Chapter 151: Don’t upset , William
Alora exited the coach as she looked at the tall building in front of her. Its top disappeared sowhere in the clouds. The sky was dark today and it felt anyti rain would pour down.
"Shall we go in, Darling?"
Magnus’s voice caused Alora to lower her head slightly before she replied, "Yes."
As they strolled along the lengthy pavent, Alora couldn’t help but notice the unusual serenity enveloping the surroundings. Suddenly, her gaze was seized by the sight of a man, half-conscious and bloodied, being pulled out of the towering building.
Alora’s feet stopped abruptly as Magnus pulled her to his side.
"Greetings to Prince Magnus and," said Nikitin Winderre, the Chief in the Chamber of Discipline, "Princess Alora." He gestured to the guardians to go ahead since he wished to talk to Magnus more.
"I never expected Prince Magnus to be back in the council," Nikitin replied with a surprising gaze.
"I am good at giving unexpected, Nik," Magnus replied.
"Griffin is here too. You’ve beco quite healthy," Nikitin remarked. "Prince Magnus must be taking good care of his servant," he asserted.
"A friend," Magnus corrected him.
"My apologies. I always forget about it because Griffin is not as pure as us," Nikitin didn’t leave any ground to humiliate Griffin.
"But your words make you impure," Alora intercepted. Her gaze locked with hers and she continued, "It’s not tough to forget who is Prince Magnus’s friend or foe. I wonder how you perform your duties when you’ve such a weak mory, Mister."
Nikitin chuckled to hear her response, but he couldn’t say anything to the princess.
Magnus felt proud of how Alora shut Nikitin’s mouth.
"I’m sorry for not introducing myself to the princess. I am Nikitin Winderre," he stated and curtsied to her.
"So, Mr. Winderre, please refrain from comnting anything wrong about Prince Magnus’s friends," Alora affird.
"I’ll keep this in mind, Your Highness," Nikitin asserted, "and I’ve quite a sharp mory. Hopefully, sobody, I get a chance to show my skills to Her Highness." His evil smile made Alora frown and she watched him leave.
"Wasn’t he too rude?" Alora complained.
"Nikitin is the fourth generation pure-blooded vampire of the Winderre Family. What do you expect from him? He treats the converted one in a bad way," Magnus stated, "but you were incredible."
Griffin thanked Alora and Magnus for taking a stand for him.
Alora told him not to thank him as it was their duty to protect their friend.
"Since when did you two beco friends?" Magnus cocked his eyebrow at them.
"Since the first ti you introduced
to Griffin," Alora replied with a smile. "We shall go ahead now," she added and walked ahead of them.
"Princess Alora doesn’t know yet that she cannot argue with everyone here," Griffin whispered.
"Let her enjoy her authority. She had always listened to others and kept quiet. Now, is the ti, she should speak her heart out," Magnus stated. He approached her and held her hand.
"We will go to the Chamber of Discipline, which lies on the fifth storey of this building," Magnus inford her. Griffin, too, followed them closely.
Finally, they reached the 5th floor. Alora’s sight was greeted with the presence of nurous vampires. Seeing Magnus and Alora in the corridor, they already had given them the way, keeping their heads low in respect.
Finally, they were in a spacious room, where Magnus used to work in the past. On the shelves, parchnts, scrolls, and important files could be seen. Alora glanced at the mahogany desk, where on its one side pens, ink pots, and papers were stacked along with an empty journal.
"Have a seat, Alora." Magnus pulled out a chair for her and made her sit on it. "I’ll be back soon. Stay with Alora," he instructed Griffin and left the room.
"Where did Prince Magnus go to?" Alora queried.
"To et the Elder of the Chamber of Discipline," Griffin stated. "There are four elders in the Vampire Council and sixteen chief mbers. Your appointnt was possible only after the Elders and mbers approved it," he explained and set the working table for Magnus.
"So, who is Elder in this departnt?" Alora inquired.
