"Master, the Imperial Guard has entered the mansion to raid."
Wan Chun rushed into the bedroom of the Princess Consort, full of panic.
The Princess Consort of Prince Min was suffering from a cold, lying feebly in bed, and she paused upon hearing the news.
"Raiding the house?"
"Yes, people have rushed in, seemingly to arrest rebels."
The Princess Consort furrowed her brows, a figure flashed through her mind but she couldn’t grasp it, so while getting out of bed, she asked, "Where are the Prince and the Dowager? Have they returned to the mansion?"
They were at the palace banquet, and now with the house being raided, what about them?
"No sign of them yet; if it happened suddenly, they’re likely detained at the palace." Wan Chun asked with a sob: "Master, what should we do?"
The Princess Consort said, "First, help get dressed, don’t pick the complicated ones, pick the warm ones."
Wan Chun nodded and imdiately rushed to open the wardrobe, pulling out thick clothes.
As she moved, the Princess Consort did not idle, getting out of bed, she began to tie her hair, but as she took two steps, her legs gave way, nearly falling to the ground.
"Master." Wan Chun rushed over.
"I’m fine." The Princess Consort said hoarsely, "Help get dressed."
Wan Chun gathered her spirits, dressed her in the clothes, layering cotton garnts onto her, and without worrying about appearances, she draped a thick tiger skin cloak over her, uncertain where they might be taken, with her master ill, she must be dressed warmly.
"Open the small box and hide so silver notes on ." The Princess Consort instructed while moving to the dressing box, opening it, and chose two or three solid golden hairpins to insert into her hair.
The two didn’t gather many belongings; just as they finished, a strange voice was heard from outside.
"The Emperor has decreed, the Prince Min Mansion intends to harm the Emperor, all within the mansion are to be taken to the Court of Clans for investigation, requesting the Princess Consort to move."
Wan Chun’s face turned pale, wasn’t it supposed to be rebels they were arresting, how did it turn into harming the Emperor?
The Princess Consort firmly gripped Wan Chun’s arm, took a deep breath, and slowly stepped out the door.
Outside the door, stood a stern soldier wearing armor and a helt with a feather.
"May I ask who you are?"
"Subordinate Wang Yang, head of the Imperial Guards, please, Princess Consort."
The Princess Consort looked at him, "Did you say the mansion’s cri is harming the Emperor? Do you have evidence?"
"Reporting to the Princess Consort, this subordinate is rely following orders, the intricacies of right or wrong will be thoroughly investigated by the Court of Clans, please, Princess Consort, move." Wang Yang’s voice was indifferent.
The Princess Consort saw his businesslike deanor and said, "There are young won within the mansion, please Mr. Wang, restrain your n, so as not to frighten them."
"Rest assured, Princess Consort."
Only then did the Princess Consort start walking forward, as she left the courtyard, she faintly heard cries of terror, servants running in panic, and so sneaking around were caught by soldiers.
She instinctively looked towards the direction of the North Garden.
Wang Yang raised his eyebrows, following her line of sight, his eyes glimred, and signaled soone to escort the Princess Consort, while he headed towards the North Garden.
The Princess Consort pressed her lips together, pretending not to notice.
Upon reaching the second gate, the crying was deafening, the concubines and mistresses were all gathered together, Consort Ji was shouting loudly for the Prince and Dowager, terrified.
"Princess Consort." Concubine Fang, pale-faced, rushed over for comfort.
The Princess Consort sighed, patting her hand, "Take it easy."
Concubine Fang felt a heart of despair, who the heck can take it easy, she had just entered the family, how co she encountered such misfortune?
Raiding the house, raiding the Prince Mansion?
