During dinner, despite the cold stare of ng Yuran, ng Shanshan went over and sat next to Lu Mingzhe. The little girl sat there properly and didn’t dare to look up. Because the mont that she looked up, she’d be t by her brother’s stare! It’s too scary!
Lu Mingzhe had noticed that as well. He quietly put food into ng Shanshan’s bowl and successfully distracted her.
The little girl has a very simple mind. With yummy food, all other unpleasantness could disappear right away. She even forgot that her big brother was still staring at her from across the table.
Little unconscientious girl! ng Yuran wasn’t too happy about it.
It was only now that Lin Yiyi finally noticed the “jealousy” between the three children.
ng Yuran and ng Shanshan had always been close. They might bicker with each other from ti to ti, but that was still within the norm of what one would see in a regular family. All in all, the brother and sister were still very affectionate toward each other.
But, with the extra Lu Mingzhe… It was not looking good for ng Yuran!
Wasn’t there a saying that when it ca to emotions, one person by themselves was too lonely; three were too many; and two were just perfect?
When there were three people and two of them belonging to one gender and the other one the opposite gender, that would distract the single person of the opposite gender and that she would not be able to focus all of her thoughts and emotions on one person. Which would, in turn, bring about jealousy or anger from the one that received less attention.
And now, ng Yuran, his face long, stared at the two sitting across from him.
It was as though he was staring at a pair of cheaters.
What the heck?!
After she had filled in a nonexistent “love triangle” in her head, Lin Yiyi finally regained her rationality that had drifted very far away.
That very night, she had a girl talk with ng Shanshan.
After Lu Mingzhe had given her his words, Lin Yiyi had temporarily let down her guard toward the teenage boy, but she still needed to prevent the two children from getting too close to each other.
She worried that the little girl would fall head over heels in love with Lu Mingzhe in the future like she did in the book.
In a few more years’ ti, ng Shanshan would be in her teens and romance would bud. She could easily fall for a nice boy that was close to her.
And the two most outstanding boys around her right now were her own brother and Lu Mingzhe.
Granted, ng Shanshan was still young at her six years of age. It’d be a while before she reached that point.
“Did you upset your brother today?”
ng Yuran’s face was so gloomy that water could drip out of it!
Being brought into her mother’s room, ng Shanshan had Silly Dog in her arms as she crawled into her mother’s bed, huffing and puffing.
Silly Dog was already 7 months old and was so fat that it resembled a balloon.
They had weighed it just a few days ago, and it weighed over 4 pounds.
It wasn’t easy for ng Shanshan to lug it around with her. She had her arms under the cat’s front legs and struggled with it. Silly Dog looked very miserable.
Lin Yiyi helped her with it. “It’s so fat now. You should stop carrying it around with you all the ti. You might fall.”
Silly Dog had no idea that it was being called fat. It went straight to kneading as soon as it got onto the bed. After so kneading, it found itself a comfortable spot, lied down, and did not stir again.
Granted, it had gotten so fat precisely because it loved eating but not exercising!
ng Shanshan finally let out a sigh of relief.
It was obvious that carrying the cat around was a lot of work for her.
