When the others arrived slowly, the two boys who got there first had already seated themselves.
At a round table that could sit 10, one of them sat on the east end and the other on the west end. There were so 4-5 empty spots between the two of them…
There was a clear division between the two of them.
The adults did not notice the awkwardness between the two boys.
It was only ng Shanshan, who got out from her mother’s grip and dashed straight toward her brother and sat down next to him.
ng Yuran felt a sense of pride when his sister was so clingy to him in front of the “outsiders”.

They had only been back to the states for a month, when because of Housekeeper Zhang’s “tattle-tale”, his wife packed her bags and flew back right away.

“Truth is, I am not all that keen about going back either. I want to travel around the country. There are so many places that I haven’t visited yet. I’ve heard that Erhai in Dali is a very nice spot and I have been wanting to go.” Mr. Gu went on and on. “I just don’t think foreign locations are as attractive as locations in China. Nor are they as superior geographically. And every place is so different…”
Lu Xun was being extrely polite. He nodded the entire ti and also made promises. “Oh yeah? I have a friend who works at a travel agency. If you are truly interested in traveling to Dali, I can have him help you plan it out.”
As Lu Xun offered up a workable plan, Gu Chengyi imdiately smacked down on the table and said, “Yes! Let’s go! And not just my entire family. You and Zhe should co as well!”
As he made it sound like it was a done deal over on this side, a sneer from Ms. Lin Ping imdiately reminded everyone who was the head of household here.
Pretending that he wasn’t the one who just made that decision, Mr. Gu Chengyi cautiously turned his head and said softly to Ms. Lin Ping, sitting on the other side of him, “Of course, we always listen to you when it cos to decisions with the family.”
That was more like it!
Ms. Lin Ping was placated imdiately.
After she had made her point, she thought she’d reciprocate that for her man. “I don’t have an opinion on it. Let’s go with what you’ve said.”
Now that she had made him look good, Gu Chengyi happily peeled a shrimp for her and placed it inside of her bowl.
And that’s how this old couple showed off their relationship…
Boss Lu, who has a very steep learning curve, also picked up a piece of shrimp, peeled it, and placed it inside of Lin Yiyi’s bowl.

Looking at the piece of spongy and tender shrimp inside of her bowl, she didn’t know what to make of it.
