Su Yingxue once again learned the whole process from Zhilan. It started because she had been indulged by her mother since childhood, monopolizing too much of her mother’s attention. This caused Long Shuli to care less about Su Hao, sending him away to the military camp without much fuss and focusing all her efforts on raising this daughter.

Su Hao felt very unbalanced inside, and so he always kept a cold distance from his sister.

Most unexpectedly, she and Wu Jinyan t at the clinic, and Wu Jinyan happened to have a crush on Su Hao. Su Yingxue thought to bring the two together.

However, the person Su Hao was interested in turned out to be Wu Jinyan’s direct sister, Wu Ruofei.

But since she helped to connect them, Wu Jinyan ended up with Su Hao in a fait accompli, and they had to get married.

Up to now, Su Hao is still very cold toward Wu Jinyan.

It is imaginable how much he must despise her, his ddling sister.

It’s normal for him not to visit her.

If he cared and ca to visit her, she would actually be in danger.

Su Yingxue’s head ached.

Lying on the bed, she thought again of Chu Yihan.

Although she pleaded with her mother not to cause trouble for him and Imperial Concubine Shu, he probably still despises her.

The warmth of his body...

Su Yingxue fell asleep, full of longing.

In the Imperial Concubine Shu’s palace.

She constantly worried restlessly about Chu Yihan, not sleeping well, often waking from nightmares. The mother and son waited all day, and the palace was quiet.

Long Shuli did not co to trouble them again, and neither the emperor nor the empress sent anyone over.

Everything was as usual.

In the evening, Imperial Concubine Shu drank sleeping pills and gradually relaxed, "Fortunately, this matter did not stir up much trouble."

By contrast, she suddenly thought, "Princess Shu Li hasn’t visited the palace again; could it be Miss Su is too severely injured and she couldn’t leave her side?"

If that is true, the pain Chu Yihan would have to endure, when Su Yingxue recovers, is likely going to be even greater!

Imperial Concubine Shu’s heart tightened, tears instantly filling her eyes.

Chu Yihan brought warm water to comfort her, "Mother, have peace of mind. Whatever happens, I will protect you."

He would never let his mother suffer harm.

As for what happens after Su Yingxue’s recovery, how Long Shuli and Marquis’s Manor want to settle scores with him...

Chu Yihan’s lips curled into a cold sneer, "Let the Marquis’s Manor do as they please."

This life of his is enough to endure their toss-ups.

"Your Highness!"

Mo Qi entered from outside the palace and knelt on one knee in front of Chu Yihan, "I’ve discovered that there was no movent from Marquis of Martial South’s Manor today. Su Yingxue woke up last night, and although her injuries are severe, her life is not in danger. Princess Shu Li didn’t enter the palace to ask the emperor to punish you."

"Really?" Imperial Concubine Shu’s eyes widened in surprise.

Mo Qi nodded, "Yes, Your Majesty! Today, the emperor sent the Seventh Prince to visit Su Yingxue, and Miss Su didn’t ntion Your Highness; you are safe now!"

"That’s great." Tears fell from Imperial Concubine Shu’s eyes, but they were tears of joy.

Chu Yihan helped her finish a cup of warm water, after which she fell into a peaceful sleep.

Chu Yihan handed the teacup to Mo Qi and left the imperial palace, heading back to the prince’s mansion.

It had been many years since he last returned to his mansion, and although it was simple, it was still clean and elegant.

"Your Highness, it seems like Su Yingxue really intends to let you go this ti," Mo Qi said in a low voice, following closely by Chu Yihan’s side.

"Heh." Chu Yihan’s lips curled into a mocking smile, not believing it in the slightest.

If that were truly the case, he wouldn’t despise her so much.

She was like a demoness, wreaking havoc in his life.

Upon hearing Chu Yihan’s cold laughter, Mo Qi also felt that Su Yingxue was most likely putting on an act, and maybe when she recovered from her injuries, she would still co to pester His Highness, perhaps even using more despicable ans to force him into submission.

Thinking of this, Mo Qi felt an extre disgust towards Su Yingxue.

Su Yingxue sneezed at ho, "Achoo—"

She wiped her nose, guessing, "Is Chu Yihan cursing again?"

Zhilan brought her so dicine, "Miss, didn’t you stop liking the Ninth Prince? After lying down for three days, do you like him again?"

Su Yingxue quickly shook her head, "Just rembered it, that’s all. After drinking the dicine, I want to walk in the yard, help there."

"The Seventh Prince is here, wouldn’t you rather take a walk in the courtyard with the prince?" Zhilan blinked mischievously, a teasing smile in her eyes.

Su Yingxue rubbed her head, not rejecting the suggestion.

During the days she was recuperating, Chu Chengye visited her daily, more diligently than her own mother.

She was not a heart of stone; just yesterday, she had a al with Chu Chengye.

A walk together today really wouldn’t hurt.

After changing her clothes, Su Yingxue was supported by Zhilan as they walked out of the house.

Her courtyard was the most spacious and magnificent in the Marquis’s Manor. Beyond her own pavilion lay Cui Lake, with an arched bridge over the water, a lowland along the shore, and two white cranes basking in the sunlight, lifting their proud heads topped with a splash of bright red, looking utterly noble.

Chu Chengye stood on the bridge, his back to the vibrant lake and proud cranes, wearing a gemstone blue robe, holding a folding fan, his tall figure exuding gentlemanly elegance and a handso smiling face, imdiately making one feel open and bright-hearted, as if being bathed in the spring breeze.

A very handso man indeed.

Looking this way, Su Yingxue thought that Chu Chengye was quite attractive.

Not compared with Chu Yihan, his looks could rank as the fairest in Jiang Du City.

Su Yingxue, wearing a tender yellow dress, slowly approached him, supported by Zhilan. Before she could speak, Chu Chengye ca forward and said, "Are you feeling better today? If I had known, I would have brought more gifts to celebrate."

Quite eager indeed.

Su Yingxue smiled, "It’s nothing serious, not worth Your Highness’s trouble. Your gifts have already filled the storeroom."

She felt quite embarrassed.

"If you like, I will move my own storeroom for you," love and sincerity filled Chu Chengye’s eyes, truly looking like he deeply adored her.

Su Yingxue felt even more embarrassed, but Chu Chengye considered her feelings and did not say more, leading her to take a few more steps in the courtyard.

He shared the fresh happenings around Jiang Du City with her, ntioning the last ti at the Regional Prince’s Mansion, "That deputy general Song has been ordered to return to Jiang Du and will likely co back soon. Should you arrange for him to et Su Han then?"

Su Yingxue was surprised, "He’s coming back so soon?"

She hadn’t yet sought help from her family.

"It was I who spoke to the military camp, thinking you might be too preoccupied with your injuries. But since you had such thoughts, I naturally wanted to help you with that," A breeze brushed lightly through Chu Chengye’s hair, making him look exceedingly gentle.

Su Yingxue was slightly moved, "Your Highness, you truly take great care of , and that’s wonderful."

"Do you like it?" Chu Chengye asked cautiously.

Su Yingxue nodded, "I like it."

"Then... could you possibly like ?" The man’s voice trembled, filled with eagerness, anxiety, and panic, each emotion swiftly crossing his eyes.
