Chapter 434: Chapter 434: That’s It Chapter 434: Chapter 434: That’s It A flurry of morally confused and shaless rhetoric left everyone present thunderstruck. They had not expected Zhong ngxuan to be capable of uttering such a brazen speech.

Zhong Niangyao couldn’t help but clap sarcastically, smiling as she did so, yet her words were dripping with irony, “Zhong ngxuan, there’s a saying that without skin, trees wither for sure, and without sha, a person is invincible. You truly exemplify that saying to the fullest.”

“Zhong Niangyao, you—” Just as Zhong ngxuan began to speak, she was interrupted by Zhong Niangyao.

“Am I wrong?” Zhong Niangyao asked with a sneer, “Do you even know what ‘Heart Blood’ ans? When your mother took that sharp knife to my chest, did she even consider my safety? And now, all of a sudden, I’m the one at fault.”

“Zhong ngxuan, I do want to ask, who taught you such a skewed view of right and wrong?”

Zhong ngxuan’s face turned shades of green and white, feeling a burning heat on her cheeks. Noticing the strange looks from others, she felt even more insecure inside.

“Get back here,” Zhong Mingyu’s face looked grim as he scolded Zhong ngxuan, “Sit down and don’t express any more opinions.”

Seeing Zhong ngxuan as if she still had objections, Zhong Mingyu said bluntly, “If you won’t even listen to anymore, then don’t call dad ever again.”

Faced with Zhong Mingyu’s serious and strict deanor, Zhong ngxuan was startled and dared not challenge the authoritative stance of her father any further—even though she strongly disagreed with her parents’ divorce. But now, hearing her father’s rebuke, she didn’t dare to make any rash moves.

Zhong ngxuan’s surrender plunged Li Yiqiu into an even deeper panic. She didn’t know what to do, but no matter what, she was unwilling to divorce.

She got up quickly and knelt in front of Zhong Mingyu again, crying with heart-wrenching sobs, “Mingyu, please plead with dad for ! I really don’t want to divorce you. Even if not for our decades of marriage, think of Xiao Kang who is still so young!”

“Xiao Kang is so young, and his health is so poor, he needs my care. You can’t let him grow up without a mother this young.”

Watching Li Yiqiu’s relentless sobbing, even the heart of stone would find it unbearable. All the more so since she was his wife who shared his bed.

“Dad, Yiqiu did indeed make a mistake this ti, please be magnanimous and forgive her just once,” Zhong Mingyu once again pleaded for his wife, “I promise such incidents will never happen again.”

Seeing her own father speak up, Zhong ngxuan also quickly pleaded, “Yes! Grandfather, my mother just had a misguided mont this ti, it wasn’t intentional. Please just forgive her this once—that’s all.”

In response to Zhong Mingyu and Zhong ngxuan’s pleas, Old Sir Zhong didn’t even lift an eyelid. He gave Zhong Mingyu two options, “One, divorce Li Yiqiu and let her leave the Zhong Family. We cannot harbor such a narrow-minded person. Two, leave the Zhong Family with her, and I’ll grace you with my blessing for your deep connection.”

Hearing Old Sir Zhong’s words, Zhong Mingyu was stunned. He opened his mouth but could make no sound.

Li Yiqiu, who seed to have gone mad, began to shriek loudly, “No, I won’t divorce, I will never divorce even if it kills . As long as I disagree, we will absolutely not get divorced.”

“You will get divorced,” Old Sir Zhong said coldly to Li Yiqiu, “unless you want everyone to know your actions. I suspect your own parents won’t let you off either!”

“Of course, if you still refuse to divorce, we can file for one. Given your actions, it’s likely the court will favor a divorce.”

Suddenly, Li Yiqiu collapsed to the ground, utterly drained of strength.

Although Li Yiqiu looked pitiable, no one present felt any pity for her. This just proved the saying: Those who are pitiable often have their despised attributes.

Old Sir Zhong didn’t even bother to glance at Li Yiqiu, he nodded towards Lu Yichen then spoke, “Yichen, today’s incident was our, the Zhong Family’s, fault. I apologize to you. If you require any sort of compensation, let us know, and we will do our best.”

“As for Li Yiqiu, this is as far as I can go. I really can’t do anything else. After all, her bad intentions can’t substantiate evidence.”

What he said was true; he was angry about Li Yiqiu’s actions and naturally wanted to punish her properly.

But in a society under the rule of law, he could not resort to vigilantism. As for the notion of ‘Heart Blood’, although Li Yiqiu had confessed, it still wouldn’t stand as evidence in court, and nothing could be done about Li Yiqiu.

So, the only thing he could think of was to have Li Yiqiu divorce his son.

Moreover, the Zhong Family could not accommodate such a malicious daughter-in-law. Who knows whether she might harbor malicious intentions for soone else’s ‘Heart Blood’ in the future?

To prevent any future troubles, the only solution was to have Li Yiqiu leave the Zhong Family.

This was a fact that could not be changed.

After hearing Old Sir Zhong’s words, Lu Yichen showed no change of expression; he simply nodded his head lightly, without uttering another word.

He neither expressed satisfaction nor dissatisfaction.

No one could guess what he was really thinking.

At that mont, Zhong Niangyao sat up straight, glanced at Li Yiqiu, who seed to have lost all her spirit, and spoke indifferently, “Let’s end this matter here.”

With one sentence, it seed like she had set the verdict for the event.

Everyone’s gaze fell on Lu Yichen, clearly waiting for his response.

Although from beginning to end, he had not expressed much opinion, he was, in fact, the actual victim of this event. And his status spoke for itself.

If he was unwilling to relent, it implied that the Lu Family wouldn’t let the matter rest easily either. The Zhong Family definitely couldn’t withstand the pressure from the Lu Family, so everyone was waiting for Lu Yichen to make a statent.

“Let it be,” he said.

With those few words, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, and the matter was finally resolved.

Soon, the crowd dissipated, leaving only Zhong Mingyu, Li Yiqiu, and Zhong ngxuan behind.
