Chapter 190: To change his heart
Alora waved at her parents and Venus from the carriage window, her heart heavy with the desire to extend her stay at ho. However, duty called; she had to return to the palace because Alaric was scheduled to et Scarlet’s family today, and as mbers of the royal family, their presence was required too.
"Elliot will also be arriving shortly," Magnus inford her, his tone calm yet firm.
"He’s leaving now?" Alora asked with a hint of surprise in her voice.
"Yes. It is important to send him to the training academy as soon as we can. Don’t worry. Griffin will accompany him and make sure he gets settled there. I’ve made every arrangent for Elliot, so that he would not feel left out," Magnus explained.
"Hmm. Thank you, Magnus, for taking care of everything." Alora didn’t forget to express her gratitude toward him.
"Don’t ntion it. I’m more than happy to handle these small matters for you," Magnus replied with a reassuring smile.
Alora smiled as she spotted Elliot approaching Prince Izaak. She greeted the prince warmly before turning her gaze to her brother.
"We will wait for your return, Elliot. If you encounter any trouble, just write to
and..." Her words trailed off, and Magnus smoothly completed the sentence for her.
"And I will take care of it," Magnus stated confidently.
Elliot humd nervously as he swallowed hard. "I think I should get into the carriage," he said, feeling uncomfortable around Alora.
Alora understood her brother’s unease and watched him climb into the carriage. Griffin also sought permission from Magnus to depart and then stepped inside as well.
As they left, Alora heard Magnus say, "Elliot will beco a fine man once he returns from Sakaris. You’ll be proud of him. While he lost a lot of things as a human, he has also gained so exceptional abilities. Once he hones them, he will be a different kind of person– a more confident one."
Izaak nodded in agreent with his brother’s words. "Don’t worry about Elliot anymore. We’ve also caught the culprit," he inford Alora.
"I already told Alora and her family," Magnus interjected. "Those who pranked Elliot will be punished later. Right now, we need to be present in the hall," he asserted.
The trio proceeded to the hall, where the other family mbers were gathered. After greeting the King and Queen, they took their respective seats.
Magnus glanced at Alaric, reading the turmoil in his brother’s mind. Despite his outward composure, Alaric’s inner dissatisfaction was palpable.
Yet, the promise he had made to their father bound him, preventing any retreat. When Magnus turned his gaze to King Esmond, he saw the desperation in their father’s eyes, a fervent hope that Alaric would go through with the marriage.
"Alaric, we are overjoyed that you have agreed to this union," Queen Margaret declared with a smile.
"Your Majesty, Mr. Leninnster and his family are here," the valet inford the King and stepped back.
Andrew Leninnster entered with his wife, Verena Leninnster. Following them were their daughter, Scarlet Leninnster, and her elder brother, Oleander Leninnster. After exchanging formal greetings, Scarlet and her family took their seats.
"For a long ti, we wanted to beco relatives, Andrew. I am glad that you got ready to give the hand of your daughter to my son," King Esmond began with a smile. His extent of happiness was beyond one’s explanation.
"It’s my pleasure to beco the in-law of this royal family. It is my honor, Your Majesty, that you chose my daughter for Prince Alaric," Andrew asserted with a broad smile.
The Queen had already instructed the servants to serve the drinks to everyone present in the hall.
Andrew gazed in Magnus’s direction and looked at Alora. "In the vampire society, Princess Alora has beco popular lately. My daughter told
that you two have beco friends," he said, bringing Alora’s attention to him.
She was a little flustered by the sudden address. As she heard how Scarlet already introduced her as a friend to her family, Alora couldn’t help but acknowledge Scarlet as a friend too.
"Alora has gained her na thanks to her unique eyes. She saved our eldest son," King Esmond said with quite a proud smile.
"That was an impressive part of Princess Alora’s eyes. Everyone used to believe that they were a threat to everyone," Andrew remarked.
Magnus’s patience finally broke and he opened his mouth to speak. "Instead of comnting on my wife’s eyes, perhaps you should discuss your daughter’s marriage to my brother. You were one of those who convinced my parents to keep Alora away from ," he stated, his tone formal yet sharper.
The atmosphere in the hall turned gloomy and the Queen intervened, telling Magnus to see the occasion at least.
"I don’t like to butter up things unlike soone present here, Mother," Magnus promptly responded while keeping his gaze on Andrew. He didn’t like the fact that Andrew trying to win over his parents after doing the damage once.
Alora held his hand when he t her gaze. She gestured to him not to start argunts, and like an obedient person, Magnus listened to her.
"My youngest son always speaks like this. Forgive him, Andrew," King Esmond stated, glaring at Magnus for a brief mont. "Miss Scarlet and Prince Alaric can talk once before we proceed to their ring-exchanging ceremony," he opined.
"Sure, Your Majesty."
"Father, I don’t think we need to talk anything with each other. Miss Scarlet and I shall proceed to the ring ceremony," Alaric suggested.
Scarlet sensed that Alaric intentionally avoided a conversation with her. Because her father insisted on her to accept this proposal, she couldn’t refuse it.
However, now, Scarlet feels she made a mistake. She was aware that Alaric was in love with a woman– the reason why he didn’t even glance or try to find another woman. Would she be able to change his heart? Scarlet was unsure about it, and she let it on her fate
