After Clara spoke, she was overwheld with sha. She covered her face and rushed out of the ward. She could not fall in love casually any more. Even with her previous bad experiences, she had never been so hurt in a relationship before!
One should never fall in love! Clara had apparently pushed Shirley down the hill just now, and now, her loyal man was with her, so Clara could not ask about Quinton’’s affair. She decided to wait until Shirley got better before she spoke to her seriously. She wanted to see if she could find the mastermind, so she decided she would stay in the small mountainous village in the anti. She would have to be wherever Shirley was.
Shirley was injured, so the shooting of Happy Days was paused for the ti being. All the staff gathered in the small house to talk.
Adam noticed that Clara was sitting sulkily beside a pond in front of the house. He was worried that she might be taking things too hard, so he imdiately went over to comfort her. "Miss Blackwell, it’s normal to have accidents during shooting. I believe that you didn’t push Shirley on purpose, so don’t bla yourself and take things too hard. We promise that we won’t expose that recording, so you won’t be publicly criticized on the Internet either."
"Take things too hard?" Clara turned around to look at Adam in confusion. "You’re overthinking. I’m not so dumb as to harm myself because of a playboy and pretentious witch.I’m not afraid of cyberbullying either. I’m very experienced because I was a top fan who tried hard to fight for my idol back then."
Her reply amused Adam. "That’s good. I saw you staring at the pond for ages, so I thought you wanted to jump into it."
"No, I won’t. I only feel like kicking those people gossiping about into the pond. I just found many fish in this pond, and I’m thinking about barbecuing them."
"Ha! Ha! Ha!" Adam burst into awkward laughter, at a loss for words. Clara was indeed a strange woman. He t a lot of people but it was the first ti he had t soone so unique. She was tougher than a lot of the n on his team.
"Miss Blackwell, may I ask what your relationship with Mr. Stuart is?" Adam nudged his glasses and asked carefully.
Their relationship would decide the future direction of this show, so he had to get an answer in advance.
"What relationship?" Clara frowned and tried hard to dwell on it. "Friends? Lovers? Enemies? Hmm... I don’t think we’re any of those. Maybe we’re just bedmates. We slept in the sa room last night, after all."
"Ahem, ahem!" Even if Adam was ntally prepared, he was caught off guard by her bluntness. Although she was rather bizarre, he found it easy to spend ti with her; she was better than the hypocrites of the entertainnt circle.
"No wonder you and Mr. Stuart look so close. He obviously favors you. It turns out that you guys have a rather extraordinary relationship." Adam was a director and a shrewd person. He could see that Ethan cared about Clara very much, and now he had gained confirmation from Clara, so his desire to promote Clara and do Ethan a favor deepened.
"Well, now it’s just ordinary..."
Clara frowned. "I can’t say that either. What we have now should be extraordinary because we feel like killing each other."
Adam assud that she was purposely showing off her romance, and he smirked at her. "Don’t worry, Miss Blackwell. We’re adults; I get it. I just want to ask if you’re interested in the entertainnt industry. Do you want to get popular?"
"Popular?"
"Yeah, like being a fixed guest on this show. I’m sure we only need one season to make you popular given your character," Adam said confidently. He wanted to do Ethan the favor, and he also wanted to be successful. After all, he had directed so many shows, and now he had reached a bottleneck. If he could promote soone at this point, his career would grow to another level.
"What benefits will it bring if I’m popular?" Clara raised her brows and asked him with a smile.
"There are a lot of benefits. You’ll gain fa and profit, and when people slander you, your fans will help you fight them. What’s more, you can et your idols. Isn;t that interesting?"
Adam sounded excited as he spoke, trying to persuade her.
"I can et my idols?" Clara’s eyes soon lit up. Previously, she was a pure fangirl, but ever since she got involved with Ethan, she had stopped. Now that she had decided to stop loving him, her buried fangirl instincts erged again.
"Of course! I have quite a lot of connections in the entertainnt circle. I’ll invite your idol as a guest if you agree to be a fixed guest on this show. Tell who you want to invite, and I’ll call him right away to invite him. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to et your idol?" Adam was quite persuasive, and Clara was
very much tempted. Adam could sense that she was giving in, so he quickly asked, "Can you tell who your idol is? Is it a mber of a male team? Or is he a hero in an old drama who’s gotten popular recently?"
"Both. So of the idols I like are mbers of male teams or heroes in dramas. But there’s only one I truly admire..." Clara looked up shyly. When she recalled her idol’s elegant and handso figure, she smiled like a love-struck fool.
"Who is it? I’m very curious."
"He keeps a low profile. He shot a movie a few years ago but he’s under the radar when he’s not acting. He never joins any variety shows, and there are very few interviews with him. So, it’s useless even if I tell you—there’s no way you can invite him to the show."
"Don’t be so sure of that. You have to trust my connections. I’m a movie director, but shooting variety shows has made more money for the past two years. The connections I have are beyond your imagination." He felt challenged by Clara’s words.
"Okay, I’ll tell you..." Clara rested her chin on her hands and said dreamily, "My idol is the aloof top actor with peerless talent and wit... Santiago Dalton!"
"Oh, your idol is Santiago. Well, you have great taste." Adam gave her a thumbs up. "Honestly, he’s one of the very few I admire in the entertainnt circle. He’s great but he keeps a very low profile, so it’s usually hard to find him."
