“ow.”
“What is it, Little Kitty?” Kyle had taken Kate out from the mont they were inside the tent. Anyway, there was no need for Kate to stay inside his jacket’s pocket all the ti. It would be too stuffy for her there too.
Kate rolled her eyes.
“ow!”
She’s too lazy to repeat the sa sentence over and over again.
Kyle arched his eyebrows and then looked outside. Sensing the appearance of so people, his eyes flashed with cold light.
It seed that so people were trying to seek death.
“Kyle?” Jake was confused. “Did giant mutated animals breach through the defense? Dylan should have dealt with them if that was the case.”
“No, not them.”

Not giant mutated animals?
Then what?
While Jake was confused, Kyle glanced at the side of the tent and raised his hand. Fire appeared outside the tent and engulfed the person who was sneaking into ash almost imdiately.
There was no ti for him to even scream.
He directly disappeared.
“Any crystal core?” Kyle asked, his tone was still sowhat cold, but it was repressed in front of Kate.
“ow...” Kate answered timidly.
She was stunned when she saw Kyle killed whoever that was so easily. It was not like they were facing giant mutated animals that were threatening their lives, but it was instead human beings.
Human!
Kate was at loss as she picked the crystal core from outside into her space. She had known that things changed from the very mont she saw those giant mutated animals outside her academy.
At that ti, she thought that it would be hard to deal with these giant mutated animals.
But she was wrong.
The one that was hardest to deal was not these giant mutated animals, but rather the human beings. There would always be people who wanted to take their lives and it was up to them how they were going to react.
Will they kill them first?
Will they hesitate?
Kate had never killed anyone before and only so giant mutated animals along the way with her powerful ability. After all, she knew that killing humans and killing giant mutated animals were very different.
She didn’t want to kill anyone.
But if there was soone who will threaten her life in the future, will she make the decision to raise her hand against them?
Kate didn’t know.
She forcefully pulled herself back from the state and focused on making the crystal appeared in front of them.
As she was feeling conflicted, the crystal appeared in front of Kyle. Instead of the previously 10 colors, the crystal was now in black color. It was sowhat closer to grey color, but it was also different.
“Grey? tal?” Jake was confused.
“No, not tal.” Kyle’s eyes flashed with strange light. “It seed that there are not just only 10 different colors but 11.”
“What if you see the twelfth color?” Jake joked.
Kyle glanced at Jake and seriously considered about that. After all, he first thought that there were only 10 because they had only seen 10 so far. But what if there were so special animals or special humans?
And this black crystal color had already proven that there were indeed so of them that were sowhat different.
“ow.”
Kate frowned and looked at the crystal in front of her and hissed. For so reason, she could see those black colors that she usually saw from humans whirling within the black crystal.
She didn’t pay attention before, but this crystal was not normal.
“Is it different from crystal obtained by giant mutated animals?” Kyle asked. He saw Kate’s reaction and guessed that she might have ‘seen’ sothing from this crystal.
Other crystals from giant mutated animals would not earn Kate’s extre reaction like this.
“ow.”
Jake looked at the crystal with confused expression. Aside from the difference in color, he clearly didn’t think that there was anything different from this crystal from the crystals that he usually used.
Thus, Jake reached his hand, wanting to touch it.
“ow!”
Kate reacted strongly and put the crystal back into her space. She specifically put it in a remote area and tried her best to create a space type confinent while hissing towards Jake.
Jake was stupefied.
“Did I do sothing wrong?”
Kyle narrowed his eyes. “It seems that it should be the crystal that had so problem. It seed that human’s crystal is sowhat different from what we can obtain from giant mutated animals.”
“Do you want to research it?”
“There are not enough sample, I’ll try to ask the people from the Research institute next. When there are so warriors dying, they should have retrieved the crystals in order to be able to research them.” Kyle then reached out his hand to pick Kate up.
Because they were still in the early stage of mutation, the researchers were eager to find out more materials for them to find out more about the mutation. When there were awakened people who died because of one way or another, it was entirely possible for them to dig into their body and retrieve the crystal.
The only exception is if the family mbers of that person was powerful.
In that case, they could only give up.
But how many of such case were there? Ordinary people would have no power and ability to resist these researchers who were backed by the nation.
“Hmm, ok.” Jake was not interested at all. He waved his hand and turned around, intending to sleep. In his eyes, there was simply no difference between the crystal cores that they earned through giant mutated animals or humans.
Anyway, he only cared for the grey colored crystal that he could use because they were the most useful.
Kyle was about to reach Kate, but she instinctively moved back.
This move caused the temperature in the air to drop trendously.
Kate was stunned by her instinctive reaction too and saw Kyle’s expression and imdiately felt that it was not good.
She was used to see Kyle and the others killing giant mutated animals. But she was definitely not used to see them killing humans. Besides, before she awakened this healing ability, she would always hide inside Kyle’s jacket and didn’t see most of the fights that occurred.
Only after she had awakened this ability did she began to take notice more and more of Kyle’s battle with others.
The battles were fierce.
But even then, the opponents were all giant mutated animals.
“ow.”
“Little Kitty,” Kyle called out, his voice and tone were soft.
Kate raised her head and looked at Kyle directly. She felt guilty, but she really couldn’t restrain her instinctive reaction.
She had to admit.
She’s afraid.
When she saw Kyle killing humans so easily just like he killed giant mutated animals, she was afraid of him.
Would he end up truly killing her in the future?
Even though such notion had already appeared from ti to ti in the past, Kate’s inner mind would not believe that he would truly kill her. After all, normal humans wouldn’t kill each other.
But this feeling of crisis just increased after Kate saw Kyle’s action.
She could see that the one standing beside the tent was not giant mutated animal but rather human.
This was why she reacted so strongly.
“Are you afraid, Little Kitty?” Kyle asked, his tone laced with indifference, yet there was so kind of sadness and loneliness within his voice. His expression was still not as cold as when he was facing that man outside, but the trace of coldness could be sensed by those who were close to him.
It was hard to describe.
Kate could see that Kyle was staring at her directly, observing her every action. His gaze made her feel sowhat nervous and Kate wanted to answer no right away.
It was just... her body refused.
Under his stare, Kate felt that she really had no way to lie.
Her small body quivered slightly and Kate slowly owed in response.
“... ow.”

Kyle watched the little cat in front of him and the feeling that she was a human being was growing stronger and stronger in his mind. There was no way that an ordinary cat would feel so strongly when he killed humans.
After all, Little Kitty should have felt more strongly if he killed other cats.
But it happened when he killed a human.
He opened his mouth and in the end closing it again. For as long as he could rember, he could never truly open his heart to anyone aside from his mother. Even his father was not as close as his mother.
He treated this little cat specially because he felt that she was just a little kid who didn’t understand the world.
But it seed that he was wrong.
