Chapter 398: Chapter 398 Kidnapping Chapter 398: Chapter 398 Kidnapping The craftsn at Zhong’s Jewelry were quite skilled, and coupled with the fact that it had been personally requested by Zhong Niangyao, the engraved ornant was ready in just a few days.
After school, Zhong Niangyao went to pick up the carved ornant and was planning to go ho. She didn’t ask her family driver to co for her; instead, she hailed a taxi.
However, she barely got in the car when she sensed sothing was wrong. The road the taxi was taking wasn’t the usual route she took ho, and the driver seed to be continually observing her through the rearview mirror.
Although she didn’t know what was happening, she could guess that soone was up to sothing. She wondered who lacked the brains to target her, which was indeed quite foolish.
With that thought, Zhong Niangyao pretended to be engrossed in her phone, oblivious to everything, but the corners of her mouth lifted into a aningful arc.
A while later, Zhong Niangyao suddenly slled a sweet scent in the car. A glint of contemplation flashed in her eyes, and soon, she feigned a yawn and then pretended to fall asleep.
Soon enough, the car seed to have driven off to so unknown location. After a long and bumpy ride, the vehicle finally stopped.
Then, Zhong Niangyao felt herself being lifted and carried into a room. Next, she was thrown onto the floor.
Suddenly thrown onto the ground, Zhong Niangyao couldn’t keep up the act; she rolled with the montum and stood up imdiately.
The others in the room were startled by this unexpected turn of events.
“You’re not unconscious,” exclaid the driver from earlier, instantaneously understanding what had happened, as he showed a ferocious look, “You were pretending?”
Zhong Niangyao looked around and observed the surroundings, then a smirk of interest crept onto her face, “Isn’t that obvious? I did plan to continue the pretense, but unfortunately, you don’t seem to know how to treat a lady with care, choosing to drop on the floor. I don’t fancy getting hurt, so self-rescue was the only option.”
Now she could see that she had been brought to what appeared to be a warehouse. The location was quite secluded, and it looked long-abandoned, covered in dust. It was unclear what had been stored there before, but it was evident that this was an ideal place for murder and robbery, abduction and ransom.
In front of her stood four big and strong n who looked malicious, their bodies adorned with various tattoos – the sort of people one could easily suspect of ill-intent.
“Heh heh, girl, even if you’re awake, what does it matter?” The muscular, bald man in the lead showed no sign of panic because of Zhong Niangyao’s awakening. After being surprised for a mont, he quickly regained his composure and even appeared sowhat brazen, “Do you think you can escape from here all by yourself? I advise you to cooperate a bit to save yourself so trouble.”
“Oh, so what exactly do you want to do?” Standing there, Zhong Niangyao showed no fear on her face, calm as if she were rely engaging in casual conversation, “Surely you didn’t just invite over for a visit, right?”
“Lady Zhong, what do you think?” The Bald Man couldn’t care less about Zhong Niangyao’s deanor; to him, she was already like a turtle in a jar, a bird in a cage, with no escape possible.
“Knowing my surna, you should also know my na!” Zhong Niangyao nodded and then continued, “It seems that you know who I am and intentionally captured . I’m curious, what’s your actual goal?”
“Lady Zhong, your family is not short on money!” The Bald Man got straight to the point, “Zhong’s Jewelry is a prosperous business, so I imagine pulling together a couple hundred million won’t be an issue. Lady Zhong, I think you’d like to return ho safely, right?”
“So—” Zhong Niangyao raised an eyebrow, “What would you like to cooperate with?”
“Lady Zhong, I’ve heard that Old Sir Zhong and Old Madam Zhong cherish you, their granddaughter, most dearly,” the Bald Man said with a smile, “Given that, I’ll have to trouble you to make a phone call back ho and have them prepare a ransom of two billion. As soon as we get the ransom, we’ll release you right away.”
While he spoke, the Bald Man gave a signal to the other three n, indicating they should be ready to prevent any escape attempts by Zhong Niangyao.
Zhong Niangyao’s attitude from the start had been sowhat unsettling for him.
Though he was confident that she couldn’t escape, even if Zhong Niangyao were formidable, they weren’t afraid, for he had a real weapon in hand.
If they hadn’t been fully prepared, they wouldn’t have carried out this abduction. Nonetheless, it was best to be cautious just in case sothing went awry, ruining their efforts and potentially costing them everything.
Upon the Bald Man’s cue, the other three n surrounded Zhong Niangyao tightly. At that mont, it was indeed impossible for her to escape even if she had wings.
“A ransom of two billion, you sure have a big appetite!”
As if completely oblivious to their movents, Zhong Niangyao still stood there, her expression serenely indifferent, a mocking curve forming on her lips, “But, after you receive the ransom, will you really release ?”
“Of course,” the Bald Man nodded, assuring her solemnly, “Lady Zhong, we’re just after the money and have no desire to harm you. So, it’s best if you cooperate with us. That way, you can suffer less.”
“Oh, is that so?” Zhong Niangyao smirked, “But what should I do? I don’t believe a word you say, nor do I think you’ll let go!”
“Lady Zhong, are you refusing a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit?” The Bald Man’s expression turned cold in an instant.
“You never intended to let live and go ho, did you?” A glint of frost flashed in Zhong Niangyao’s eyes, and although her face remained calm, the irony at the corners of her mouth deepened, “When you took captive, you didn’t even disguise yourselves, not worried at all about seeing your true faces. So, it seems you plan to kill right after getting the ransom, right?”
At those words, the Bald Man’s face instantly transford, becoming even more savage, as he let out a loud laugh, his expression grotesquely grim, “Lady Zhong, you truly are very clever. It’s just too bad that your intelligence is of no use at this ti. Since you’ve spoken frankly, neither do we need to be polite. You’re right, we want not only the money, but also your life.”
