Chapter 489: 489 Chapter: Apology Chapter 489: 489 Chapter: Apology “Yaoyao wasn’t out all night without a proper reason; her delay was rely due to so matters,” Old Madam Zhong, her sharp gaze resting on Zhong ngxuan, scolded, “Don’t project your confused thoughts onto others. Besides, Yaoyao had already told us about it.”

Hearing this, Zhong ngxuan grew even angrier, “Grandpa, Grandma, you are way too indulgent towards Nianyao. If you continue like this, she will beco even more unruly.”

Zhong ngxuan had always harbored resentnt towards Old Sir Zhong and Old Madam Zhong’s favoritism. It seed that no matter what ti it was or what Nianyao did, even when she had chased after Li Jingming in the past making the Zhong Family a laughingstock, they had never given up on Nianyao.

Yet, now she had rely beco Lu Chenran’s mistress, and suddenly they shunned her for disgracing the Zhong Family.

It was truly unfair.

Faced with Zhong ngxuan’s relentless accusations, Nianyao herself was no pushover. She turned around, smiling, “You don’t need to worry about . Even if I am unruly, I won’t entangle myself with a married man, so you really shouldn’t concern yourself with . If you have free ti, you might want to reflect on your own issues!”

She really did not understand—was Zhong ngxuan masochistic? Considering her own situation was like a sieve, full of holes, and yet she still had the mood to mock and scorn her.

She truly deserved to be scolded.

“You—” Zhong ngxuan’s face turned crimson with rage.

“Zhong ngxuan!” Old Sir Zhong’s voice was filled with authority, “If you can’t speak properly, then close your mouth.”

“Grandpa, I—”

Just as Zhong ngxuan began to speak, she was silenced by Old Sir Zhong’s authoritative glance. That piercing look sparked a wave of fear within her.

“Sir, ngxuan didn’t an it,” Li Yiqiu hurriedly interjected, “She was just worried about Nianyao, that’s all. There was no ill intention.”

“Whether there were bad intentions, she knows in her own heart,” Old Sir Zhong was naturally not going to easily believe such words, “We’ve seen how she treats Yaoyao on normal days. Don’t start with that sisterly affection talk here, she probably doesn’t believe such words herself!”

As he spoke, he turned to Li Yiqiu, speaking rcilessly, “And you, the second son’s wife, we still rember what happened last ti. The reason your husband hasn’t divorced you is because you saved him once. But if you continue causing trouble, our Zhong Family won’t keep you either.”

Li Yiqiu’s face went from pale to flushed, but she dared not say anything. The deeds of the past would always haunt her. Even though she truly did save her husband once, in this family, she was still seen as a sinner.

Zhong ngxuan, feeling wronged, had actually wanted to say sothing. But when Li Yiqiu tugged at her sleeve, she turned and saw her mother shaking her head.

Finally, all she could do was grit her teeth and swallow her grievances.

After chatting for a while, Nianyao and the elders excused themselves and then she went upstairs.

After Nianyao left, Old Sir Zhong and Old Madam Zhong no longer intended to stay in the living room either. The two elders planned to go out and water the flowers in the garden and do so weeding.

After Old Sir Zhong and Old Madam Zhong left, Li Yiqiu imdiately took Zhong ngxuan upstairs.

Dragged by Li Yiqiu, Zhong ngxuan was clearly reluctant, slowly walking while grumbling, “Mom, do we really have to go see Nianyao? She’s definitely going to laugh at us.”

“To joke, you’ve already beco everyone’s joke,” Li Yiqiu responded harshly, “If it weren’t for you, do you think I would want to see Nianyao?”

Because of past incidents, her relationship with Nianyao had cooled down to rock bottom. If possible, she wouldn’t want to see Nianyao ever again. However, the only one who might help Zhong ngxuan now was likely Nianyao.

Li Yiqiu has only two children, the youngest of whom’s health had irreversibly deteriorated. Now that Zhong ngxuan had stirred up such trouble, despite resenting what Zhong ngxuan had done before,

Ultimately, Zhong ngxuan was still her daughter, a piece of her own flesh.

Thus, gathering her courage, Li Yiqiu pulled Zhong ngxuan to go and find Nianyao.

“Why do we have to see her at all then!” Zhong ngxuan’s tone was still full of reluctance, “I really don’t want to see her smug face.”

Li Yiqiu ignored Zhong ngxuan’s reluctance, pulling her toward Nianyao’s room.

Though she kept saying she was unwilling, Zhong ngxuan still followed Li Yiqiu.

Inside the room—

After taking a bath, Nianyao was planning to rest for a while before sleeping again.

However, just after she had finished her bath, she heard a knock on the door.

To avoid being disturbed, she had locked the door when she entered her room.

As soon as she opened the door, Nianyao saw Li Yiqiu and Zhong ngxuan standing outside.

Li Yiqiu’s face carried a smile, even a hint of appeasent. In contrast, Zhong ngxuan had a scowl on her face, as if soone owed her billions.

“Sothing the matter?” Nianyao raised an eyebrow, a flicker of surprise in her eyes.

Having just t downstairs, she was curious what these two could possibly want with her now. There had already been an unpleasant conversation earlier, and now they had chased her up here, which couldn’t be a good sign.

“Nianyao, let’s go inside and talk!” Li Yiqiu said smilingly, “It’s really not so good to talk here at the doorway!”

“What’s wrong with that?” Nianyao unmoved, didn’t even shift her stance, “I don’t think I have anything to say either to you or to Zhong ngxuan.”

“Nianyao, you—” Zhong ngxuan’s temper flared up instantly.

But just as she began to speak, she noticed her mother’s warning look and ultimately shut her mouth without saying more.

Li Yiqiu’s face was full of smiles, “Nianyao, I know, everything was my fault before. I ca today genuinely intending to apologize, so whatever it is, let’s talk inside!”
