Back in country H, Li Yanchen’s original plan of shortening his trip to three days had failed because of so data error in the contract.
He unwillingly asked Secretary Han to change his flight ticket. He texted Lin Wan. “I won’t be able to return tomorrow. Sothing ca up. I will try to return by Monday morning.”
When Lin Wan saw the ssage, he felt an indescribable emotion. She replied with an “OK” emoji.
On Sunday morning, Luo Xi went to the Mumu Ti Café on Yun City’s old street. The café belonged to him. He gave his staff a day off and waited there for Lin Wan and Yang Youyou to arrive.
Mumu Ti was located in the old town of Yun City. The shop had an ancient-style aesthetic complete with green tiles and red bricks. There were also a few old-fashioned chandeliers. Looking at the place, no one would think it served a modern beverage like coffee. But Mumu Ti was popular for its delicious coffee on the internet.
The blogger who had written about Mumu Ti couldn’t make sense of the fact whether it was famous for its special and nostalgic decoration or because of its unique variety of coffee, or perhaps because of the fa of the owner. There were always a few custors waiting in a line at the door even before it opened for the day.
To make sure the shop was free for today, Luo Xi had hung up a “Closed for the day” sign at the gate.
When Li Yanchen left for the business trip, he had assigned Assistant Qin as Lin Wan’s driver to drop her and pick her up whenever she wanted to travel. So, Assistant Qin was always aware of where Lin Wan was.
Lin Wan had sent a text to Xia Mo in the morning asking for leave from the livestream today.
She didn’t dress up too much, and her curly hair fell over her shoulders. She wore a black Hepburn dress and a white rmaid-shaped hairpin in her hair over her ear.
It took an hour to reach Mumu Ti Café from Royal Water Bay. To avoid Assistant Qin the trouble of having him run back and forth, Lin Wan told him to wait at the old town entrance.
“Isn’t that the female celebrity who covered “Like the Wind”? She looks so beautiful.”
“Yeah, that’s Lin Wan. I really like her personality. She’s not pretentious at all. She’s so cool.”
“Why did she co to the old town alone?”
…
A few people whispered at the side of the road when they saw her. After a while, they all sward towards Lin Wan saying, “We love you, Lin Wan.”
Lin Wan had not expected people to recognize her here in the old town area. She covered her face with her handbag. “I am sorry. You’ve got the wrong person,” she said.
At the entrance of Mumu Ti Café, Luo Xi looked around and saw a woman rushing to the café followed by a few people behind her. She was wearing sunglasses. Luo Xi wasn’t sure whether it was Lin Wan or not.
Lin Wan stopped when she saw the board with the words “Mumu Ti Café”. The man standing at the door was a little different from the picture on the post in the forum, but she recognized him. He was Luo Xi. She took off her sunglasses.
Other than her hair and the dress, Lin Wan looked exactly the sa as before.
Luo Xi was speechless for a mont. “Lin Wan…” He felt lucky to be able to call her by her na again.
The only person he had liked since he was a teen. Even though they had taken different paths in their lives, he could not control the racing of his heart when he saw her again.
“It’s been a long ti,” Lin Wan said the standard greeting.
She looked at him. His face was full of emotions. Lin Wan realized that it was impossible for him not to have a history with the original owner from the way he reacted.
Yang Youyou arrived shortly after. “Luo Xi? Lin Wan?”
“Yang Youyou! How nice to et you!” Only then did Luo Xi return to his senses.
They finally realized that people were taking their pictures with their phones, so he ushered them both inside the café.
Lin Wan and Yang Youyou sat at the bar while Luo Xi made coffee. He tried not to stare at Lin Wan.
