Chapter 411: lody is awake
One Year Later:
Izaak entered the chamber he had specifically designed for lody, the air was filled with the roses, which were placed in a brass vase right beside the bedside table.
Last year, after they had left, lody had asked him to turn her into a vampire, a request that had echoed in his mind ever since. He couldn’t turn down her plea; it felt like destiny pulling them together.
After he brought peace to the borders, brought her to the palace in the sa casket that had beco a symbol of their bond.
He caressed her pale face, tracing the contours of her features as he settled down before her. "You look beautiful, lody," he murmured. "It’s strange that a year has passed, yet my love for you has only grown. Whenever I go to bed, I see you first, and whenever I wake up, I co to see you. Without you, my days don’t pass; it feels like you’re right beside , just not in a physical form."
Izaak withdrew his hand from her face, his heart aching with the weight of his feelings. He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to the center of her forehead, as if hoping to bridge the gap between their worlds. The kiss lingered, infused with a promise of love.
He straightened, gazing into her serene expression, and felt a surge of hope. "I miss you every mont, but I know you’ll awaken soon. We have so much to share, so much to build together. Just as you asked, I’ll wait for you. Always."
As he sat in the stillness of the chamber, mories of their shared monts flooded his mind. Each mory was a thread woven into the fabric of his heart, binding him to her even in her absence.
"I’ll keep your favorite flowers by your side," he said, glancing at the vase filled with fresh blooms nearby. "They remind
of you, of the life we will have together when you awaken. I won’t let this ti apart break our bond. We are ant to be, lody."
He took a deep breath, letting the silence settle around him. After so ti, Izaak stood up, ready to change the yesterday’s roses from the ones, he had picked today.
"Aveline is growing fast. Yesterday she was asking about you, lody, asking
when will Aunt lody wake up," Izaak said, "and I replied her soon." He was done placing the roses in the vase. Picking the old one, he glanced at lody one more ti and walked out of the chamber, shutting the door behind him.
"Use the old roses in making the tint," Izaak instructed, handing the bouquet to the attendant, who nodded in understanding.
Inside the chamber, sothing miraculous was happening. lody’s eyes flickered beneath their lids, her fingers began to twitch, and a subtle warmth returned to her pale skin.
The once lifeless hue was fading, replaced by a soft, vibrant glow. Her lips, previously a ghostly shade, were turning a vivid red, as if kissed by life itself.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, lody opened her eyes. The world ca into focus, and the first thing she noticed was the intoxicating scent of roses, filling the air and wrapping around her like a warm embrace.
Confused yet curious, she tilted her head slightly, trying to orient herself in this newfound reality.
lody sat up, her heart racing as she took in her surroundings. Sothing felt different about her body, a subtle power thrumming beneath her skin that she couldn’t quite place.
She glanced at her hands, noticing the delicate lines and the slight sheen of life that now colored them. "Has a year passed already?" she thought.
Swinging her legs over the side of the bed, she stood up cautiously, feeling the unfamiliar strength in her limbs. The roses in the vase caught her eye, and she stepped over to them, plucking one from its stem.
Bringing it to her nose, she inhaled deeply, savoring the sweet fragrance that enveloped her.
But amidst the scent of roses, a stronger aroma pulled at her senses, which was tantalizing and intoxicating.
It was a scent she recognized, a familiar warmth that filled her with an inexplicable longing. Driven by curiosity, she followed the scent, stepping out of the chamber and into the hallway.
"Prince Izaak!" she called.
The mont she spoke, Izaak turned around instantly. His eyes widened as he took in the sight of her standing there. She was awake, and this was the sa scene from the vision he had seen a year ago. lody had a rose in her hand and a soft smile playing on her lips.
"lody!"
Izaak appeared before her in the blink of an eye, disbelief and joy flooding his expression.
"I’m awake," she said, her voice barely above a whisper but filled with a warmth that resonated deep within him.
"Yes, you are!" Izaak exclaid, his hands trembling slightly as he cupped her face, taking ti to believe that it was all real. Every mont of doubt, every sleepless night spent longing for her had led to this.
Without waiting, lody closed the distance, capturing his lips with her own. Izaak was taken aback for a brief mont but quickly lted into the kiss, his hands cradling her neck as he pulled her closer. The warmth of her body ignited sothing within him that had lain dormant for too long.
"I missed you," he murmured against her lips, feeling the rush of emotions swell within him as they breathed heavily.
"I missed you too," she replied, her gaze locking onto his with an intensity that made his heart race. "It feels like I’ve been gone forever, but now... now it’s like no ti has passed at all."
Izaak chuckled softly, brushing a thumb along her cheek. "You’ve been gone, but I’ve kept you close to my heart, lody. I dread of this mont every single day."
She smiled, her eyes shining with affection. "I can feel it. I can feel everything," she said, her voice laced with awe. "It’s... different. Stronger."
"Being a vampire cos with its own set of powers and emotions," Izaak explained, his voice low and filled with seriousness.
"Let’s get married, lody," Izaak proposed imdiately.
"Sure," lody accepted his instant proposal.
They again kissed each other, and this ti it was a long and passionate one full of yearning and love.
