Reaching the room, Decan took in a deep breath as he cald himself for the task at hand. Surely, there would be more than enough problems for him to look forward to at the mont, and his King’s wrath was only one of the many trials he had to face.
Then again, this was still well within his expected outcos.
"Ti to face the music..."
Pushing the door open, the secret room of the Blue Moon Pack laid itself bare to the forr King. Looking around, it would seem that Davin was already waiting for him inside as was the unconscious form of their sleeping King. Boris and Aspen arrived before Decan could walk onto his seat.
"So, how did the exchange go?" Davin asked, his arms folded over his chest as he leaned by the nearest wall. "I assu it was a success? Seeing as you’re all here, Marcus didn’t renege on the deal?"
Decan let out a small smile, "That’s right. It all went off without a hitch. Well, as much as it could be."
The vampire had opted out of coming with them on the exchange. It was only obvious that the young man was pretty much going to be a loose cannon as soon as Marcus ca into the picture. As such, Decan didn’t object to his decision.
"It was still nerve-wracking, to say the least," Aspen shook his head by the side of the room. "Even while watching it happen through the screens, it honestly felt as if the bastard was looking right at ."
"I agree on that," Boris let out a humorless chuckle. "Just being near him was giving the creeps. He had this aura to him... Like he always has a plan for everything."
The forr king sighed. Being the one to proceed with the exchange in the first place, his own first-hand accounts could probably blow all of their anecdotes out of the water. However, his testimonies would do little to move their agenda forward.
"That’s all well and good, but what of the taphorical elephant in the room?" Davin chuckled, bringing the room’s attention to him as he motioned towards his sleeping uncle.
"Uncle will most definitely not be pleased with our apparent slight. He might even go on a rampage if I must say."
"How much ti do we have left anyway?" Boris asked.
"I’d say we have about an hour or so," the vampire shrugged, looking at his watch before he continued. "So how about it? What’s the plan this ti?"
The room settled into a pensive silence, the four of them humming in deep thought as they deliberated on their next course of action.
"Do we even plan on telling him in the first place?" Aspen questioned. "Why not avoid the matter entirely?"
"Are you mad? He’ll find out eventually," Decan swiftly rebutted. "At that point, he might just kill us all before going on to kill himself in a stupid hail-mary attack."
"Uncle do be like that at tis," Davin shook his head in mirth. "At the very least, we must make sure our King won’t off himself out of so foolish sense of ownership and duty."
And wasn’t that the problem in and of itself... Decan knew very well that none of them in the room were strong enough to stop the man as soon as he really got going. Nathan would be unstoppable, and they’d be powerless against his might.
"Why not just restrain him while he’s like this?" Boris suggested. "Let’s just put him in a silver tal straightjacket while he’s still asleep."
"Or better yet, we can always dump him in the safe room located within the compound," Aspen scoffed. "That place is rated to survive even a nuclear bomb. Surely that can hold our King for a ti while we decide on what to do."
Looking at the general consensus, Decan nodded, "I guess everyone’s in agreent on that regard then. We’ll place King Nathan in the safe room and keep him locked up."
The other three nodded in agreent. At the very least, that was one problem taken care of. However...
"What then?" Aspen pointed out. "We can’t just leave him there."
Boris humd, a thought coming to him as he rembered. "The powder. Should we use it on him?"
Davin shrugged, "It depends. If he’s actually thinking straight, we might not need to do so. Raine’s letter is still here, yes?"
"Yeah," Aspen confird. "She said we should only give it to the King if we don’t plan on using the powder on him."
"Exactly," Davin nodded. "We’ll have to see if Uncle is even sane enough to allow us to give an explanation. If not, then I guess we’ll have no choice but to wipe his mory clean."
Decan frowned at the prospect of violating their King even further, but he knew that it was the only path left for them to take. "Then I suppose everything’s in order?"
"Yep," the vampire popped his consonants before looking at the sleeping Nathan. "I suggest we start moving him then."
Sharing various modes of agreent, the four of them took their own respective positions in moving their King’s body to the safe room. The secret room had a path connecting to it, thankfully, and all that was left was to drag Nathan away to what could possibly be his temporary cell. By the ti they were finished, they were staring at their sleeping King as he laid on a simple bed, the four standing by his side as they all shared a look.
"I guess we’re leaving him here?" Boris asked.
"And let him wake up with absolutely no idea on what’s happening?" Davin scoffed. "Absolutely not."
"Then I suppose we’ll wait for him to wake up then," Decan nodded. "It’s only fair."
Aspen hesitantly agreed, "Of course. Although, I sincerely hope we’re still in one piece by the ti he does so."
Taking their respective places, the wait for King Nathan’s awakening had begun. In their minds, their only hope was that their liege won’t be too mad to imdiately rip them to bits the mont he opened his eyes.
