Mauve brought the warm soup to her lips and sighed in satisfaction when she swallowed. She finished in no ti and placed the spoon in the bowl.

"How do you feel, Princess?" Vae asked.

"Better but in no shape to leave the confines of the bed." She mumbled as Vae took the dirty dish from her lap.

"That's good. Sit up for a while before you lay down."

Mauve groaned in protest but didn't make any move to lie down on the bed. She just stared.

"Would you like sothing else to eat? Mill said to not hesitate to let her know what you want. Also, you don't have to leave your room today, the Vampire King has ordered that all your als be brought to you."

Mauve felt a tingle in her skin as she thought of Jael. She imdiately suppressed the thought of him and laid on the bed.

"Princess," Vae cried. "It is a little too early. Fine," she sighed. "I will let you get so rest, do not hesitate to call if you need anything. Make sure you get adequate rest."

She pulled the sheets over Mauve's shoulders as she spoke and when she was satisfied and sure that Mauve was settled in bed, she quietly left the room.

Mauve closed her eyes, she wasn't sleepy but she knew it would do her good to try to get so rest. Her head still hurt but at least it no longer felt as though it would split open.

She felt arms wrap around her and her eyes flew open but she was alone in her bed. Mauve shook her head, the alcohol must still be getting to her. She closed her eyes again as she tried to get so sleep.

Mauve heard her door open and she was imdiately sucked out of the dream she was having. As soon as she opened her eyes, she knew that even if there was a knife to her throat she still wouldn't be able to rember what the dream was about.

"Princess," Vae cried and walked in with a tray.

From the angle, Mauve laid she could tell the tray was filled with food. She couldn't comprehend how Vae had been able to open the door with the heavy tray in her hands.

Mauve slowly sat upright to Vae's calling.

"No, princess," Vae exclaid. "Let help you."

"I just have a headache, Vae. I am not suddenly handicapped."

"Okay, princess." Vae grinned and dropped the tray on the bedside table. She picked up a cup and gave it to Mauve, "Drink up."

Mauve looked down at what was handed to her and her brows deepened. She closed her eyes and hoped the candlelight was playing tricks. She opened her eyes and it wasn't the candlelight.

She raised her head to look at Vae and the maid was smiling at her, excitedly waiting for her to drink up. "Is this a joke?" She asked, her annoyance evident in her voice.

Vae's face fell. "What do you an, princess?"

"Why would you hand wine when it is the reason I am in this horrible state?" She asked and shoved the cup toward Vae, it was a miracle it didn't spill.

"Oooh," Vae said and her look of confusion disappeared. "It is not red wine princess. It isn't fernted yet so this is just fruit juice."

Mauve frowned and pulled the cup closer to her as she looked at the content one more ti. From the look on her face, she was having a hard ti believing Vae. "Are you sure?" She asked.

"Yes, princess. Just have a taste of it and you can easily tell the difference."

Mauve looked suspiciously at Vae but decided to take her word for it. She slowly took a sip of the cup contents and Mauve couldn't stop drinking.

It was absolutely delicious, it didn't have the bitter taste that the wine had and it slid down her throat easily. She gulped everything before she took the cup away from her lips.

"You want more?" Vae asked with a smirk.

Mauve nodded vigorously. "It was delicious." Her smile was bright.

"I know," Vae smiled back. "I am surprised you haven't drunk this before now."

"You have?" Mauve asked, her face showed interest.

"Of course," Vae responded and Mauve's face imdiately fell. Vae noticed this and imdiately changed the subject. "I will ask Mill to get you so more later. For now, eat everything on the tray."

"Vae!" She exclaid. "You know I can't finish this."

"They are mostly fruits so you can always save them for later. Aside from the soup, you didn't eat anything for the first al and it's past the second al. You have to eat properly or you won't feel good quickly."

"Fine, Vae. I will eat as much as I can." She was already feeling much better, just a little weak.

"Do you need to feed you?" Vae asked.

Mauve glared at her, "No, thank you. Now, shoo. I will call if I need anything."

"Alright," Vae said and slowly made her way out of the room.

Mauve stared at the ceiling before she slid to the side of the bed and slowly began to eat. She finished the food quickly. It wasn't a lot, there were more fruits than anything else.

She drank so water and returned to bed, she rely sat on it. She didn't feel full but she knew she couldn't dive into the fruits imdiately. Her appetite was returning compared to when she has just woken up.

She didn't like being bedridden and she knew as soon as she was better, she would have to find sothing to keep herself occupied or she would really fall sick.

Mauve sat on the bed for a while before she decided to eat the fruits. She ate about half before she got tired and full.

As soon as she finished eating, she got out of bed. She opened the door and walked out. She headed straight for the library and picked a book. She prayed it was sothing worth reading.

She just needed sothing she could enjoy. The title seed simple enough and Mauve hoped it was more of a novel than a book about non-existent herbs.

She took the book and walked out of the library, she got to the door of her room to see Vae walking out of the sa room.

"Princess," Vae cried. "Where did you go?" She looked very worried.

"The library," Mauve answered easily and held up the book for Vae.

"You should have told , I would have gotten it for you. You shouldn't be moving around just yet."

"I am fine, Vae, I have gotten more than enough rest. If I should sleep so more, I am sure my eyes won't open anymore."

"Okay, I am glad you are fine, I was about to ransack the castle looking for you." She stepped aside so that Mauve could walk into the room.

"There is no need for drastic asures, Vae. I leave my room all the ti." Mauve took a step inside and Vae followed after her.

"I know but I was afraid you had collapsed sowhere."

"By the heavens, Vae. My headache isn't that bad anymore."

"Well, you didn't tell this, and considering how you acted this morning, I am allowed to be worried."

"You weren't worried before," Mauve muttered. "You wanted to comb my hair."

Vae sighed, "Because, I thought it would fade soon enough but it didn't even after you took the warm soup and even though I am horrified you would leave your room with your hair in such a terrible state, I am not offering to comb it."

"Thank you, Vae. I am glad you would make such an exception for ." Mauve grinned.

Vae glared at her but didn't say anything about it. "Please, don't leave the room. If you need anything let know and I will get it for you."

"Okay, Vae. Now, if you would leave alone. I would like to enjoy the new book."

Vae bowed and picked up the tray. She walked to the door and slowly looked back at the princess. The look of relief on her face was apparent. She turned the handle and walked out of the room.

Mauve opened the book and imdiately got engrossed, it was a fairytale book. The one about princesses, balls, and princes. Well, just one prince, one princess, and one ball.

Mauve was still engrossed in the book when she heard a knock and Vae pushed the door open.

"You are still reading!" The maid exclaid.

Mauve paid her no mind.

"You are going to worsen your headache. Enough!" She yelled and walked to Mauve. She pulled the book out of her hands.

"Vae!" Mauve called out with wide eyes and tried to get back her book.

"That's enough reading for one day."

"You don't tell what to do."

"Please, princess." Vae pleaded.

"Fine, what's for dinner?"
