Chapter 459: Chapter 459 Purpose Chapter 459: Chapter 459 Purpose “We, huh?” Zhong Niangyao tilted her head thoughtfully before speaking, “If we really get down to it, we should be considered friends of your daughter!”

“You’re friends of that… the one who owes money… Zheng Tong’s friends?” Wu Yueshang looked at the people before her warily, “No matter what Zheng Tong has done outside, it has nothing to do with us.”

The fact that Chu Tong had acknowledged her biological parents was sothing the Zheng Family knew nothing about. This was hardly surprising, though; they couldn’t care less about her. They hadn’t even shown their faces when Chu Tong was hospitalized, hanging between life and death.

“Nothing to do with you?” Zhong Niangyao opened her mouth with a cold laugh, “I’ve heard that all the money she’s earned over the years has ended up in your hands!”

“Nonsense.” Wu Yueshang’s voice beca shrill as she loudly defended herself, “We have nothing to do with Zheng Tong anymore, and besides, she is not our biological daughter. Whatever she has done, it’s her business. You can go find her. It’s up to you whether to kill or slash.”

“That’s right,” Zheng Kangjian quickly joined in, “We’ve raised her and we’ve done enough. Now if she’s caused trouble outside, that’s her business; go find her.”

At that mont, Zhong Niangyao’s gaze landed on Zheng Kangjian, and a light wrinkle ford on her brow, a flash of understanding crossed her eyes, and then her mouth curved into a smile of interest. She then spoke with profound aning, “Are you sure that you really have nothing to do with her anymore?”

“No, nothing at all.” Zheng Kangjian eagerly replied, “There was never any blood relation between us in the first place, and now that our family has raised her, we do not expect anything in return. We’re even.”

Watching the Zheng Family so readily disavow any relationship with Chu Tong, Chu Xu, standing by, was fuming with anger.

He couldn’t even begin to imagine how oppressive it must have been for his second cousin to grow up in such an environnt.

Lu Yichen also noticed that sothing was off, and his icy gaze fell on Zheng Kangjian.

That cold look made Zheng Kangjian feel uncomfortable all over, like he had fallen into icy water, feeling utterly cold, as if he could hardly breathe at any mont.

Wu Yueshang stepped forward to protect her son, standing in front of Zheng Kangjian with a guarded look at Zhong Niangyao and her entourage.

Zheng De, from start to finish, stayed out of it like an outsider.

Zhong Niangyao pulled on Lu Yichen’s hand, and after he withdrew his gaze, she once again turned towards the mother and son and said slowly, “Are you really completely unrelated to Zheng Tong now? I an, not even the slightest bit.”

“Yes,” Wu Yueshang, despite finding Zhong Niangyao’s question sowhat strange, stuck to her statent, “It’s been almost a month since we last had any contact. Whether she’s dead or alive, or what trouble she’s gotten into outside, it has nothing to do with us.”

“Then that really is strange.” Zhong Niangyao’s gaze fell again on Zheng Kangjian, “How co I see that you’re still clinging to her belongings here?”

“What nonsense are you talking about?” Zheng De stepped forward at this point, “Previously, the money she gave to us was to repay our kindness for raising her; that money is ours now. Don’t even think about taking it.”

He had been silent from the beginning, but now that it involved money and interests, he couldn’t stay calm any longer.

Wu Yueshang chid in, “That’s right, don’t expect to get that money. We absolutely won’t hand it over.”

“You’re all mistaken.” Zhong Niangyao shook her head, “I never said that the so-called ‘thing’ was money. It’s sothing invisible and intangible, on you.”

As she spoke, Zhong Niangyao raised her hand, her fingertip pointing directly at Zheng Kangjian, “Since you have nothing to do with Zheng Tong anymore, shouldn’t you also return what you got from her?”

At these words, the Zheng Family mbers all changed color dramatically. Particularly Zheng Kangjian, whose face drained of blood, looking pale and powerless as he stared at his parents, bewildered.

Zheng De and Wu Yueshang exchanged glances, then stepped forward in sync to protect Zheng Kangjian with a protective posture.

“Get out of my house now,” Wu Yueshang pointed to the front door, raising her voice, “This is my ho, and your trespassing. I can call the police right now to arrest you.”

“Oh.” Zhong Niangyao nodded, showing no sign of fear on her face, “Didn’t you say that you have no blood relation with Zheng Tong? Then, how did Zheng Tong co to your house and beco your daughter?”

Zheng De’s and Wu Yueshang’s complexions soured, as if they were reminded of sothing.

“It’s none of your business.” Zheng De spoke with outward fierceness but inner trepidation, “We’ve raised her all these years, and now that she’s an adult, she can be independent. Whatever she does outside has nothing to do with us.”

“She was abducted, wasn’t she!” Zhong Niangyao spoke indifferently, “Or perhaps, you didn’t intend to make her your daughter from the beginning. By an odd twist of fate, you had no choice but to raise her. And because you resented that, you’ve always treated her as a cash machine, continuously leeching off her, haven’t you!”

“Don’t talk nonsense.” Wu Yueshang snapped back fiercely, “We have never trafficked children. We found her on the street, took pity on her, and brought her ho to raise her. Do you know how hard it has been for us to raise her all these years?”

“I don’t know and I’m not interested in knowing,” Zhong Niangyao shook her head, “A mont ago, weren’t you saying that you wanted to call the police? Then call them, and let the police also investigate what exactly happened back then.”

Hearing Zhong Niangyao ntion calling the police, Zheng De and Wu Yueshang instantly fell silent. Although many years had passed, they weren’t sure if anything could still be traced.

“Who exactly are you? What is your purpose in coming here today?”

Zheng De wasn’t a fool; after listening for so long, he sensed sothing was amiss. The group before him didn’t seem like they were here to cause trouble for Zheng Tong but rather to seek justice for her.
