Joanna turned around and their eyes t. In his eyes, she once again saw the coldness of old.

The air seed to freeze at that mont. Even though they were on a warm island, it felt as cold as the South Pole.

Neither of them spoke, but one could feel the exchange of sharp blades between their eyes.

"Oh no!"

Clara covered her face. She knew this would happen!

The atmosphere was as eerie as a horror film. Clara, who was stuck between them, felt extrely awkward. She felt like jumping into the sea to get away.

"Umm... Mr. Moran, please don’t misunderstand. The two of us talk nonsense to each other all the ti. Sotis, we don’t really an what we say. Besides, besides..."

Clara was crumbling under the intense pressure. She racked her brains trying to make excuses for Joanna.

Although she strongly disapproved of their reunion, she did not hope to see them get into a fight over sothing so ridiculous.

"I ant everything I said."

Joanna stared at Ace expressionlessly. His coldness did not make her nervous at all. She said calmly, "Everybody wants eternal love, but fundantally, love is just the result of a sudden surge in hormones. After a while, you’ll get tired and you’ll get bored. Instead of making hypocritical promises, why not just accept the laws of human nature honestly?"

"How rational of you. If I hadn’t known better, I would have thought that I’m dating a robot."

Ace gave her a cold smile. It cut her like a sharp knife.

He was a calm, rational, and emotionally stable person himself. In fact, he was known to the public as an emotionless person.

But now, he had beco the one who had lost control of his emotions.

He lost control because of what Joanna said and did. In fact, she did not even have to do anything; rely her rational attitude was enough to make him lose control!

Joanna continued expressionlessly, "Don’t flatter . I can’t compare to a robot. A robot can guarantee to treat you the sa way forever. I can’t guarantee that."

"So what you’re saying is, you’re ntally prepared to leave already?"

Ace clenched his fists and gritted his teeth.

"I wouldn’t say that, but... I wouldn’t get hung up on the idea of eternal love either. Let nature take its course. We’ll stay together if we feel like it, and we’ll break up if we feel like it. You feel the sa way, don’t you?"

"No, I don’t!"

Ace’s eyes were as deep as black holes that would suck everything in. He gave her a firm stare. "From the mont I decided to start over with you, I never thought of breaking up."

Even Clara was a bit moved by his words, let alone Joanna.

As a forr stan of the "Moran My Pierce" ship, her desire to stan the couple once again burned fiercely, but she tried to suppress the impulse with reason.

’Wake up, Clara Blackwood! A collapsed ship is not worth stanning!’

Clara looked at Joanna. She thought Joanna must be really touched too, like she was. She was half expecting pink bubbles to pop up around Joanna.

After all, no woman in the world could resist sweet words from the man she loved, right?!

But surprisingly, Joanna seed puzzled instead. She kindly reminded Ace, "Your nose will grow out if you lie."

Ace: "..."

Clara: "..."

Joanna was worried that Ace’s ego might be bruised, so she softened her attitude and, like a mother coaxing a rebellious son, said, "The moon always wanes after it becos full. Sotis, it’s a bad on to make empty promises too early. I’m just worried that we might be disappointed. That’s why I’m planning for the future."

"You an you’ve been thinking of a "future" with ?"

"Of course!"

Joanna held the handso man’s face and teased him, "If I don’t plan to have a long-term relationship with you, why would I waste my ti? Look at you. Your face becos tense so easily. It’s not handso anymore. Co on, smile for . I love your smile. It captivates every ti."

"Stop being glib with . I warn you, if you dare leave , I’ll break your leg."

Ace’s tone was still cool and arrogant, but his mood had obviously improved, and he could not help but smile.

"I know, I know. Hurry up and make dinner already. Clara’s starving!"

"Fine. Ethan is roasting a leg of lamb. It should be done soon. Let’s head over there."

After that, he gave Joanna a possessive kiss and went away to prepare dinner.

Clara watched everything with wide eyes. She remained shocked for a long ti.

"T-That’s it?"

She gulped hard and asked, "Joanna, what did you do? How did you ta the legendary giant iceberg who’s used to being in control? I was ready for him to erupt, but his rage subsided so easily and he’s even making dinner for us! He’s beco a model husband!"

"I don’t know..."

Joanna shrugged and let out a long sigh. "It’s probably karma. It’s like he beca who I used to be."

They set up the welcoming feast on a beach on the west side of Sun Island. The beach was flat and vast, with soft, fine sand. Because it was well above sea level, it was basically not affected by high tides. It had always been the best gathering spot on the island.

A campfire and a barbecue grill had been set up on the beach. A huge lamb leg was on the grill, ready for consumption. It was sizzling and dripping oil. The aroma was very tempting.

"Sun Island is still as relaxing as ever. It’s totally my dream island!"

Clara faced the sea and spread open her arms, embracing the wind and the waves. Her body and mind felt relaxed.

Adie and Abby had a great ti playing with their newly-t uncle Ethan, but when they saw Clara, they imdiately abandoned Ethan and ran towards her.

"You’re here too, Aunt Clara! Yay! Adie and I missed you so much!"

Abby gave Clara a sweet smile and plunged into Clara’s arms, then gave her a big kiss on the cheek.

"Long ti no see, my little princess. You look even cuter now. Let give you a kiss back."

Clara held the little girl’s face and kissed her repeatedly.

When it was Adie’s turn, the little boy crossed his arms, turned his head away, and said solemnly, "I’m a boy and you’re a girl, so we can’t kiss or we’ll have to get married."

This was the conclusion Adie ca to after he saw Ace and Joanna kiss each other following an argunt.

"Huh? That’s..."

Clara was speechless.

"Dinner’s ready! Co here, everyone!"

Ethan knocked on a champagne glass and greeted everyone as if he was the island’s owner. He had completely made himself at ho.

All of them gathered by the fire. The long dining table had various delicious food on it. It was decorated with flowers and ribbons, making the mood very romantic.

"Kids, Aunt Clara would like to perform a show for us. Let’s enjoy the show before we start eating."

Ethan smiled at Clara, who was sitting across from him, through the flickering candlelight.
