Chapter 601: Chapter 601: Destiny Cannot Be Defied

Zhong Niangyao turned her head, looking at Yi Huai and Huang Wan, a couple who had just been inseparable but now seed completely unrelated, and felt an overwhelming sense of irony.

It seed that their so-called love was not as sturdy as it appeared!

“How are things now?” Zhong Niangyao asked with a smile, “You two as a couple should share both blessings and misfortunes. You can go now.”

After speaking, she narrowed her eyes, her gaze resting on Huang Wan, her expression thoughtful.

Feeling the strange look from Zhong Niangyao, Huang Wan suddenly felt a chill down her spine. Her innate alertness to danger made her want to avoid such a gaze. Sadly, her body was too weak to even move, let alone escape.

Just when she could almost no longer bear Zhong Niangyao’s gaze, Zhong Niangyao suddenly looked away. Instantly, she felt the oppressive feeling lift from her body and couldn’t help but let out a long sigh of relief.

However, Zhong Niangyao’s next words made her heart hang in suspense.

“Enjoy the few days you have left,” Zhong Niangyao mysteriously smiled. “Huang Wan, after you die, you will find that even these remaining days full of suffering will beco the good old days you long for.”

“What do you an?” Huang Wan asked with difficulty, her voice hoarse and aged, “What else did you do to ?”

Yi Huai also imdiately looked up at Zhong Niangyao. His tone was weak, but it carried a note of accusation, “We are already in this state as a couple, you’ve taken your revenge, aren’t you satisfied?”

Just monts ago, he resented his wife for not doing more during his suffering. But in the end, she was a woman he had loved for many years, and he still cared about her.

“You really wrong there,” Zhong Niangyao blinked, her face innocent, “It has nothing to do with ; it’s the sins you two created yourselves. As the saying goes, ‘You reap what you sow,’ and you cannot lay all the bla on .”

“Nianyao, what do you an?” Baili Hengyuan was also confused.

“It’s simple.” Zhong Niangyao looked at Huang Wan again, “Her life should have ended long ago, but she used crooked ways to extend it. Do you really think that defying the Heavenly Dao cos without a price?”

“Yi Huai, you are a fortune-teller. Haven’t you ever heard that destiny cannot be defied?”

With Zhong Niangyao’s words, Yi Huai’s pale face turned even more ghastly. Clearly, he had not thought about these things before. Or rather, he could ignore such thoughts and not let himself consider them.

Huang Wan’s face, already covered with wrinkles, visibly paled as she struggled to speak, “Zhong Niangyao, what… what do you an?”

“Your life should have reached its end a long ti ago,” Zhong Niangyao began, “King Yan calls for a person’s death in the third watch; they can’t be kept till the fifth watch. Your ti of death was already determined in the Book of Life and Death. When your life was supposed to end, you used my mother’s vitality to extend your own lifespan. Do you think such crooked thods could really alter your appointed ti of death written in the Book of Life and Death?”

“More than twenty years ago, you should have been reported to hell. Now, twenty years late, do you think hell will turn a blind eye to your actions? By using witchcraft to extend your life, do you think hell will still let you have the chance of reincarnation?”

“Hell has Eighteen Layers. It’s just unknown which layer you will suffer for your actions.”

“No—” Huang Wan tried to deny, but her voice trembled uncontrollably, “Zhong Niangyao, don’t scare here; I won’t believe these baseless words. What hell, what reincarnation, what right do you have to speak of such things, have you been to hell?”

“All these are just lies you fabricate to scare , aren’t they?”

“Think whatever you want,” Zhong Niangyao said nonchalantly, “You yourself practice witchcraft and Yi Huai is a fortune teller. Whether or not there is a hell, or a King Yan, you know very well in your hearts.”

As she spoke, Zhong Niangyao’s eyes darted around, as if she had thought of sothing amusing, and she suddenly began speaking cheerfully, “But since you don’t believe in the existence of hell in this world, why not let you experience it today?”

Except for Lu Yichen, no one knew what Zhong Niangyao ant.

In the anti, Zhong Niangyao also raised her hand, casually making a few gestures.

While everyone was clueless about what Zhong Niangyao intended to do, the forrly cloudless sky gathered dark, oppressive clouds. The once bright sky darkened. From within those thick clouds, faint bolts of lightning seed to flash, but no thunder could be heard.

Simultaneously, the wind began to pick up around them. This wind, carrying a bone-chilling coldness unlike any ordinary cold wind, had a sinister feel to it.

Soon, a dense black fog began to envelop the area, seemingly wrapping all the people within it, bringing with it an air akin to the approach of death.

Huang Wan and Yi Huai were standing together again, not because their marital relationship was particularly strong, but purely because by being close, they could draw warmth from each other.

Moreover, in the midst of the black fog, an oppressive feeling arose in the depths of their hearts. They couldn’t quite say why, but they felt that ever since Zhong Niangyao made those strange gestures, even breathing had beco difficult for them.

At that mont, a figure suddenly appeared from the distant fog, drawing closer rapidly, soon making their presence clearly visible.

The approaching figure from a distance, dressed in a red robe, holding a thick book in the left hand and a writing brush in the right hand.

Upon seeing the approaching figure, everyone present couldn’t help but think of a figure: the Judge.

Soon, the figure in the red robe beca distinctly visible to everyone. All present watched the newcor, none daring to speak casually, fearing they might provoke disaster.

The Judge seed sowhat dazed himself; he had been working, and out of nowhere, he suddenly appeared in this place.
