"What are the giant mutated animals here?" Jake asked another question.
"Ants infestation." Kyle had seen the report and it was said that there were countless ants here. Unlike other giant mutated animals, ants lived in a colony and would be hard to deal with because they could definitely dig the ground.
The research base was located underground and it was precisely because they were underground that they encountered these giant mutated ants. There was a nearby colony that undergone mutation, causing these giant mutated ants to beco large and hard to deal with.
"Their exterior should be very hard now that they're giant mutated ants, right?" Jake frowned. Would his tal be able to pierce through these giant mutated ants' outer shell?
He felt sowhat unconfident suddenly.
"Are you not afraid?" Lotte glared at her boyfriend.
Jake looked at Lotte. "Well, even if we're afraid, soone had to do this job, right? Anyway, do you want to back out?"
"Not if you continue."
"Yes, you're indeed the best!"
"Hands off! What the hell are you doing out here?!"
Dylan looked away from these two lovebirds and looked at the door in front of him. It has been broken a long ti ago and there were traces of blood on the ground, signifying that there should be soone who had entered this building before them.
But their fate was not good.
"Are there anyone inside right now?"
"Not on the first floor." Lotte had already used her ability to scan the first floor. However, she had also noticed the stairs that were heading down. Because it was made of tal and so sturdy, her wind elent couldn't detect anything.
Kyle patted Kate, who was looking below. "How about down there, Little Kitty?"
"ow."
"Wait, how do you know that there are a lot of ants down there?" Lotte was stunned. She thought that Jake was kidding with her when he said that the little cat was very powerful. After all, she had only seen the space ability so far.

"She's of healing departnt too." Kyle then nodded at Jake, who stepped forward and opened the door. The room was ssy and the sll of blood was very strong. Lotte was stunned. She had seen the healing departnt user from City C because they departed together to City B at that ti. However, the healer was definitely not soone who could detect other's presence with his ability.
She was confused.
"This is the door." Kyle looked at the door. "Any giant mutated ants down there?"
"I can't sense anything while being blocked by this door." Lotte felt a bit embarrassed. She was supposed to be the scout, but her limited ability was still restricted because she couldn't see everything clearly when there were things blocking her. This door was one of the few examples.
"Little Kitty?"
"ow."
"A lot of ants and their eggs are right down here." Lotte decided that being a translator was not bad either. At the very least, she felt that she was sowhat useful in this team.
"Got it."
Kyle opened the door and then threw several bombs before closing the door again. This door was made out of tal and was pretty sturdy. However, they still backed several steps away and Jake used his tal to reinforce the door to avoid getting the impact.
BOOM!
The bomb exploded and the earth shook a bit. There was frantic movent below and Kate had the feeling that this research institute might as well be abandoned. It has been infested so heavily by these giant mutated ants and didn't seem to be salvageable anymore.
"Let's enter."

The group jumped down and landed on the broken floor. Kate looked at the hole at the side of the entrance and her whiskers twitched. It seed that whoever designed this building had to be proud that his design was so strong that it could withstand the impact of several bombs.
This so called hallway was no longer the sa hallway that one could imagine them. There were countless holes at the walls beside them and one room even lost the entire wall. If not for the so marks on the ground and ceiling that marked the fact that there were a wall here, no one would imagine that this used to be a room.
Countless giant mutated ants's corpses along with rotting humans' corpse could be seen around them.
It was a gory sight.
Kyle narrowed his eyes. "Let's kill them all."
"Yes!" Jake felt disgusted, but he still raised his hand and collected the useful tals, using them to pierce towards these giant mutated ants that were coming towards them.
Jleb! Jleb! Jleb!
His tals were still useful as the giant mutated ants' outer shell couldn't block against him. It might be due to the fact that these giant mutated ants were still of lower rank and not that high.
"Rank 1 to rank 2." Kyle estimated when he saw that they were being pierced so easily. With a wave of his hand, countless giant mutated ants were burned to death, leaving only their ashes and crystals.
Kate collected their crystals while looking around. She could actually see their white and black dots as usual, but she didn't have the heart to collect them when she saw the appearance of these giant mutated ants.
At this mont, she rembered the ant colony that her friend made and showed to her back then.
She felt that the ants were ugly.
And now that these ants turned into giant mutated ants, Kate still retained the sa opinion as before. So people liked these ants, but she was definitely not included among them.

Lotte was very angry.
"Let's kill all of them." Lotte then ford countless wind blades and began to kill these giant mutated ants around them. She would not even a single one of these giant mutated ants so stay alive in the slightest bit.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
The process could only be called as massacre.
With these giant mutated ants only being at rank 1 or 2, they were clearly not a match of these four rampaging awakened people. After an hour or two, they finally cleaned up the entire area of these giant mutated ants.
However, there were still several floors below.
Not to ntion, the weapon that Kyle was asked to retrieve was located at the very bottom of this research base.
It wouldn't be as easy as this below.
"There are not as many giant mutated ants as I thought." Lotte sat down on a relatively well preserved table. It was only missing so corner a bit.
"The door heading downwards is closed. It's estimated that whoever co here before us is trying to prevent these giant mutated ants from climbing up by closing these doors. Unfortunately, they didn't manage to get out." Kyle shook his head.
Jake sighed. "Well, these giant mutated ants looked quite vulnerable, but their number are simply too much."
"Recover your strength. We're going to go down."
"Ok."
They knew that this was only the beginning. These giant mutated ants reproduced very quickly, so they knew that these giant mutated ants they solved just now was only the tip of the iceberg.
