Chapter 266: Clairvoyance

That night, Nathan pulled Davin with him to pay Carlos a visit to his ho. Currently, they were both seated in the backseat of the car, their driver silently doing his job as the two discussed among themselves.

"Do I really need to co?" Davin murmured, his mouth twitching with annoyance.

Hearing his companion’s complaints, Nathan chuckled, "You’re part of the Moon Clan now, which is under the Mirage. As such, it’s necessary for you to know everything that happens."

"Technically, I’m also a Prince of The Corvus," Davin sighed.

"Well, I’m also still the King of the Convel Society, so beats ..." Nathan shrugged. "Still, our origins will always be the Moon Clan, Davin. That’s our ho, so you should start embracing it as it is your own." He then sagely continued, "Besides, the people who wronged us are all gone now. We can have a fresh start, making sure that nothing similar to what happened then could be repeated under our generation."

Davin kept his silence, making sure that a bit of ti has passed before he changed the subject. "What will you do now? With Raine, I an."

"...It depends," Nathan hesitantly answered. "I still have a lot of things to ask Carlos. Once he’s given

the answers, maybe then I’ll have my own."

Soon enough, they arrived at Carlos’s residence, and the man warmly greeted them as if he was already expecting them to arrive.

"Welco back," Carlos greeted, ushering the two into his living room and giving them a spot of tea as they sat on the couch. "You suddenly left the last ti you were here. I haven’t even given you the facts about the Voyager’s watch."

"Yeah, I rember that ti," Nathan replied, casually taking a sip before continuing. "I had to leave cause the Moon Clan suddenly launched an attack against us."

"Yes, I saw a vision of it," Carlos nodded. "The one lead by Princess Raine..."

"I don’t rember her being there though," Nathan murmured out, a shot of pain surging through his head at the vague mory. "Although, I do know that they were led by the Moon Clan Princess..."

"The Moonlight Squad has been using that mory-loss powder for years to help humans forget the horrendous experiences they’ve had with rogue and evil mutants," Carlos explained. "I guess the Princess managed to erase your mory as well. Though I’m sure she has her reasons."

A sudden silence followed for a brief second, which Carlos quickly broke as he added, "You have the Voyager’s Watch with you, yes? It’s supposedly more powerful than the mory-loss powder they’re using. Using it will detoxify the powder from your system, but your missing mories will only co back once you co in contact with sothing or soone that you once forgot." He explained in length, "As the bearer of the Voyager’s Watch, it will give you power not just to use it to go back to the past, but to also peer past the veil of ti, King Nathan."

"You an he’ll have clairvoyance?" Davin interrupted in clarification.

Carlos nodded. "Yes, but he wouldn’t be able to see the past of any thing or being that possesses a barrier against scrying. Although, only a few are known to have that ability..."

After a mont’s deliberation, Nathan asked, "Does Raine have that ability?"

Carlos simply smiled, "You two are already marked for each other, my King. That alone should’ve removed any sort of barrier between you two, even if Princess Raine has that ability in her."

"I’m curious then... Can Nathan share his precognition?" Davin hypothesized. "Like, if he wants Raine to also see the past, would it be possible for him to extend his powers in a way that Raine could also see what he’s seeing?"

"What’s on your mind?" Nathan curiously asked Davin, wondering why he even asked such a question.

Davin explained himself. "I’m sure Raine would want to know what really happened between Marcus and Randall. Or anything connected with Randall’s curse, really," he shrugged. "You know I already beco curious since I started investigating it, but no one could really know what truly happened on that day. Marcus is dead, and Randall, according to my Grandmother, wouldn’t talk to anyone that isn’t his dead king. On top of that, he doesn’t seem to have any idea who he is."

"So, what? I try and dig up the past?" Nathan incredulously asked.

"Maybe," Davin replied. "If you also have the power to show Raine her past and origins, then why not do so?"

Hearing the discussion occurring, Carlos confird, "King Nathan can do that. He just needs to touch Raine while maintaining eye contact with the person that they want to see the past of."

"I see," Davin humd. "I guess having the Voyager’s Watch with you has so distinct advantages."

It was convenient, at least. They didn’t even need to look for soone with clairvoyance anymore since Nathan apparently already had said gift because of the Voyager’s watch.

"Anything else to add, Davin?" Nathan asked, seeing the man scratching his chin.

"I heard the Mirage Historian has also the gift of clairvoyance," Davin added, looking at Carlos as if waiting for a confirmation.

Seeing his cue, Carlos nodded, "I did once, but it’s gone now. I transferred the gift to the new Mirage Historian."

"How does that even work? Automatically?" Davin guessed, and Carlos simply nodded.

Nathan quickly interjected, "Don’t ask him too much about matters regarding Mirage Historians, Davin. They’re not allowed to discuss confidential matters..."

With that one reminder, Davin kept any more questions he might’ve had to himself. After a few more important conversations, the pair soon left to go to the Moon Clan Territory.

"I will see Randall tonight," Nathan inford Davin while they were inside the car.

"Wouldn’t it better that you take Raine with you and see him together?" Davin asked with knitted brows.

"Raine’s still in mourning, and I want to know what happened before we decide on whether or not she should see the past," Nathan replied.

Seeing his King’s expressionless face, Davin snorted, "It’s your call then. Either way, I’ll be there with you to replace Raine in the anti. Now, let

see the past..."

Nathan raised an eyebrow at Davin’s actions, "It’s not like you to be nosy like this."

"I know, right?" Davin grinned. "Then again, you also told

that I should know a lot more things involving the Mirage. Randall is from Sun Clan, so who knows? Maybe his past is interesting enough to watch unfold."

Nathan sighed, "I’m sure you’re interested to know more about the Sun Clan, Davin, but you might not find the thing you want to know from the man." He then stated, "His connection with the Sun Clan was severed the mont he was cursed, you know."

Davin chuckled, "I know, Uncle."

"Stop calling

Uncle when we’re almost the sa age," Nathan scolded.

"Why not? It’s fun calling you that every once in a while," Davin chuckled. "You’ve been a good uncle to

regardless of our age difference anyway. Also, we’re almost at our destination. Aren’t you going to see Raine as well?"

Nathan didn’t answer, only letting out a conflicted sigh as he stared at the looming compound in front of them.
