Chapter 36: You’ll regret this, Brother

"Dear Alora,

I heard you have married to Prince Magnus. A day will co when you’ll be the reason for his death. I hope you leave him soon."

"Your Highness, this ssage shows that your life has fallen into danger," Tobias said with a worried glance.

"Why did this person send a ssage to Alora? She cannot read and it is easy to learn because no one could go near her. This ssage was ant for , not her," Magnus stated.

"I will tell about this to the respected King and the Queen," Tobias said, thinking Magnus might then think of throwing away Alora from his life.

"You won’t," Magnus asserted and put the scroll into the bottom drawer of his study desk before locking it.

"I don’t get why His Highness is so adamant about having Princess Alora in his life. Suddenly, Prince Magnus has changed completely. He was never bothered about anyone," Tobias argued. He was worried for Magnus’s life.

"My foolish brother has fallen in love, Tobias," Izaak entered the room and sat down on the chair before Magnus. "How could you beco Alaric? But then, he was in love with a female vampire unlike you, who fell for a human and that too, a cursed woman," he pronounced with a smirk.

"Alora isn’t cursed. Say it one more ti and–"

"This ti I would not let you hit ," Izaak affird after interrupting Magnus in the middle. "Don’t let your life fall in danger because of a human." His tone and expression beca stern. "If Alora is not cursed, then what is she? Don’t you think you have turned into a foolish man?" He raised doubts about Magnus’s behavior.

"Alora got such eyes for a reason. The reason is unknown to . But I’ll find out soon. I’m not you, Brother Izaak, who get scared with such a ssage," Magnus asserted and pressed his finger against his temple.

"Explain the reason to

why she got cursed eyes," Izaak demanded an answer from him.

In a second, Magnus pulled Izaak up by grabbing the collar of his overcoat. "Don’t annoy . And don’t call her eyes cursed." His iris turned into fiery red and his fangs showed up.

"Magnus, she has cursed eyes. You cannot deny this fact. I will tell her that her husband will die if she stays close to him," Izaak said with a grin and pushed Magnus away before running away. Magnus went after him, trying to stop him.

Izaak pushed the door of the study room and found Alora on the chair. Before their gazes could et, he averted them.

"Prince Izaak!" Alora exclaid and lowered her eyes before standing up. "What are you doing here?" She was puzzled to see him.

Magnus reached into the study room and stood in front of Izaak. "Leave!" he said.

"Alora should know for what I am here," Izaak asserted.

Magnus clenched his fists tightly while Alora confusedly glanced in their direction. "What does Prince Izaak want?" she again asked.

Magnus leaned close to Izaak’s ear. "If you tell her, I’m going to rip your heart off. Don’t force

to do that," he warned, his tone dripping with nace.

Rolling his eyes, Izaak begrudgingly conceded. He knew all too well that Magnus was not one to make idle threats. "You’ll regret this, Brother," he muttered. "Fine. I won’t tell her, but only if you agree to let

work alongside you," he added, bargaining for his own safety.

Alora strained to catch their conversation, but their words remained just out of reach for her.

"That will depend on how you act," Magnus whispered and turned around to look at Alora.

"Sister-in-law, my apologies for any alarm I may have caused," Izaak offered his humble apologies. "I simply wanted to share a story about my brother’s mischievous antics as a child. But seeing you’re occupied, I’ll take my leave," he suggested. With a final glance towards Magnus, he turned and departed.

Alora was still puzzled, wondering why Izaak rushed in, and then left with such a weird response.

"Did His Highness fight with his brother?" Alora asked.

"No. Why would I do that?" He ca to the study desk and sat on its edge, looking at the sheet, on which she had been practicing.

"What happened between you two?" Alora changed her question.

"Nothing," Magnus replied and pulled the sheet to him. He smiled to see how beautifully she wrote those alphabets, despite being new to this.

"His Highness is hiding sothing from ," Alora murmured.

"You shall get a reward for what you have written," Magnus said and t her gaze.

"Really?" Alora’s breath caught in her throat as Magnus suddenly materialized in front of her, his hand gently cradling her neck.

Magnus leaned in, nibbling at her lips before pressing her against the desk with a newfound urgency. His kisses, once tender, now possessed an insatiable hunger, leaving Alora gasping for breath as he devoured her, his passion overwhelming.

Alora’s hands instinctively gripped the edge of the desk for support as she surrendered to the intensity of his embrace.

Magnus didn’t wish to lose Alora in this quest to find a cure for her eyes so that she could live normally like others. The way everyone wanted her dead, filled him with discomfort.

He felt her hands on his arms, pressing on them, and gradually withdrew, giving her enough ti to breathe. When their eyes interlocked, he saw how puzzled she was at his act.

"Sothing did happen," Alora murmured while panting.

"No." He again captured her luscious lips, keeping the kiss tender.

Alora pressed her hands on his chest and pushed him away gently. "Your eyes cannot lie to ," she pronounced. Biting her bottom lip, she placed her hand on her cheek and caressed it. "Prince Magnus can share his worries with . I hope he does."

He smiled to hear her and lowered her hand. "I don’t get worried. I make other people worry," he proclaid.
