Danag bent his fra to the figure standing in front of the open doors. He wasn't the only one bowing, all the guards in the vicinity had their heads bowed, but only Erick didn't bow.

"Thank you for showing up on such short notice. I am sure you must have gone out of your way. It mustn't have been an easy trip. I am so sorry for calling you out like this but I had no other choice and I seed to be running out of ti. You're the only option left. Please, help." Danag lanted, his head still bowed as he spoke.

"Cut the formality, Danag. You're making sound like so God. However, what the heck? The castle is in a much better shape than I have ever seen it. Kieran told Jael was making renovations, I didn't think it was this excessive."

"Yes, the Sire has been working tirelessly."

"Tirelessly? That doesn't sound like Jael at all. However, I suspect that's why I am here."

"I assu you read my letter?" Danag asked.

"Yeah," he said, still looking around. "It's the only reason why I am here. You said it was a matter of life and death."

"I believe it is," Danag replied, nodding his head as he stood to his full height.

"I knew that bastard was crazy but to act out like this. What is he, five?"

"Please co with , I will take you to your chambers. I am sure you must be tired."

"That can wait. Where is he?"

"In his study, thankfully," Danag said, he sounded and looked exhausted. There were dark circles under his eyes.

"Today he isn't out chasing Palers even though we have a squad for that and our squad is doing quite well. It has been a month since we went full operational but still, it doesn't stop the Primus from acting out all by himself. I knew I had to get you when we found him bleeding out in the middle of the forest. If we hadn't found him on ti…" Danag's voice cracked. "You understand how serious this is."

"Yeah, surprisingly. I never would have thought this day would co."

"He won't listen to anyone. He is like a wild beast, you can't even co close but I hope you can get through to him and the root of the matter."

"I want to say leave it to but you and I know just how stubborn he can be." He sighed and touched his head, "I'll try my best but I can't promise. However, I will stake my life on it."

"Thank you, your lordship," Danag said, bending his knee.

"Oh co on, Danag. I'm not Jael, seeing you bowing to irritates ."

"You have no idea what it ans that you ca at my request. This is my fault, I shouldn't be asking your help to fix it," Danag replied.

"Enough of your whining. I've known you as long as he has, I'm sure your reasons are good enough. The Buffoon doesn't see it but you have our best interest in heart."

"Thank you but it's not enough justification and I am ready for the consequences. I miscalculated. I thought she was a nuisance. I guess I was wrong. She might be a nuisance but the Vampire Regions would be in a worse state without the Primus."

"Willing to admit you're wrong is the first step to being right. However, I wouldn't say that admitting you're wrong. Anyway, you're taking this a little too seriously. Let handle it first then you can panic after."

"Thank you."

"I haven't done anything yet and who are those behind you?"

"Oh, I apologize for not introducing them. This is Erick, Son of Drusile."

"Drusile? I think we've t."

"Yes," Erick stretched out his hand, a little too happily. "It was a long ti ago. It is such an honor to et you."

"Honor? You flatter . And you?" He said pointing to Damon.

"This is Damon the head guard. Together, we are the Primus' personal guards."

"What? I thought Jael would appoint you the head guard."

"He did, a lot of things happened."

"Is that so? Well then, you can fill in on everything else later. Right now, there is soone I need to see."

"Yes, of course. I will lead the way." The words were barely out of his mouth before Danag rushed forward, walking toward the stairs.

"By no ans do I think you're not worthy of the post. If Jael appointed you, I'm sure you have the skills to show for it," he said to Damon.

"I may but I do think Danag is best suited for it."

He raised a brow, "Well said." He chuckled, "I like him already."

He followed behind Danag with Damon and Erick behind him. They got to the top of the stairs and he said, "I can take it from here. I know where the study room is."

"Are you certain? We can accompany you," Danag said, looking from Damon to Erick.

"There is no need. I am sure he already knows I am here with his weird ability. One of the things that separates the Primus from the rest of us. Tch."

"As you wish," Danag bowed again.

The figure nodded to the guards and then turned, making his way to the study. He didn't bother knocking as he got to the door, rather he pushed it open as hard as he could, almost ripping the door out of his hinges.

"What is this I hear?" He chuckled as he walked in, the door closing behind him, it made a soft click as it slipped into place. "That you're being reckless because you got dumped."

Jael raised his head from his desk, his eyes glowing. "You Vagabond! I haven't seen you for almost four decades and that's the first thing you say to . The nerve Louis, you seem to not know your place. Have you gone nuts from moving around so much?"
