Song Tingshen’s first reaction was thinking that the scheming Qin Yu must have done sothing in order to cause Ruan Xia to make this decision.
On the surface, he was still very calm. He turned sideways and said to Ruan Xia, “Co in, take a seat. Let’s talk about it.”
Ruan Xia waved her hand. “It’s okay. I just wanted to let you know...”
Song Tingshen thought; that’s pretty good. She cared about his opinion. That’s why she told him.
Of course, Song Tingshen didn’t object to this. He wanted nothing more than for Ruan Xia to imdiately resign. After all, if she stayed in Qin Yu’s company, then he wouldn’t be able to help her if anything ca up. Who knows what could happen? However, he couldn’t straightforwardly agree that she should resign. After all, the issue with Qin Yu was her business. If she didn’t want to tell him about it, it ant she had her own thoughts about it. He could only pretend that he had no clue and be supportive by helping her out with this troubleso issue.
“Okay, it’s fine for you to make this decision yourself,” Song Tingshen said.
Ruan Xia wasn’t surprised at all by his answer. Song Tingshen was just that type of person. He usually wouldn’t interfere with any of her decisions. Whether she wanted to work or if she wanted to resign, his stance on it was do whatever that makes her happy. This made Ruan Xia feel very comfortable.
Actually, there was a mont when Ruan Xia wanted to tell Song Tingshen everything, but she didn’t know where to start. After all, she hadn’t t Qin Yu before all this. They shouldn’t know each other outside of work. Moreover, in the past few days, she and Qin Yu hadn’t talked much. If she rashly told Song Tingshen that Qin Yu likes her, would he think that she had an overactive imagination and was too dramatic?
Disheartened, Ruan Xia lowered her head. “Song Tingshen, do you think I’m too lazy? It’s such a good job, but I don’t want it. I just want to be a rice weevil.”

Song Tingshen reached out and pressed her head. On an impulse, he stepped forward, gently hugged her, and patted her on the back. It was probably because her dejected look reminded him of a pitiful quail. He softly said, “Even if you’re a rice weevil, you would be cute rice weevil.”
Ruan Xia’s face was pressed against his chest. She blushed after slling the clear and cool scent of his body.
“The reason I work hard to earn money is to give you and Little Wang the most comfortable environnt. This is my responsibility as a husband and father, so you don’t have to care about the opinions of others. My original aspiration is for you and Little Wang to live each day happily.”
Song Tingshen truly didn’t think Ruan Xia was lazy.
Everyone had their advantages and disadvantages. From a certain perspective, Song Tingshen can be regarded as a man with overly traditional values and viewpoints. He believed that it was only right for a man to financially support his child and wife. That was his responsibility as a father and husband. He didn’t think he was superior to Ruan Xia just because he financially supported her. He also respected all of her decisions. If she wanted to work, he wouldn’t stop her. If she wanted to stay at ho, he wouldn’t think she was lazy.
