Chapter 229 – Alas, his wife was already asleep! (1)
Temperature in their city could get up to 20 degree Celsius in November.
Such was the temperature in the South. One would never feel the chill of the autumn breeze. Even in early November, one could still go around in shorts. At most one would need to throw on a thin jacket when one was to leave the house. Not even a sweater would be required.
When it was already snowing in the other cities, their city was still lush all over with the exception of a little bit of chilliness felt after perhaps a couple days of rain.
Lu Xun was back to the Lin’s with Lu Mingzhe in tow. He had been going over there quite often as of late.
Partly his purpose was to keep her “up to date”. The fact that all the news on the internet on ng Yuran went away so quickly had a lot to do with Lu Xun. Even though many had already seen the picture of the teenager, the effect would, after all, fade away over ti.
Besides, ng Yuran normally only travels between school and ho day after day. There weren’t a lot of opportunities for others to recognize him anyway.
Another reason was that Lin Yiyi had gotten into making dumplings as of late.
Dumplings can have many different kinds of fillings – pork with cabbage, seafood combo, at and mushrooms, etc. etc. These were added to their als every day. When she cycled through all of the combinations, she started modifying her recipes. First, she introduced shrimp and squid to her recipes. Then, she started converting them into pot stickers. With all of her mixes and matches, nothing had been repeated even once.
The dumpling-of-the-day was what Lu Xun looked forward to the most everyday now.
Tonight, just like any other night, a large plate of pan-fried dumplings was brought out halfway through dinner. These were filled with at and lotus roots.
When splitting between five people, each of them would at most get five or six of them. But all of them were very content with the quantity that they received.
With the pan-fried dumplings over dinner and the coconut tapioca afterward, days liked this… Made Lu Xun never want to leave!
Lin Yiyi sat down on the couch and patted the spot next to her, gesturing for Lu Xun to sit down.
“I need your opinion. With the three-day off over New Year, I plan to take a small trip with Little Yuran and Shanshan. Where do you recomnd?”
She only pulled out the brochures that she had gotten from the travel agencies and asked Lu Xn for his opinion after ng Yuran and ng Shanshan had gone upstairs to shower.
She hasn’t told her two children yet, wanting to give them a pleasant surprise.
Lu Xun was even more emotional than she was. He looked through the brochures excitedly. “We have talked about Dali in the past. But for three days’ ti, it’s probably best to keep to sowhere close. You don’t want to spend a whole day just on travelling… I personally would suggest an old town of so sort. No need to go sowhere too far away. You will have two days’ ti to sightsee and enjoy the local area as well as the fad local cuisine.”
And, the subject looped right back to eating once again!
Lu Mingzhe pursed his lips and interjected. “It’s too cold over the New Year. Who would want to sightsee when it’s windy outside?”
That made so much sense!
Especially when she had two children with her. It would not be fun to have one or both of them get ill.
Lin Yiyi ruled out anywhere far or any outdoor activities imdiately.
Lu Xun gave his nephew a look and said, “I was just about to say that. With such limited ti, you need to maximize your ti as much as possible and not go sowhere too far away or have too packed of a schedule. You should just stick to one place. Sowhere like Hokkaido, where there are hot springs and seafood. Or a sunny beach sowhere in Southeast Asia and just stay on an island for a couple of days.”
That was very fair advice. With only a 3-day vacation and one day being spent on travelling, there was really only two days to really relax and enjoy.
