The atmosphere suddenly beca tense again. Everyone looked at Ace, waiting for his answer.

The man slowly took a sip of champagne and said aningfully, "I used to be fearless, but now, what I fear most is my wife leaving ."

"Oh no, you really are a hopeless romantic. Show so backbone, Ace!"

Ethan waved his hand. He expected that answer. It did not surprise him at all.

Clara also could not help mocking Ace. "Can you two please stop taking every opportunity to show how much you’re in love? It’s making sick. I don’t even have the appetite for the leg of lamb anymore."

Joanna was calm though. Her beautiful lips curled into a shallow smile. She looked gentle and peaceful, but there was a trace of coldness in her eyes.

She crossed her legs and wrapped the blanket tighter around her, then said to Ace, "May I ask you a question?"

Ace shrugged and said calmly, "Go ahead."

"You keep emphasizing that you’re afraid I’d leave you one day. Does that an, deep down in your heart, you don’t have much confidence in our love? Or... is there a hidden risk factor between us that I don’t know about?"

Joanna’s eyes were as sharp as her question.

"That’s right."

Ace did not deny it. "I’m not a forthright person. I have my dark side. If you discover my dark side one day, maybe you won’t forgive ."

Ace said this with a smile that carried a hint of helplessness and bitterness.

As a mortal, he had no control over which direction destiny would bring him.

If Joanna discovered his "dark side" one day and could not accept it, she would leave him and there would be nothing he could do about it.

"Dark side?"

Joanna raised her eyebrows but did not pursue the matter. She rely let out a long sigh and said, "It seems like I still don’t know you well enough."

The forrly lively campfire feast fell into a long silence, with Ace and Joanna each having their own thoughts. They were both people who had a lot of secrets.

Ethan could not stand the silence anymore. He clapped his hands and said, "Hey, I thought this was a welcoming feast! Why is everyone so serious? Let’s have so fun!"

"That’s right! Let’s have so fun!"

Clara stood up to liven up the mood.

Based on past experiences, whenever both Ace and Joanna fell silent, sothing big was bound to happen. Clara was scared!

And so, Ethan and Clara tried hard to liven up the atmosphere. They ended up getting drunk.

Clara proclaid her love for the moon. Hearing that, Ethan imdiately ran towards the sea. He said he wanted to pick up the moon from the sea to give it to her.

In the end, Ethan ripped the pull tab off a tal can and got down on one knee to propose to Clara.

"Clara, marry . Neither of us believe in love anyway. Maybe we’re ant for each other!"

Clara blushed profusely and bit her finger. Tears stread down her cheeks. "I’m so touched. The last man who proposed to was a scamr and I almost killed him. If you dare to lie to , I’ll kill you!"

"Kill if you want! If it makes you happy, I’ll willingly offer you my head!"

Ethan lowered his head to expose his neck to her.

"You fool, why would I chop off such a handso face? If you lie to , I’ll make you a gigolo so that you’ll earn money for ! Hahaha..."

Clara laughed heartily as she took the pull tab from Ethan and wore it on her ring finger.

"Nice! I have a wife now! I, Ethan Moran, finally have a wife!"

Ethan leaped up, swooped Clara off her feet and carried her on his shoulder, then walked unsteadily towards the villa.

Ace and Joanna were in shock. They stared at each other for a long ti before they snapped back to their senses.

Joanna: "Your buddy is crazy."

Ace: "Your bestie doesn’t seem that normal either."

Joanna: "Are they entering the bridal chamber now?"

Ace: "Probably."

Joanna: "Should we stop them?"

Ace: "They’re consenting adults. Whatever happens, happens."

And thus, Clara and Ethan spent a whole night doing adult stuff.

After Joanna put the two kids to bed, she sat on the beach next to the fire with Ace, drinking so wine.

The waves rose and fell. The two drank one glass after another. They were both feeling a bit tipsy by now, Ace more so than Joanna because his alcohol tolerance was low.

"We’re alone. Can you tell what your dark side is now?"

Joanna’s hair had been blown into disarray by the sea breeze. It also made her mind much clearer. In the end, she could not help but ask Ace the question that she had been holding in all evening.

"Nope!"

Ace took a sip of wine and shifted his eyes like a child. "If I tell you, you’ll get mad and leave . If I can, I’ll take it to the grave."

"Let guess..."

Joanna closed her eyes and pondered for a mont, then said confidently, "If I’m not mistaken, this dark side of yours must have sothing to do with Mr. Q, right?"

Ace’s tipsy face suddenly stiffened. His eyes also went a bit cold. "Tell what you know."

Mr. Q had always been a thorn in Ace’s heart. It was a thorn that could sever his relationship with Joanna at any mont!

He had thought about coming clean to her several tis, but he could not muster the courage.

And the longer he put it off, the less courage he had. He decided to just keep it a secret forever.

"I kept asking you today how you know about Sun Island and why you’re so familiar with the terrain here, but you’ve been avoiding answering my questions. That ans you’re hiding sothing..."

Because Joanna was a bit tipsy, she let her emotions run wild. She confronted Ace emotionally.

She wished her deduction was wrong because it was sothing that she could never forgive.

"Keep going."

Ace had actually cald down by now.

It was a problem that he would have to face sooner or later. It might not be a bad thing to get it over with.

"Do you know the origin of Sun Island?"

With teary eyes, Joanna explained, "Sun Island is a private island I bought for myself before we got married. I spent a lot of ti, money, and effort to make it a paradise for and the children. I lived a carefree life here for four years, and after that... I pawned the island to Mr. Q."

"That ans, except for Mr. Q and a few people that I trust, no one knows about this place, let alone be able to take control over it..."

"What are you trying to say?"

Ace knew that he would not be able to avoid the topic today.
