"Don't apologize to !" Jael yelled and Mauve jerked.
Jael closed his eyes and swore. He wasn't calming down, the more he spoke to her the angrier he got but that wasn't the only thing that bothered him. She wasn't just scared of him right now, she was terrified.
"Go!" He muttered. He could tell that if this conversation continued he was bound to say sothing he would regret that was if he hasn't already.
Mauve didn't wait, she hitched up her dress and fled the kitchen. He had seen the water in her eyes. Jael stretched out his hand to punch the wall but he was able to stop himself in ti. He was sure with the way he felt that the wall would crumble.
Yes, vampires were defenseless against the sun but she didn't have to rub it in his face like that. She was weak, soft, and small but sohow thought she could stand a chance outside because it was daylight.
He didn't understand why she didn't think this through but he was more pissed about the fact that she had tried to keep this from him as though he would have stopped her. He would have but only because he would want to make sure it was safe before he let her go outside.
Jael groaned and grabbed his head, his anger has subsided, and now he was just annoyed. He brought his hands down and slowly made his way out of the kitchen. He was preventing the maids from completing their chores so they could rest for the day.
He stepped out of the kitchen and they both bowed. Mill stepped forward with her head still bowed, he could tell that she wanted to say sothing. "Save it! Get my bath water," he ordered and walked away.
He walked to his room and lay on the bed. He was taking his anger on everyone else and here he thought he was no longer pissed. He couldn't even say specifically why he was pissed. She was fine so there was nothing to be worried about that wasn't resonating with him.
He heard a knock and the door opened, Mack walked into the room and dropped the tub. "Anything else, Sire?" He asked with his head bent.
"No. Return in half an hour!"
"Yes sire," Mack said, nodding rapidly. As soon as the words were out of his mouth he fled the room.
Jael pushed himself to a sitting position and ripped his shirt off, he was certain he tore it but he didn't care. He pulled his pants down in the sa vicious manner and stepped into the tub.
He sat subrged in the cold water and stayed still underwater. He stepped out a few minutes later dripping water onto the carpet. He dried himself and put on so pants.
Jael didn't stop to think, he pushed the connecting door open and walked in. The conversation died imdiately and he saw the maid raise her wide eyes to look at him. She brought her eyes down imdiately and took a step away from the presence.
She bowed and said, "Your grace."
Jael waved his hands at her but she didn't move. He could sll her fear, it was pretty intense. Ever since the night she had approached him, her fear of him tripled.
"Vae, that would be all. I can take it from here." Mauve said, she sat by her dresser and had her back to him. Even though she was aware of his presence she didn't turn to look at him. Maybe, he shouldn't have co here.
"Okay, princess." The maid nodded before fleeing the room.
Jael still hadn't moved from the door, he folded his arms and stared at her.
"Is there sothing you need, sire?" He could hear the sound of her voice. Was she angry?
She was still staring at her reflection as she picked up the braid from where the maid had left off. He was a little ticked off that she wasn't looking at him. He was the one who was angry but here he was in her room. The least she could do was give him her attention.
"Sire?" He took a step forward and her hand stopped moving. He stopped. "You call Jael."
She dropped her hand on the dresser. "My apologies, Sire." Jael felt his eyebrow tic as she repeated the honorific. "But I figured you wouldn't want a weak defenseless little human girl calling you by your na."
If he didn't think she was angry before he knew she was now. He couldn't comprehend why? She was all those things.
"Who you are doesn't change how I want you to address . I don't want to talk about this." He was less angry now but he knew he would likely get angrier soon enough.
"As you wish!" Her words sounded stiff and Jael felt his anger flare. The formal way she was speaking to him annoyed him to no end but he didn't want to go on a yelling spree again. He didn't like the sll rolling off her.
He walked past her and sat on the bed. He pulled the sheets and slipped in. He wanted to sleep that was the only reason he was here. He would rather not have to spend the day alone in his cold bed.
Jael stared at her as he lay in bed. She had finished braiding her hair but she did not attempt to leave the dresser. So ti passed and she still sat stiffly by it. Jael frowned, since he stepped into the room, she had refused to look at him.
"Mauve!" He called and she jerked. Jael swore, he had just wanted to call her attention, not scare her.
"Yes," she answered softly, still with her back to him.
"Co to bed." He ordered.
She stood up chanically and without sparing him a glance walked to the other end of the bed and slipped in. She made sure to stay at the end.
Jael swore, he was the one who was angry but instead of staying in his room, he ca to her. Why was she acting in this manner?
