Chapter 147: Chapter 8: Earth Dragon Warrior_3
“Then, Mr. Wollin, please instruct your subordinates to arrange the deploynt according to my plan,” Kor finally stated his thoughts. “These ogres have been entangled with the noble warriors for so long that they have lost their edge, but if I attack with magic, these fellows will certainly fight to the death. At that mont, if I occasionally reveal a gap, allowing the beasts to charge out in batches, Mr. Wollin and Ilot, along with the two Earth Dragon Warriors, can use their weapons to strike, focusing on their vital points. This way we can achieve a fatal blow!” With this, Kor’s real intention was clear. Wollin and Ilot’s attacks were feints, the true lethal moves would be the Earth Dragon Warriors’ Dragon Lance Thrusts.
Wollin finally accepted Kor’s suggestion, aware that the ogre’s onslaught was intensifying. If the situation dragged on, there was a high possibility that the creatures would break through, an outco too dreadful to contemplate. Wollin had no confidence in resolving this issue alone. Kor’s proposal would unite all their strengths, though this depended on the extent of the Mage Lord’s mastery over his magic skills.
With a gentle wave of the left hand holding the wand, and seemingly effortless pinch of fingers on the right hand, Kor chanted as if from the underworld: “Serpent Dance of the Nine Netherworlds, my heart remains steadfast, Fire Phantom, without precedence or succession! God of Nature, I swear in the na of Minto, let the natural elents incarnate all beings, please grant your faithful follower the power!”
Kor’s mastery of this ultimate fire magic spell had greatly improved since the first ti he used it to fend off the Gray Wolf’s attack. His growing magic power also allowed him to perform this high-level fire spell without any reservations. Though the spell still consud a considerable amount of Kor’s magic power, he no longer needed to worry about magic power rebound. Fire magic had always been Kor’s strong suit in elental magic. As Kor executed the “Golden Snake Dance,” he even layered it with “Elental Storm,” a large-scale auxiliary spell. Though not high tier, “Elental Storm” was an incredibly practical spell for gathering elents. It could swiftly absorb a massive amount of elents from the surroundings in a short ti. Without another spell as the central focus, it was essentially useless. However, when cast in conjunction with any other elental magic spell, “Elental Storm” would significantly enhance the attacking power of the elental magic.
A fire ring with a diater of two ters slowly rose and tumbled in the air. The sky-blue flas turned to a golden tinge as an abundance of fire elents gathered ferociously. It seed even the air had ignited. The fire ring continued to expand, and under the guidance of the wand in Kor’s hand, swiftly moved above the tight defensive formation of the encirclent. Though they had braced themselves, the Barbarian Warriors, who had never witnessed such an event close to a natural miracle, couldn’t help but make a noise. In the minds of these warriors, who worshipped the natural deities, such a miracle was not sothing that could be perford by a human being. Only gods or their ssengers could perform such wonders. This display of trendous magical prowess was one of the key reasons Kor had expended so much magic power—it could preemptively showcase his strength to the stronger barbarians and give him an advantage in negotiations with them later on. It would also help cent his god-like image deep in the minds of the barbarians.
Kor’s “Golden Snake Dance” caused a brief frenzy among the Barbarian Warriors. Fortunately, the panic was short-lived, and the ogres, equally srized by the spectacle from the sky, lost their last chance to escape. The enormous fire ring slowly engulfed the ogres from above. They felt the divine punishnt from the heavens and beca frantic and disorganized in the face of this unstoppable natural attack. There was nothing they could do but make futile attempts to dodge, for with their limited intelligence, they could not conceive of any strategy to counter it. anwhile, the uplifted Barbarian Warriors tightened their siege, forcing the ogres attempting to escape the heavenly fire ring to remain trapped.
As the fire ring descended to just five ters from the ground, Wollin gave a sharp, loud whistle. The Barbarian Soldiers, who had been previously instructed, imdiately withdrew in unison. At that mont, the fire ring plumted rapidly and landed with a thunderous crash, engulfing the unsuspecting ogres completely within its fiery embrace. Once on the ground, the flas erupted wildly. The blaze shot three zhang high, enveloping the entire range in light and shadow.
The shrill howls echoed over the plains once more, yet the encircling Barbarian Warriors dared not relax even in the slightest. These unnaturally formidable ogres were far beyond any magical beast the barbarians had encountered before. Their intelligence made many strategies typically employed against magical beasts backfire when the ogres used the sa tactics against their opponents. Diversions, decoys, and coordinated attacks—these combat maneuvers, usually a hallmark of human intellect, were shocking when utilized by the beasts, instilling fear in their enemies. Thankfully, there was magic, the pinnacle of human wisdom, which these creatures had not yet mastered. They could only use the magical properties inherent to their bodies to inflict so damage, but they couldn’t yet harness various natural forces to enhance their abilities. Otherwise, this world might have long since beco a realm dominated by magical beasts.
