Aira instantly dashed forward, pulling the projectile out before going ahead to heal her mother with her ability.

She knew Liora didn’t an it as she watched her stumble back in alarm, and she also cooled down, aware that the wound wasn’t life-threatening.

Even if it was, her mother was human, and she would be in no danger of dying while she was around.

But barely had she begun to heal her wound when her mother slowly began to wail.

"No!" She begged and pleaded like a child.

"Please! Don’t heal !" She begged. "Let die! Let die!" Her screams grew louder the more she spoke, even as she tried to avoid Aira’s hands.

Let join my master! she scread in an almost manic way that terrified Aira, who had healed her, and Liora, who stood right behind her, shaking as she stared at her hands.

Murmuring under her breath with a horrified look on her face that almost looked crazy, Liora whispered, "I...I didn’t an to hurt her...I would never..." she mumbled over and over again, and Aira already had her hands full trying to calm her mother down.

But the more she tried, the more frantic her mother beca. Aira did not let her go until she was completely sure that she was entirely healed and the wound was non-existent.

Sothing that clearly displeased her mother, but Aira didn’t care, as she simply moved to sit by the side, waiting for both of them to slowly calm down.

She herself needed a minute to calm down, glancing at her mother and realizing that her powers didn’t work on healing her mind.

She looks normal, but she is clearly broken inside. It was the only explanation for why she refused to accept reality.

Who would easily accept that they willingly killed their own son? she realized. Even if her mother didn’t care about her husband... even her... there was no way she would believe that she didn’t care for Eiran.

Slowly, she got on her feet as she fixed her eyes on Selira, who had bundled herself at the head of the bed, unlike before, when she had been lying on it.

"I’ll leave you be! Clearly, you need so ti to yourself!" She said, hoping to reach out to Savira, the vampire doctor, for a solution, even as she turned to head out of the room.

Beckoning to Liora as she left, she gently grabbed her arm as they stepped out of the room. But not before Liora whispered a soft apology under her breath as she t her mother’s eyes.

"I’m sorry!" Liora said as she stepped out of the room to Aira too, the mont they got out.

"I... I don’t know what I was thinking!" Liora continued, shaking her head in an almost manic way.

"I... I should never..." she gasped for breath in between, "...she’s my mother..." she said out loud as tears filled her eyes.

"I... I was just so mad!" She almost wailed, even as Aira nodded her head, walking a few steps away from the room, pulling Liora in for a hug, only to have her flinch away like she had been burned.

Even as she went ahead to put more distance between them, like Aira was carrying a disease she would not like to catch.

"Liora!" Aira softly called out. "...Are you okay?" she gently asked when it beca obvious that she wasn’t.

Sothing was clearly wrong with how she was behaving.

It can’t be blood, she thought, since simply from Zyren’s reports, Liora was feeding well, which was sothing she refused to admit, being aware of it herself.

"If there’s sothing wrong, you can tell !" Aira said, doing her best to convince Liora to open up, stepping closer, only to watch as her blood sister instantly stepped back.

A scared look on her face worried Aira more as she silently stared at her. It would be an understatent to say how worried she was.

Her sister was avoiding her and wouldn’t even et her gaze. She looked pale, and from the deep wound on her palm—one that Aira could not heal—it was obvious that sothing was seriously wrong.

"If you won’t talk to , then at least talk to Savira, the vampire doctor! She might be able to help!" Aira asked, knowing that if she could not help, then at least Savira might be able to.

But Liora was already shaking her head, even as tears filled her eyes. Only she wasn’t aware of what she had done, and it was only she who knew how far things had progressed.

There is no way Aira could help ... and neither could Savira! she thought, feeling it deep in her chest, deep in her very bones.

"You won’t get it! You don’t understand! The... the voices..." she muttered under her breath, but Aira was still close enough to hear her as she dared to take a step closer.

"...It’s okay! Even if I can’t fix it! I can listen!" Aira told her, staring right into her eyes as she spoke.

"There is nothing you can do that can make hate you! I am your sister, and we only have each other!" Aira said, aning it, considering the fact that at that mont their mother was half mad.

"I LOVE you! I will always love you!" Aira slowly said, until she was standing right in front of Liora at the top of the stairs to the second floor.

"I care about you! I can’t watch you in pain and do nothing about it!" Aira said, even as more tears flooded Liora’s eyes, and she opened her mouth, lips quivering.

"I... I think I’m turning into a Mon..." she was about to finish uttering the word when a scream filled the space instead.

It ca from outside, but it was loud enough for Aira and Liora to pick up on, especially the words that instantly followed.

"...Soone jumped from the second floor!"
