Luna.

The Queen's presence filled the entire room. But it wasn't her feral grace that made Isolde's breath seize in her throat — it was the thing she was holding.

William's head.

Luna's fingers were wrapped around his matted hair, the lifeless face dangling at her side, eyes glassy and mouth frozen mid-shock. A single droplet of blood slid from his chin and fell onto the floor.

William… dead? Her protector. Her secret weapon. The man whose power she had hidden behind all this ti.

Luna's lips curved upward. She stepped forward and, with a flick of her wrist, flung the severed head at Isolde's feet. It hit the floor with a dull, wet thud, rolling once before stopping inches from the hem of Isolde's gown.

"He was your power," Luna said softly. She began to move closer. "Your backbone." Another step — closer now. "The one who gave you the courage to co after my people…and my husband."

Isolde tried to back away but her legs betrayed her — trembling, weak. "You can't—"

Luna didn't let her finish. She drew back her fist and punched her square in the face. The impact snapped Isolde's head to the side. The crack of the blow echoed in the room.

Natasha, standing frozen by the wall, let out a strangled gasp. "Your Majesty, please—!"

But Luna wasn't done. Her chest rose and fell with sharp, furious breaths as she grabbed Isolde by the hair and yanked her upright. "I told you," Luna hissed. "I warned you. I said you would leave here in a body bag." Her fist struck again, this ti harder.

Isolde cried out. "The King—" she gasped, defiant even as she stumbled backward, clutching her face. "Damien won't let you harm !"

At the ntion of the king on Isolde's trembling lips, a primal, furious sound tore from Luns's chest, a growl so deep it seed to shake the very foundations of the castle. Her pupils dilated to molten gold. With a snarl that seed to co from another world entirely, she lunged forward, grabbing Isolde by the shoulders and slamming her against the nearest wall with bone-cracking force.

The stone cracked and dented, the impact reverberating through the entire room. Dust fell from the ceiling. The air itself trembled.

Before Isolde could even gasp, Luna was upon her again — a blur of fury and grief. She wrapped her hand around the woman's throat, her grip iron-tight, lifting her clean off the ground as if she weighed nothing. Isolde's bare feet kicked helplessly in the air, her fingers clawing at Luna's arm in terror.

"You really think you had him?" Her lips curled into a cruel, humorless smile. "You poor thing… he used you."

Her hand squeezed tighter — her pulse thrumd.

Isolde choked, her mouth opening and closing. Her eyes were bulging from their sockets, a faint purple tint spreading beneath her skin where Luna's claws pressed into her flesh. "M–my… baby…" she managed to croak.

Behind them, Eryk hesitated. "Your Highness…" he said carefully, stepping into the circle of Luna's fury.

Luna turned her head toward him, her eyes flashing gold. The look she gave him was lethal — a warning sharper than any blade.

Eryk froze, his throat dry. The wolf in her had taken over. The king's order to keep her calm might as well have been a whisper against a hurricane. There was no reasoning with her now.

He took a slow step back, hands raised.

Damien ca through just then, hair tousled. Kyllian followed closely behind.

"Moonlight?" Damien's voice was soft. His gaze landed on Luna — on his queen, his mate — holding Isolde by the throat, her eyes feral.

"Moonlight, listen to ," he said again, stepping closer. He didn't rush her. He couldn't. Any wrong move and the fragile line between fury and heartbreak could snap. "Honey, there is a piece of inside her."

"I don't care, Damien." Her hand tightened around Isolde's throat again. Isolde's nails clawed at Luna's wrist.

"Baby… co on. I know you…" He took another step forward, his hand outstretched, as if he could reach into that storm and bring her back. "I know you, Moonlight. You don't want this. You—"

"Do you? Do you truly know ?" Luna's head turned toward him. "Do you, Damien?" Her golden eyes flared brighter.

Kyllian stepped forward, laying a heavy, steadying hand on Damien's shoulder. "Allow ," he murmured quietly. The king gave a tense nod, muscles coiled tight beneath his skin.

Kyllian moved toward Luna slowly, careful not to startle her. He stood beside her. "Be angry," he said softly, watching the tremor in her arm. "Be furious. The moon herself would be. But then… let it go."

Luna's breathing was ragged now, chest rising and falling sharply, the muscles in her arm trembling with restraint. Kyllian continued. "You are the princess of the werewolf kingdom. Don't get your hands dirty with worms. You have people to do that for you."

Isolde hung limp in her grasp, eyes rolled back. Luna's hand shook once more — then with a guttural cry, she released her, flinging her body to the ground. Isolde crumpled, unconscious.

Luna stood there, her shoulders heaving. The fury was gone now, replaced by exhaustion. She turned to her husband. "Once the child is born…" she said quietly. "She dies."

It was a decree.

Damien simply nodded once. His gaze followed her as she turned and walked away.

Damien finally exhaled, dragging a hand through his hair.

Outside, the breeze caught Luna's hair. She tilted her head up toward the dark skies. Her chest rose with a long, deep breath, then fell again — a slow exhale that trembled.

It was finally over.

She closed her eyes and whispered to the heavens, "It's done. It's finally done."

*****

The werewolf kingdom had not seen such light in months. The last ti was during her failed wedding with Kyllian. Banners fluttered across the castle, the air thick with laughter and music. Everywhere Luna looked, the people were smiling, their faces glowing, their howls of joy echoing into the night sky. They finally had a queen sitting on the throne.

It had been weeks since the fight ended, but the peace still felt like a dream. The vampire king and queen stood among them—an unthinkable alliance once, but now, a living testant that true peace between their kinds was possible.

Kyllian stood near the center of the crowd, a glass in hand. Beside him, Mabel looked radiant, her once-rounded belly now flat after the divine birth. Her laughter was soft and lodic.

"Look how happy he is," Luna murmured, watching the two of them with a faint, amused smile.

Damien, standing beside her—snorted, his arm tightening around her waist. "I don't care how happy he is," he muttered. "I'm just relieved he isn't lapping at your heels anymore."

Luna turned her head up to him, her lips curling in amusent. "Seriously, that annoyed tone when you talk about Kyllian doesn't work on anymore. I know you boys are secretly best bros." Her teasing glint made his lips twitch despite himself.

"Best bros?" he echoed, incredulous. "I guess we are."

Behind them, the oga nurses moved carefully, cradling two tiny bundles—Erin and Magnus. The vampire prince and the Moon Goddess's chosen vessel—innocent now, but destined to carry stories of their own.
