Mauve felt the color drain from her face, she had gotten a lot of looks from the Queen and even servants but this was the first ti she had felt the intense feeling soone had for her, just from looking at their face. She didn't need a vampire to tell her the pretty Vampire lady didn't like her one bit.

Her husband started to pull her away. She couldn't help but smile a little at the thought of her husband. She frowned, she didn't know the vampire king, just because he was very handso doesn't automatically make him a good person.

Evidence of what he had done was all over Greenham though there was still the fact that he had insinuated the peace treaty— King Evan was too much of a weakling to do such —it still wasn't enough to wipe the slate clean.

There was no ti for her to be happy, her slavery had already begun. The rest of the event passed in a blur and the next thing she knew she was back in her room undressing from her wedding dress into sothing more appropriate, traveling clothes.

She was to leave tonight, even though it took almost two weeks by carriage to get to the vampire Kingdom. Nobody cared that she needed to rest after a hectic night of barely getting any sleep.

It was barely an hour to dawn and it was basically the sa amount of sleep she had gotten all night. She yawned as the maids struggled to wear her boots. The idea that she would have to endure traveling for that long didn't sit right with her. Vampires had it easy.

She thought Vae looked a bit an and was being overly aggressive towards her as they struggled with the boots but she didn't want to pay it any attention. She would be gone in a few minutes, there was nothing here for her to be worried about.

The outfit she wore was a bit loose and worn-out. She had picked the outfit herself. There was no way in hell she would wear a corset for that long. She might have ti to stop and wash up but what if she has to run? Considering how treacherous the vampire's region was rumored to be, she wasn't taking any chances.

Also, she was not expecting any special treatnt anymore, the charade of being the princess was over now she was the vampire king's property, the only thing she could hope for was that this ant sothing to the rest of the vampires.

They tied her hair into a ponytail as she had requested and she knew she was ready. She walked out of the room quickly, giving the guards access as they quickly rushed into the rooms to get her bags.

She didn't pause to see what they wanted to do, rather she kept walking. As bad as she didn't want to go to the vampires, she didn't want to stay in the castle for a mont longer.

There was no Cavalry waiting for her as she traipsed to the castle doors. Their huge doors stood open like they couldn't wait for her to leave. As she slowly approached them, she rembered the first ti her mother brought her to the castle, they had not dared to use the castle's main entrance but look at her, walking out of the castle using the main entrance, her mother would have been proud.

At age five, she had thought the castle was a giant's house. Sohow she and her mother had managed to climb the beanstalk as Jack had and now they were in the giant's house, only there weren't any giants because Jack already got rid of them.

More than a decade later, she still thought the castle was huge but she no longer thought giants lived here, just monsters. She almost laughed but it sounded more like a sob than anything else.

She could hear the maids and guards trying to keep up with her. They finally did as she stepped onto the huge stairs. She didn't miss the two carriages that stood feet apart from each other barely an inch from the stairs.

She frowned at the sight of them, wondering what the extra carriage was, it wasn't like she had any properties in the castle. Almost all the clothes she packed were hand--down from the Queen, the only new clothes she had was her wedding dress.

She had made sure not to leave it behind. It had been made especially for her. She couldn't rember the last ti sothing like that happened. She rolled her eyes, now was not the ti to think of sad things. This was her future now, the faster she would accept it the better for her.

"What's the extra carriage for?" She asked no one in particular.

"Your Highness, the King and the Queen wedding gifts for the princess and of course a few items from the Aristocrats." A proud guard quickly replied.

Mauve didn't dignify his reply with a reply of hers rather she imdiately walked into the carriage that a guard held open for her. She didn't need their gifts, the hypocrites. Not one of them showed up to say farewell to her even though they were willing to throw her into the lion's den. Not even her father.

She scoffed as the guard helped her into the castle. She didn't need their gifts, and neither did she need anybody's sympathy. Unconsciously, her face fell as she realized she was alone. The vampire King was nowhere to be found.

She felt sad, she had expected this but she wouldn't have minded if he had disappointed her. Now, she just felt disappointed that she was right.

What was wrong with her? All she seed to think about was his bright blue eyes. She sighed and leaned against the carriage seat. She might as well get comfortable. This was going to be a long ride.

Her stomach grumbled a little and she rembered she had not eaten anything since dinner ti and considering she had stayed up all night, it was no surprise she was hungry.

The other side opened suddenly and Mauve jerked. Her heartbeat increased at the thought of who was climbing in. "Vae!" She literally scread as the maid's head appeared in her line of sight. "What are you doing?"