"William Winderre, the one who was opposing your appointnt. He is the closest to the King and has a crucial role in taking judgnts for the kingdom after the King," Griffin asserted.
Their conversation paused as they heard a knock on the door. Griffin went to open it and saw a servant with a stack of docunts in his hands. Griffin took it from him and shut the door.
Placing the stack on the desk, he opened the jute rope tied around them and started checking the docunts.
"Does William not like ?" Alora inquired.
"He doesn’t have any affinity toward any human. Princess Alora isn’t the only exception," Griffin clarified to her.
"I should avoid William then," Alora murmured.
"Yes, you should. Not to ntion, William isn’t either good to his own kind. He only treats pure-blooded vampires well, especially from the elite families. Even we converted vampires avoid him at all costs," Griffin explained to her.
"Where do you use to work before you started working for Prince Magnus?" Alora was curious to know.
"I was an employee in this departnt only," Griffin replied. He separated the docunts in the order of highest priority to the least one.
"Hmm. I wonder if they will perceive
well... I an the Elite Vampires," Alora murmured.
"It will take ti. But I’m sure you’ll win their hearts too," Griffin stated with an encouraging smile to her.

Magnus sat before William with his one leg above the other. "I expected a warm welco from you. Seems like you are not happy with my return," Magnus taunted. He refused the wine and waited for William’s response.
"There will be a small celebration for Prince Magnus’s return to the Council in the evening. Sadly, I cannot welco his wife because I still believe a human’s presence will only be a bother," William truthfully stated.
"Don’t upset , William. I would like you to give
a chance to Alora," Magnus began convincing him. "She needs a welco from all of us," he asserted.
"Prince Magnus loves a human, that’s why he doesn’t understand. He cannot expect the sa treatnt for Princess Alora from us. I hope he understands," William asserted.
"Shouldn’t you show the respect to the royalty then?" Magnus raised his eyebrow at him. "I won’t ask anything else from you. Just don’t make Alora feel low. I will take it on my heart, William," he added.
"Rest assured, Prince Magnus, I will never hurt Princess Alora with my words as long as she stays far from . Maybe my views change after she becos a vampire," stated William. He tilted his head, looking at his slave, asking for the blood.
"Great, then." Magnus left his seat and turned to leave when William stopped him.
"Prince Magnus, out of all the vampires around , I thought you would never fall into the trap of love. I am surprised you are so blinded by love that you refuse to see what can harm our kind," William remarked.
Magnus chuckled as he took his words lightly. Pivoting on the heels of his boots, he turned to face William. "Alora is not a threat to our kind, but our own kind is. Don’t forget the attack on
during my return to Velaris," he stated and left his sight.
William grabbed the cup tightly as he chucked its contents down his throat.
Magnus as headed to his office room greeted by the sight of William’s elder son, Quentin Winderre.
"Greetings to Your Highness. It’s good to see him after such a long ti. I’ve been looking for him only," Quentin stated. "Did His Highness just et my father?" he asked.
"Yes, I was with your father," Magnus replied.
"Your Highness, the King called
to the palace in the early morning. I’ll be investigating about the attack on you and the others," Quentin asserted. "I wanted to ask you if you’ve any suspicion on anyone. It can help
with the investigation," he opined.
"Those vampires were not from this place. I believe they were from the neighboring kingdom. So, you need to search at the borders, which we share with two kingdoms," Magnus elaborated to him.
"That’s strange, Your Highness. Our relationship with the neighboring kingdoms has been well. However, I will try my best to find out the truth behind the attack," Quentin affird.
Magnus went ahead while Quentin resud his work of the day.
As Magnus entered the office room, he ended up seeing Scarlet there, conversing with Alora.
"It seems Miss Scarlet isn’t given enough work. That’s why she is roaming here so freely," Magnus coldly remarked.
"Forgive , Your Highness. I thought to greet the Princess and you," Scarlet asserted.
"Not needed, Miss Scarlet. You shall leave," Magnus pronounced, gesturing to her to leave the room.
