Chapter 29 – Let’s just call it silly dog (1)

ng Yan had very few mories of happy family gatherings. For sothing like celebrating his children’s birthdays, it was so few that it was pitiful.

For him to rember that today was Shanshan’s birthday, it was already a miracle…

After all, he was busy with his work. Sotis, he was so busy that he would forget even his own birthday. If it wasn’t his friends and fans clamoring to celebrate his birthday each year, he wouldn’t have rembered on his own.

After he divorced Lin Yiyi, it was rare for him to see his two kids without her being there too. Every ti he tried to see his son and daughter, Lin Yiyi would almost always be there to pester him. Annoyed by this, he gradually cut back on his visits to see his children.

It was only because of Zhang Xiying’s support that he had made the resolution to visit Shanshan today.

She had cheered and encouraged him to visit his daughter, went with him to buy the birthday gift, and ca here with him. She was waiting in the car. Anyways, he was touched by her kind intent.

However, he would have never expected that his ditzy ex-wife would celebrate Shanshan’s birthday….

Standing in front of the villa’s front doorway, he had been able to see the lively scene in the living room through the villa’s floor-to-ceiling windows.

It was Housekeeper Zhang that had opened the door for him.

Behind the front doors, there were pink, blue, and yellow balloons. On the shelves and tables in the front hallway, there were cloth puppets and dolls. There were also lots of pink and white roses laid out on the side.

The entire first floor was decorated so that it was brimming with a type of warmth and comfort that would appeal to a child’s taste.

Even from his position outside the front doors, ng Yan had heard the sounds of happiness and laughter that was coming from the inside.

Before coming to the Lin family’s villa, he had made the ntal preparations to see Lin Yiyi…

However, he hadn’t expected that his expectations would be so different from reality.

Lin Yiyi… It seed that she had changed.

As he accepted the birthday cake from his ex-wife, he was a bit dazed.

“I…. I ca here to see Shanshan.”

ng Yan looked down to look at ng Shanshan’s raised face. As she timidly t his eyes, he offered the gift that he was holding. He naturally reached out to ruffle her hair. “Shanshan, here. This is a gift that dad brought you.”

ng Shanshan was small. The gift that ng Yan held in one hand took her both hands to securely hold onto. Fortunately, the gift wasn’t heavy, so it wasn’t hard for her to hold it.

Lin Yiyi leaned over towards ng Shanshan with a smile. “Shanshan, say thank you to dad.

The little girl was very obedient. Nodding, she said, “Thank you, dad.”

ng Yan, who had been thanked: “…”

He didn’t know why, but he kept having the feeling that he was being treated like a stranger.

He was standing outside, and those three were standing inside like an especially harmonious family of three. There was a doorway between them. He suddenly realized that he was already an outsider to them.

ng Yan felt a bit depressed.

In the end, the hand that he stretched out to pat Shanshan’s head didn’t make contact. He could only pull his hand back in embarrassnt. He looked at Lin Yiyi.

His ex-wife, she had genuinely changed…

“I’m leaving,” he lightly said.

Yes, he was finally leaving! Lin Yiyi inwardly sighed in relief.

Facing this ex-husband, she felt awkward enough to die. Anything she said to him felt off.

Sure enough, it was really tough to deal with adults. It was way easier to talk to children…

Lin Yiyi quickly smiled and nodded. “Okay, bye.”

She didn’t forget to tell ng Yuran and ng Shanshan, “Yuran, Shanshan, co on, say goodbye to dad.”

ng Yan:“……”
