Chapter 626: Chapter 626: Accommodate a Bit

As Yi Lin’s silhouette vanished from sight, Baili Hengyuan sat down, furrowing his brow as he spoke, “Nianyao, what do you think, will Yi Lin send away Yi Huai’s children?”

“He will,” Zhong Niangyao replied with certainty. “Yi Huai’s death is now a certainty, but Yi Lin absolutely dares not risk the entire Yi Family just to save Yi Huai’s children.”

To be precise, if it hadn’t been for what just happened, Yi Lin might have felt pity for his son because of Yi Huai’s death and consequently softened his heart to keep Yi Huai’s children. As compensation, he might even have treated them better.

However, following the recent incident, he had even felt as though he had skirted death himself. After witnessing Zhong Niangyao’s strength, his resolve to protect Yi Huai’s children had already faltered.

Faced with choosing between his grandson and himself, Yi Lin was a wise man; he knew which option to choose.

Baili Hengyuan nodded, yet he felt puzzled again, “How could Yi Huai have died so suddenly? Nianyao, who do you think killed him?”

“Who knows?” Zhong Niangyao’s face was calm, betraying no sign of difference, “Mom and he grew up together. Even without romantic feelings, they had a bond like siblings. Even so, he could still harm Mom. This shows he was a cruel hypocrite at heart. How could such a person have committed only one bad deed?”

“Perhaps it was so other enemy who killed him. But, because of the recent revelation about Mom, Yi Lin naturally assud we were behind Yi Huai’s death.”

“It’s complete nonsense,” Baili Hengyuan waved his sleeve in displeasure, “That old scoundrel Yi Lin is truly shaless, trying to pin the bla on us because he can’t find the real culprit.”

“Grandpa, don’t overthink it,” Zhong Niangyao smiled as she spoke. “After today, Yi Lin won’t dare to approach us lightly.”

“Hmm,” Baili Hengyuan nodded, then spoke, “Now that the Baili Family and the Yi Family have completely turned against each other, it’s better this way. There’s no need for any further interactions between our two families.”

“Your mother has also woken up. We need to start preparing for the exchange eting.”

“Alright,” after so thought, Zhong Niangyao spoke, “Grandpa, I’ll be setting out to find Dad in a few days. I’ll need you and my three uncles to help take care of Mom when I’m gone.”

“Even if you hadn’t ntioned it, we would take good care of Le Yao. But—”

At this point, a worried look crossed Baili Hengyuan’s face, “Nianyao, are you really set on going? It’s too dangerous.”

“Grandpa, I must go on this trip,” Zhong Niangyao shook her head, her voice soft but firm, “Now that we know Dad might be there, I have to find him. Whether it’s life or death, there should be a result! Whether for myself, or for Mom and Grandma and Grandpa’s sake, I can’t avoid it.”

Seeing Zhong Niangyao’s resolute deanor, Baili Hengyuan sighed and then spoke, “Since you have already decided, I don’t have much else to say.”

“However, you must still be cautious,” Baili Hengyuan reminded her, “The place is full of cliffs and precipices, not sowhere to be taken lightly. If you really can’t find anything, co back early. Your father wouldn’t bla you.”

Zhong Niangyao nodded and smiled, “Grandpa, don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. Besides, I’m not going alone; Yichen will be coming with .”

“That’s good,” Baili Hengyuan nodded, “It’s better for the two of you to go together, to look out for each other.”

After giving a few more instructions, Baili Hengyuan left in a hurry.

Now that Yi Huai was dead, Yi Lin might’ve been chastised by Zhong Niangyao. But who could guarantee that he would behave and not cause any trouble for the Baili Family in the future?

Moreover, the Hidden Families’ exchange eting was fast approaching. This was tied to their resources for the next year and was not to be taken lightly.

He must make all the necessary preparations and allow for no mistakes.

After Baili Hengyuan left, Lu Yichen and Zhong Niangyao didn’t linger in the living room. They went back to their room together.

After returning to the room, Zhong Niangyao sat down, her brow slightly furrowed, the shimr in her eyes subdued as if she were pondering sothing.

Lu Yichen walked over to Zhong Niangyao, sat down beside her and, extending his hand, gently patted her hair as he spoke, “Are you still thinking about Yi Huai?”

Although absorbed in thought, Zhong Niangyao wasn’t entirely lost to it, so when Lu Yichen patted her hair, she wasn’t startled. She nodded with a hint of doubt in her eyes, “I knew that Yi Huai faced a life-threatening crisis. His death does not co as a surprise to . But, how did he really die?”

“It looked like sudden death, but we all know, deep down, that Yi Huai was murdered. But who killed him? And why?”

“If you really can’t figure it out, why not summon the party in question and ask?” Lu Yichen suggested, “Or to be more accurate, summon the ghost.”

A single sentence awakened the drear.

“That’s right!” Zhong Niangyao’s eyes brightened, “Why not summon Yi Huai’s ghost and ask? But, I don’t have any of his belongings and can’t perform a summoning. Maybe I’ll call upon the Judge, and he can help bring Yi Huai here to ask.”

The Judge seed approachable enough, perhaps he wouldn’t be too reluctant to assist.

With no delay, Zhong Niangyao summoned the Judge imdiately.

Quickly, the room began to darken, and the atmosphere grew colder.

Before long, the Judge appeared in the room.

It seed he was already prepared for the encounter, showing no great surprise upon seeing Lu Yichen and Zhong Niangyao.

He stepped forward and, with a respectful bow, inquired, “What matter compels you to summon ?”

“Judge, I indeed have sothing I wish to consult with you about,” Zhong Niangyao said with a beaming smile. “I need to ask a ghost so questions, but since I have none of his possessions, I’m unable to perform a summoning. Thus, I would like to request your assistance to bring forth that ghost. We only have a few simple questions to ask, it won’t take much ti.”
