Chapter 415: Chapter 415: Fake Goods Chapter 415: Chapter 415: Fake Goods Old Sir Zhong’s birthday banquet was approaching, and the Zhong Family was busy preparing for the event.

Since it wasn’t a significant milestone, Old Sir Zhong didn’t want a grand celebration, so the event was set to take place at the Zhong residence. Moreover, it was to be a modest affair with only so business partners and old family friends invited, excluding others.

While everyone was preoccupied with preparations for Old Sir Zhong, Zhong Niangyao took the opportunity to slip out as she had soone to et.

A short ti later, at the cafe—

Zhong Niangyao t with Chu Xu, and this ti, it was she who had initiated the eting.

Upon seeing Zhong Niangyao, Chu Xu appeared excited, yet sowhat reserved. He quickly stood up, attempting to pull out a chair for her.

Zhong Niangyao waved her hand in refusal, then smoothly pulled out a chair and sat down herself, her movents fluid and elegant.

Not daring to delay, Chu Xu promptly poured tea for Zhong Niangyao after she seated herself, then curiously asked, “Lady Zhong, how co you have ti to et with today?”

“Actually, there’s sothing I want to confirm with you today,” Zhong Niangyao said straightforwardly without beating around the bush, “Are you really sure that Chu Yixue is indeed the Second Lady of your Chu Family?”

After hearing Zhong Niangyao’s question, Chu Xu was montarily stunned. He scratched his head, a bit puzzled, “Lady Zhong, what do you an? Didn’t you ask this before?”

“Chu Yixue wasn’t impulsively acknowledged. My uncle and aunt have conducted a paternity test with her. So, it’s certain she’s their biological daughter.”

“Is that so?” Zhong Niangyao’s lips curled into a cryptic smile, “What if I tell you that Chu Yixue isn’t really your cousin?”

“What?” Chu Xu retorted almost reflexively, “That’s impossible; the paternity test was done at a hospital well known to our family. It cannot be faked.”

However, despite his words, Zhong Niangyao’s statents unsettled him sowhat. He had personally witnessed what Zhong Niangyao was capable of. Now, with her claiming that Chu Yixue was an impostor, doubt inevitably began to creep in.

“I wouldn’t speak carelessly about such matters,” Zhong Niangyao said with a smile, then continued, “There’s no blood relation between Chu Yixue and your family. Moreover—”

At this point, her expression suddenly shifted, and she frowned, “From your facial features, I can tell that a kin of yours, whose recent condition isn’t good, might be seriously ill. Without a turnaround, you might soon experience the death of a loved one.”

“But there’s no one sick at ho!” Chu Xu had just begun to speak when he stopped abruptly.

He rembered what Zhong Niangyao had ntioned—his possibly never-before-t second cousin.

At that mont, he couldn’t help feeling anxious. He was uncertain whether to believe Zhong Niangyao’s words, yet he worried, if what she said was true, what he should do if his real cousin was in trouble.

“Take to see your grandfather!” Zhong Niangyao spoke up directly, “I think he should be able to decide.”

Upon hearing Zhong Niangyao’s words, Chu Xu instantly perked up, “Right, I can go to Grandpa.”

The family’s decisions were still made by the grandfather; such significant matters must be reported to him. Whatever decision to be made, it must co from him. He, with his limited capabilities, certainly couldn’t shoulder such a responsibility!

Without any hesitancy, Chu Xu imdiately contacted Old Sir Chu. However, he did not reveal that Chu Yixue was fake, rely ntioning that Zhong Niangyao wished to et.

Having previously heard of Zhong Niangyao’s impressive capabilities from Chu Xu, Old Sir Chu had always held a respectful fear for her. Even though she was much younger, he dared not take her lightly. Now, hearing that Zhong Niangyao wanted a eting, albeit clueless about the matter, he knew it must be of great importance.

Thus, following Chu Xu’s call, Old Sir Chu promptly agreed to et, the sooner, the better.

Shortly thereafter, the Chu Family’s driver ca to pick up Zhong Niangyao.

After contemplating, Chu Xu decided to accompany her. He too wanted to know what exactly was the situation with Chu Yixue. Moreover, he wondered where his actual cousin was now.

Once the car arrived, it didn’t take long before the driver took Zhong Niangyao and Chu Xu to a highly secluded, upscale teahouse.

Upon entering the private room there, they saw Old Sir Chu sitting inside.

Seeing Zhong Niangyao, Old Sir Chu didn’t put on airs; he stood up imdiately, “Lady Zhong!”

Soon, everyone had taken their seats.

Chu Xu, sitting at the lowest position in the room, diligently poured tea for Old Sir Chu and Zhong Niangyao.

Old Sir Chu didn’t glance at Chu Xu, his attention fully on Zhong Niangyao, “Lady Zhong, this eting with , is there sothing you need?”

When he heard that Zhong Niangyao wanted to et him, he was quite surprised. Yet, he was aware that it must be no small matter, hence the choice of this teahouse.

Chu Xu paused at Old Sir Chu’s words but did not respond.

Not because he didn’t want to answer, but such a matter, he truly didn’t know how to articulate. Besides, he only knew bits and pieces; even if he wanted to explain, he couldn’t make it all clear.

Zhong Niangyao looked up, gazing directly at Old Sir Chu, and began slowly, “Your granddaughter Chu Yixue is fake; she’s an impostor!”

“Snap—”

As Zhong Niangyao’s words fell, Old Sir Chu, startled, inadvertently knocked over a cup on the table.

The cup hit the floor, shattering with a crisp sound, the scalding tea spilling all over the floor. Fortunately, it didn’t scald anyone.

Taken aback by this sudden mishap, Chu Xu imdiately stood and began to clean up.

Their conversation here was not suitable for a fourth person to hear, so he had to hurry with the cleanup.

Old Sir Chu, without so much as a glance at the ss he caused, fixed his intense gaze on Zhong Niangyao, his expression growing somber, “Lady Zhong, do you know what you are saying?”

Regarding Chu Yixue, the granddaughter who was ‘found’ again, he didn’t particularly like or dislike her. But her return had indeed brought so relief, as Chu Yixue’s disappearance had always been a heavy burden on his son and daughter-in-law’s hearts!
