Chapter 729: Chapter 729: Confession

Zhong Niangyao shook her head and smiled lightly, “I wasn’t thinking much, just grateful that I have great-uncle and great-aunt. Otherwise, Zhong ngfan really couldn’t have been saved this ti.”

It seed that Old Madam Zhong had noticed Niangyao’s confusion and chuckled, “You find it strange, don’t you, that your great-uncle and great-aunt were so willing to save ng Fan this ti?”

Zhong Niangyao chuckled slightly, feeling a bit embarrassed, “I shouldn’t overthink it, but it really shocked that they readily sacrificed their own vitality for Zhong ngfan this ti!”

“It’s not surprising,” Old Madam Zhong continued looking at Niangyao, “Although your great-uncle and great-aunt are sowhat utilitarian and usually have many complaints about ng Fan, don’t forget one thing—they are parents.”

“Your grandfather and I may not consider ourselves model parents, but we have taught our children how to be parents.”

Upon hearing Old Madam Zhong’s words, a flicker of realization crossed Niangyao’s eyes.

Indeed, whether it’s Zhong Minghao or Zhong Mingyu, they were utilitarian daily and wanted to secure the most benefits for themselves. They might not be the best at educating their children, but it’s undeniable that they never gave up on their own children.

Old Madam Zhong smiled and spoke up, “Niangyao, have you been troubled by sothing lately? You seem to be daydreaming often!”

“No, not at all!” Zhong Niangyao blinked, then laughed, “I don’t have any troubles!”

But she did. These past days, she had been thinking about how to bid farewell to Old Sir Zhong and Old Madam Zhong. She was about to leave this small world and return to her own.

After returning to the Divine World, she wouldn’t co back to this small world until she found the person who wronged her in the past. She didn’t know how long her departure would be, or even if she would ever return.

It was for this reason that she had agreed to Lu Yichen’s proposal to have a wedding in this small world before leaving. She didn’t feel much for the parents of this world, but she had grown fond of Old Master Zhong and Old Madam Zhong.

And because she cared, she was unsure how to bring it up.

“Yaoyao, you can’t hide it from .”

Old Madam Zhong looked at Niangyao, “I have experienced much more than you. As the old saying goes, I’ve eaten more salt than you have rice. Can’t I tell when you are troubled?”

“It’s really nothing.” Zhong Niangyao hadn’t figured out how to explain.

As if she thought of sothing, Old Madam Zhong spoke again, “Yaoyao, why are you getting married so early?”

Caught off guard, Zhong Niangyao fell into silence. She didn’t know how to respond—she couldn’t just say she didn’t want to leave any regrets.

After thinking for a mont, Niangyao replied, “Grandma, there’s no specific reason! Yichen and I are engaged, and marriage is just the natural next step.”

“That’s not right.” Old Madam Zhong beca anxious, her eyes intently fixed on Niangyao as if trying to read sothing from her face, “Previously, we had agreed that you would get married after graduating from university. Now suddenly you want to marry—sothing must have happened.”

Zhong Niangyao opened her mouth, initially wanting to fabricate an excuse, but seeing the serious look on Old Madam Zhong’s face, she decided not to continue the deception.

“Grandma, I—” After hesitating for a mont, Zhong Niangyao spoke, “Yichen and I need to leave for a while after we get married.”

“Leave?” Old Madam Zhong was puzzled, “Where are you going? Are you going on a trip or sothing?”

She had heard that nowadays, young people liked to go on honeymoons after getting married, which was essentially a trip for the newlyweds to strengthen their relationship. Thus, she assud that Niangyao was doing the sa.

“No,” Zhong Niangyao shook her head, “Grandma, Yichen and I have so matters to attend to, and we’ll be gone for quite so ti.”

She hadn’t planned to reveal this, but seeing the concerned look in her grandmother’s eyes, she decided to tell the truth. She didn’t want to deceive the woman who had always been so loving to her. Since they were leaving, they might as well say a proper goodbye!

Seeing Niangyao’s serious deanor, Old Madam Zhong sensed that the situation was serious.

She straightened up, a trace of nervousness in her expression as she watched Niangyao, “Yaoyao, did sothing happen to your health? Tell the truth, I can handle it.”

Zhong Niangyao’s solemn look had sparked this ominous premonition in her. The thought of Niangyao being in trouble made her unavoidably anxious.

“No.”

Seeing that Old Madam Zhong was misunderstanding, Zhong Niangyao almost wanted to laugh and cry at the sa ti, “Grandma, what are you thinking? I’m perfectly healthy! Didn’t you see just save Zhong ngfan?”

“If I can cure ng Fan’s strange diseases, what sickness could possibly trouble ?”

Seeing that Niangyao didn’t seem to be lying, Old Madam Zhong let out a sigh of relief, then laughed, “You girl, you really scared . If I weren’t in good health, I might have had an accident just now.”

“Grandma, how was I to know you would overthink?” Zhong Niangyao looked innocent, shrugged her shoulders, and smiled, “It’s your own rich imagination that I can’t control, right?”

As Old Madam Zhong cald down, she rembered what Niangyao had just said and imdiately pressed, “What did you an by what you just said? It was your strange words that made think that way.”

Niangyao continued to maintain her smiling facade, appearing relaxed, “It just ans what it says! Yichen and I need to leave to handle so affairs, and it might be a long ti before we can co back to see you.”

And it might even an not seeing each other again.

Old Madam Zhong was sowhat puzzled, “Yaoyao, why do you seem so mysterious? What can’t you tell ?”

“It’s nothing.” Zhong Niangyao shook her head, smiling as she spoke, “Grandma, I can’t tell you the specifics. But, we will be separated for a long ti. Grandma, you must take good care of yourself and Grandpa until I return, okay?”
