Chapter 521: Chapter 521 Changes Chapter 521: Chapter 521 Changes While talking, Zhong Niangyao reached out her hand, her fingertip tapped ng Rou’s forehead once.

ng Rou couldn’t dodge and only felt her mind beco hazy for a mont, and then she seed to see a layer of fog before her eyes, but it quickly cleared up again.

Suddenly, an ominous shadow appeared before her, and it was none other than Master Zeng.

At this mont, Master Zeng’s mouth was gaping open like a bloody basin; although there were no burn marks on his body, his facial features had beco distorted, making him look particularly horrifying.

“Ah—” An uncontrollable scream burst from ng Rou’s mouth.

Perhaps due to the force of her terror, she sat on the floor, backpedaling several tis while continuously waving her hands, “Get away, get away from . Don’t co any closer.”

Because of the agonizing tornt he endured before death, Master Zeng had now beco a ghost devoid of any consciousness. His actions were almost entirely instinctual.

In his mind, both Zhong Niangyao and ng Rou were his enemies responsible for his death. However, the aura emanating from Zhong Niangyao had instilled fear in him, so he was now hurling himself towards ng Rou.

Soon, ng Rou’s shrill screams filled the room.

Having beco a ghost, Master Zeng’s attacks couldn’t inflict physical harm on ng Rou. But they caused significant damage to her soul.

The pain of a wounded soul was many tis more agonizing than physical pain.

ng Rou had never suffered such tornt; not even from the infant spirit that had once assailed her.

“Save … save …” ng Rou stretched out her hand, pleading for help from Zhong Niangyao.

In response to ng Rou’s cries for help, Zhong Niangyao stood aside with a smile on her lips, as if watching an entertaining show, “Aren’t you allies? So what’s there to be afraid of? Really, you brought this on yourself!”

With a “bang,” the previously shut door suddenly fell to the ground.

Zhong Niangyao looked in the direction of the door and before she could make out everything, she was already wrapped in a warm embrace, and a voice filled with urgency ca from above her head.

“Yaoyao, are you hurt?”

While speaking, he began to ticulously check her body for injuries.

The newcor was Lu Yichen, his face etched with anxiety, his breath uneven.

Just now, his phone had accidentally been dropped. He hadn’t thought much of it at first, but upon receiving a new phone, inserting his SIM card, and seeing the ssages, he felt his blood freeze over instantaneously. Then, he had imdiately mobilized his forces to investigate Zhong Niangyao’s whereabouts, causing a seismic stir amongst the Imperial Capital’s elite.

Upon seeing Zhao Xuanglang safe and sound yet completely clueless, his anxiety only mounted.

Finally, after learning of Zhong Niangyao’s whereabouts, he had rushed in at once. The first thing he saw was Zhong Niangyao covered in blood.

His heart was filled with regret; if it hadn’t been for his negligence, how could Zhong Niangyao be facing this peril alone? The thought of her being injured was unbearable, and he couldn’t forgive himself.

“I’m fine,” Zhong Niangyao quickly grabbed Lu Yichen’s hand, sowhat helplessly, “I really haven’t been hurt, well, that’s not quite right to say. My wounds have healed, and that’s not quite right either… ”

For a mont, she really didn’t know how to explain to Lu Yichen.

Just when the situation had seed dire, she had thought she might not make it through the day. But in that mont of crisis, a powerful force had surged forth, healing her injuries and granting her an unprecedented strength.

She had no idea what was happening to her or why she possessed such formidable power. But she was certain that the force was her own.

While wielding that power, she didn’t feel any sense of unfamiliarity; instead, it felt as natural as if it was an integral part of her body.

Although unclear about what was happening, she had the vague sense that it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

It was then that Lu Yichen noticed the changes in Zhong Niangyao’s appearance, including her now golden pupils and the fiery Red Spider Lily between her brows.

Noticing Lu Yichen’s concerned gaze, Zhong Niangyao frowned, “What’s wrong?”

Lu Yichen reached out, his fingers gently caressing the Red Spider Lily on Zhong Niangyao’s forehead, his deep voice resonating, “Your eyes, they’re now golden. And on your forehead, there’s a mark.”

Gazing at Zhong Niangyao in this state, he felt a sense of unfamiliarity combined with a feeling of deep familiarity that welled up from inside. He didn’t understand what was happening to him, his heart suddenly trembling, even a sense of inexplicable sorrow washing over him.

“Huh?”

Upon hearing Lu Yichen’s response, Zhong Niangyao’s eyes widened in disbelief, “How is that possible?”

“Never mind, I’d better take a look for myself!”

With that, Zhong Niangyao headed over to the entrance hall’s mirror, which she noticed concealed in a cabinet when she entered the house.

She opened the cabinet, pulled out the mirror, and then tossed a dust-clearing talisman onto it.

The heavily dust-covered mirror was now as clean as new, its glass surface crystal clear.

Zhong Niangyao stood before it, touching the Red Spider Lily on her forehead gently with her hand, and then couldn’t help but rub it, finding that the mark didn’t change at all.

For a mont, she didn’t know how to react.

Turning her head to Lu Yichen, who had been by her side throughout, Zhong Niangyao couldn’t help but ask, “Yichen, what exactly is happening to ? My eyes, and this mark on my forehead—”

“What exactly happened just now?”

Lu Yichen reached out his arm around Zhong Niangyao’s waist, the warm and familiar scent finally bringing him a sense of relief. The inexplicable sorrow that had just surged up had completely vanished, leaving no trace behind, as if it were all just his imagination.

Zhong Niangyao had no reason to hide anything, so she relayed everything to Lu Yichen—the plot that ng Rou and Master Zeng had set up against her today, along with the sudden ergence of a powerful force.
