177 Daily Life

Kate leapt down and Kyle began to work in roasting the giant mutated animals’ at for them to eat. So of the giant mutated animals’ at are not edible but many of them are edible. Anyway, Kate only collected so acceptable giant mutated animals’ corpses.

But there were also those who collect the strange ones and even opened restaurant not far from there.

As for how Kate knew?

That was because Lotte said to them when she got back with pale face, cursing that restaurant for giving such terrifying nus for her.

“If you don’t want to eat there, you just don’t need to go.” Kyle glanced at Lotte.

“It’s not like I want to go either. Jake said that there’s a new restaurant that’s being prepared to be open, but when I see the giant mutated animals’ corpses they collected, I feel nausea.” Lotte shivered.

Kate turned into a child and sat beside Kyle, waiting for the at to be cooked. She looked at Lotte and blinked her eyes. “What animals?”

“…Spiders, snakes, ants, and many other insects…” Lotte didn’t really want to rember the giant mutated animals’ corpses that she saw back then.

They were all still fresh, but she still felt a strong sense of violation when she saw these giant mutated animals’ corpses. For her, they were definitely not for eating and even if she was paid with billions of money, she would refuse to put them into her mouth.

.....

Never!

Kate: “…”

People’s tastes are really strange.

But at this point of ti, having sothing to eat was also a blessing for so people. Thus, they simply didn’t care that much about what kind of at it ca from as long as it was edible.

If it was cheap… why not?

But for them who had been living relatively well, they still refused to eat those insects’ at. Anyway, they have much better option presented in front of them.

Why should they make themselves suffer?

Seeing the two girls shivered, Kyle chuckled. “Don’t go there. There are enough giant mutated animals’ corpses in the space. If I’m not wrong, there are only so rabbits and so other animals that can be eaten, right?”

“Of course!” Kate nodded her head hurriedly. “I’ll never agree to take the corpse of other strange giant mutated animals. If you really want to taste them, you can do it by yourself.”

“No need.” Kyle didn’t want to taste strange insects’ at either.

He had already eaten his own fair share of strange insect at when he was training as a soldier. Those tis were more than enough.

If there were better food to enjoy, why pick the worse one?

Tep!

The door into the research institute was opened and Kate’s Mother walked out. When she saw her daughter, her eyes shone brightly and warmly. “So you two are here. I made so cake. Do you want so?”

“Cake?” Kate’s eyes sparkled.

“Are there still enough eggs and flour?” Lotte was more surprised.

Kate’s Mother laughed. “I brought them inside my box that I asked the space awakened assistant to carry. There are more than enough to make cakes. I’ll bring them out for you.”

“Yay!” Kate cheered.

Lotte also felt her mouth watered.

It has been a long ti since the last ti they eat cakes. With flour being rare and these giant mutated animals still roaming around, they could only make do with the types of food that was readily available.

Cake was definitely a type of luxury.

Kate’s Mother ca inside and then walked out with a box of cake. Kate didn’t bother to be polite and imdiately take one out.

She missed her mother’s cake!

They’re the best.

At this ti, Jake and Dylan also ca back and saw the others were eating cake. They quickly joined in.

Everyone already missed the taste of cake that they hadn’t eaten in so many days.

“Everyone is taking a break?” Kate’s Mother asked in surprise. She herself didn’t really have any work to do, so she was mostly just helping her husband when he needed it.

“Yeah.” Jake nodded. “We’re going to return inside anyway.”

“You’re done with the repair?” Kyle asked.

Jake went to do so repairs for the military vehicles in order to get more materials for them to use. Dylan was helping to build the water channel to ensure that everyone would be able to have water.

The matter of his family mbers would have to wait until the communication tower and other necessary equipnt was ready. Thus, he was busy helping others with other matters that required his help.

Anyway, City E is still in the process of being built.

It will take so ti before this place could fully beco a place that was suitable enough for living.

Marc was still down there with Robby to continue building the rooms. After all, there were so fixes that they needed to do to make sure that the place wouldn’t collapses and so on.

Lotte herself was accompanying her boyfriend not long ago. Though, she didn’t really want to stay with him for such a long ti doing boring work and ended up going back earlier. She was also tired as her abilities were not as high as Jake.

“Done. I can take the materials now. I’ll need to borrow Little Kitty for that, though.” Jake grinned sheepishly.

“Ok!” Kate happily agreed.

“What’s your plan, Kyle?”

“Killing so giant mutated animals.” Kyle had no interest in helping them build because his elents were not that suitable. He also didn’t want to do the work by himself using his raw physical strength, which would only be a waste of ti because there were more than enough hands out there. “There are still a lot of giant mutated animals around.”

Even though Kyle was talking in a flat tone, Kate had the feeling that Kyle was in a bad mood. She silently felt a bit of pity towards those giant mutated animals Kyle will face later.
