Chapter 281: Chapter One: Logging In
Gently plucking the seven-stringed harp in his hand, beautiful notes suddenly leapt into the air, like wind spirits dancing gracefully, giving one the urge to soar. The surrounding curtain of air magic slowly dissipated, and of course, outsiders couldn’t sense the change in these spatial magic elents. Still, Kor knew the experint to control air magic with musical notes that he designed had achieved perfect success.
In fact, this magic curtain was a combination of air magic and perception magic. It was controlled by two factors: touch, where anyone entering its range would instantly cause it to evolve into a prepared attack magic array, and whether it was a mage or a martial arts expert trying to forcefully enter, they would have to break this magic array first.
To protect his most important workshop, Kor deliberately set up a mixed magic array of earth magic and Dark Erosion Magic. Dark Erosion Magic posed a challenge for any mage or paladin. To break through it, unless you were a dark wizard or you possessed exceedingly strong magic strength. As for the earth-based magic, Kor took advantage of the secret room below the room, on one hand, to launch powerful earth attacks, and on the other, to allow the equipnt in the invaded room to escape into the underground passages where they were located in record ti, thus protecting the equipnts and items in the room.
On the workbench still lay the round cylindrical tal tube that had only just begun to take shape. Just processing this tal tube had already cost Kor a great deal of effort. The dark iron tube of the magical tal alloy, mixed with a large amount of other magic power ores, could faintly pulse with sparks of light in the dark. This was from adding Burning Stone, known as the utmost extre of fire-type magic minerals, to the forging of Usteel, a highly unstable fire magic power ore that should categorize as a non-tal mineral, yet could be incorporated into tal by adopting special forging thod to endow its magical characteristics to the tal, significantly enhancing the tal’s fire-type magical properties.
However, incorporating this type of ore into tal was a challenge; both smiths and mages needed to be well-versed in Fire Magic and deeply understand the properties of both tal and this type of fire magic power ore. Almost every source of this natural ore has slightly differing contents of fire magic power, most with a mix of magical properties. For example, so are more inclined towards the Light Series’ Solar Fla, a blend of Light and Fire Magic properties, while others lean towards the Dark Class’s Nether Shadow Fla, a combination of Dark and Fire Magic. If not careful during forging, failing to control the right heat, one could neither embed the highly active fire star magic mineral’s fiery magic power onto the tal nor would prevent the burning of the magic tal. Worse, one could even trigger an outburst of Solar Fla or Nether Shadow Fla, which was extrely dangerous for both the smith and the mage.
It took Maximi’s Slting Workshop five working days to barely forge the Usteel into a cylindrical shape, then another week to polish the inner walls of the cylinder smooth. The Dwarf craftsn in the workshop didn’t know what magic tal chimney sent by the Lord’s Mansion for processing was for. If you say it’s a chimney, then using such expensive magic tal seed too extravagant for Lord. If there were other purposes, this thing didn’t look like any magic equipnt or prop. After countless debates over drinks, the Dwarf craftsn’s concluded that Lord was probably designing so special magic circle requiring this advanced magical instrunt beyond ordinary people’s comprehension.
After grinding Burning Stone into powder and repeatedly subjecting it to processes of magical fla calcination and cathode water imrsion three tis, Kor finally managed to fuse the fire magic power of Burning Stone onto the Usteel chimney. This project took five nights to complete, signifying the initial completion of the Magic-ard gun’s barrel. The remaining tasks would be even more complex and difficult, but at the mont, Kor was running out of ti to focus on developing the Magic-ard gun’s launching device and the transformation and conduction devices for the magic power ores. According to his own estimates, designing and completing these two critical components would take at least more than half a year, and now, the intricate political duties hardly left him ample ti to devote himself to the task.
The initial thought was that having grasped the procedural principles, he could easily complete the design and prototype production in a short ti, but it turned out to be wishful thinking. Just the design of the parts took up a lot of ti, and processing these parts, rely preparing enough variety of magic tal materials, required a considerable period of ti. All things considered, to complete a Magic-ard gun prototype, Kor calculated that just the cost of materials would not be less than 150,000 Gold Shields, not to ntion the ti, energy, and effort invested by him.
