Mauve watched Jean push the door open. He moved in quickly and she walked in after him, shutting the door behind her. They were plunged into darkness before her eyes picked up the candlelight on the table, with Mill sitting on the bench with her arms underneath her head.

She slowly raised her head and smiled softly at Mauve, "Welco back."

"You shouldn't have waited," Mauve cried and rushed to her side.

Mill stood up, yawning a little. "It wasn't so bad. I think I dozed off a little."

"You should have been sleeping in your room," Mauve said with a stern expression.

"And that's what I would do as soon as I get you to your room. It wasn't that bad. You don't have to worry."

Mauve took a deep breath and nodded. "If you say so, but we have to do this for at least another day. I wouldn't want you sitting out here waiting for us the whole ti."

Mill shrugged and picked the light off the table. "I don't mind," she said and walked away from the table and bench, past Mauve to the door leading out of the kitchen. She pushed the door open and held it.

"I do," Mauve said and walked past the door.

"You know nothing you say would change my mind, right? And it's just one more day. I can handle it," Mill yawned again. "I appreciate your concern, but know that I am equally worried about you, so this is sothing we have to both agree to disagree on."

"Fine," Mauve said and walked past her. "But I won't stop talking about it."

"And I will keep telling you it's no problem," Mill chuckled.

Mill led Mauve through the corridor and past the dining hall. They soon ca upon the stairs leading to Mauve's room, and she went up the stairs without saying anything. She got to the top of the stairs and turned to Jean.

"Thanks for earlier. I will try to rember as much of what I learned," she said to him with a soft smile.

"Don't push yourself, I'll write them out and maybe stick the leaves on them if that would help," he chuckled a little.

Mauve's eyes widened, "You can do that?"

"I could," he said as he realized she was taking him seriously. "But I don't think you need it. Tomorrow, I will help you move so of the herbs. You might have issues with a few of them, but you should be able to plant the ones you might need."

Mauve nodded. "Thank you so much. Get enough sleep, and I will see you after sunrise tomorrow. I don't think I need anything more; I feel fine, and the wound doesn't hurt anymore." As if to prove her point, she stretched out her hand to show him, and Jean nodded.

"You are right. Just get so rest and make sure to eat enough."

"You don't have to tell ," she smiled and started walking away.

"Goodnight, Princess. I hope you have a lovely rest," Jean bowed to her back before slowly turning around and heading upstairs, while Mauve continued down the path to her room.

She stopped in front of the door and carefully pushed it open. Jael hadn't asked that they move back to his room, and she hadn't suggested it either. She didn't have any problems with it; they could stay in her room as long as he wanted. It was just that she might have gotten used to his space.

"Thank you, Mill," she said and took the light from her before the vampire could argue. "Get so sleep; I can take it from here." She shut the door and sighed loudly.

"Are you that eager to be alone with ?" A voice said from behind her. It sounded a little too close for comfort.

Mauve felt a small scream escape her lips as fear grabbed at her heart; it was sudden and intense. It was a miracle she didn't drop the light when she heard his voice. "Jael!" She yelled out, the fear she had felt clear in her voice. "You startled ." She turned around to glare at him, trying to mask and forget the fear she had just felt.

"I didn't an to," he whispered. His hair was still down, covering so part of his face, and Mauve could clearly see his blue eyes looking at her from behind the strands.

"I know," she pouted. "It's my own fault for getting so scared."

He smirked as his eyes scanned her. "Did you really think it would be soone other than ?" he asked.

"Of course not," she said and tried to push him aside so she could go past him, but he grabbed her hand, and she was forced to look at him again. "I just didn't expect to get ambushed by the door..." Her sentence trailed off as she got lost in his eyes.

"I would hardly call this an ambush," he smirked.

"What would you call it?" she asked and tried to clear her throat. Why was he standing so close to her?

"A welco," he smiled.

"What? Did you miss ?" she chuckled, not aning the question.

"Of course, I did," he said and scooped her up. Mauve squealed as her legs lifted off the floor. "We should get you to bed."

Mauve nodded as she held the light tightly. She wasn't complaining. She was glad he was being playful. She could tell that the incident bothered him, but she couldn't help but be glad that this ti he wasn't shying away from her.

He wasn't his usual self, but he still wanted to be in the sa proximity with her even though he wasn't happy about his appearance or the incident that had happened.

She knew his pride was more hurt than the injuries he had sustained from the vampire attack. She leaned into him and relaxed her body as she let him lead her to bed. She knew she was going to get a good sleep.