Gently caressing the dark tal chimney with his palm, as if fondling his beloved woman, Kor shook his head. The Gray Skulls would send soone nearly every other week to inquire about the progress, but considering their behavior on the Nether Sea, Kor felt it was necessary to test their patience further. With Mattdam’s port status now suppressed by the Hor Navy, to Kor’s dissatisfaction, the Gray Skulls remained indifferent under his watchful eye. Though not obligated by agreent, their apparent willful negligence irked him internally. Support has always been mutual. He had delivered several Mirrors of Thousand Miles as promised, but now the Gray Skulls were fixated on contending with Katrina for dominance over the northern diterranean. With his own limited ti, the developnt of the magic-ard gun would have to be put on hold, especially since the Gray Skulls had not yet fully delivered on the research grant, which served as a perfect excuse.
The wooden door was gently pushed open, and a pair of slightly sluggish eyes that looked as if they hadn’t fully woken up yet glead on golden cheeks. His agile steps and open eyes hinted at significant progress compared to his previous state. As soon as he entered the workspace, Kor had sent a psychic suggestion to the zombie at the other end to wake it from its slumber. After handling daily affairs, this place had beco Kor’s sanctuary for relaxation. To Kor, busying himself here was also a form of psychological rest, a respite from the exhausting sches and the banalities of politics that aged one prematurely. Kor increasingly enjoyed imrsing himself in the world of magic alone, designing and creating magical instrunts, concocting potions, training zombie reflexes, and enhancing his ability to command with his mind. Spending ti with the Pure Dark Mage Lo, whose original mories he gradually erased, was a delight. Sotis, Kor even wished he could stay forever in his studio, quietly working according to his will without external hindrances or limitations, though he knew it was nothing more than a dream.
This was a spacious training room, equipped with wooden pillars, ropes, iron balls, sliding chains, and even hidden weapon dispensers—all for training in reaction. The young girl mage stood beside Kor, watching the moving figure in the room with curious eyes. The stiletto in her hand slid gracefully through the air, and the grey mist enveloping the corpse indicated it had reached the realm of magical fighting Qi. The occasional flicker of dark light at the tip of the stiletto added a mysterious aura. The ghostly figure moved and leapt among countless pillars, ropes, and swinging iron balls, even flying at tis. When it occasionally triggered a magic weapon device, hidden weapons would shoot out sporadically. Dodging, countering, and pouncing—the body moved fluidly, resembling not so much a zombie as a specialized assassin.
“Great Sage, this Silver Corpse of yours has reached the pinnacle of its level. Lo believes you can fully move it to the next phase of training,” the girl’s srizing voice had completely returned to its original tone, no longer the cold and deadly inflection of the past. This was very pleasing and natural to Kor’s ears.
Kor had spent a great deal of effort to completely erase the mories of the charming girl before him. The youthful vitality had returned to the girl, and the mask and makeup were long removed. Her painted brows and delicate features brought a pleasurable delight to any man. Her hair, playfully tied in a ring-shaped bun atop her head, added a touch of graceful maturity to her youthful charm. Despite seeing her almost daily, Kor couldn’t help but feel a surge of protectiveness and tenderness towards her. Such a natural beauty, tragically indoctrinated with countless oppressive doctrines by the inhumane Church of Light. Had he not rescued her from the Withered Soul Forbidden Land, she would have withered away in the stifling confines of the Church, eventually becoming one of those conservative, rigid old nuns.
However, Kor had to admit that the Church of Light had an unparalleled eye for talent. Even though it had taken him imnse effort to achieve his goal with this girl, her exceptional aptitude justified it all—her excellent mory, keen understanding, and extraordinary magical ability were indeed treasures bestowed by Hades, god of the underworld. Having completed the mind cleansing and Solidification Technique, in just one month, the girl was able to comfortably discuss and exchange ideas with him in the field of dark magic. Of course, over the past month, Kor had systematically imbued her with his knowledge system of dark magic through his potent spiritual power and profound psychic magic. Yet even so, the transformation was astonishing: from a Pure Light Mage, a Sanctuary Guardian of the Church of Light, to a Nether wizard—a miracle in itself, filling Kor with imnse pride in his achievent.
My new book “Exotic Hunting in different space and ti” is in its final week of a ranking push, and I hope that my friends who supported Regan and Demon Destiny could spare precious space on their bookshelf for the new book and cast your Recomndation Tickets to the new number 141568. Regan would be imnsely grateful!
