"Umm..."
Seeing the thick cane, Susan and Ace could not help but gulp.
"Isn’t this cane a bit too thick?"
Susan asked Adie cautiously.
Although she had already decided to sell her son out to get in her grandchildren’s good books, she had never beaten Ace before, and now she had to beat him with such a thick cane? She could not do it.
"It’s not. This is just a normal cane. Mommy said caning is good for building character. The harder you hit, the better the person’s character would turn out. Your son is bullying the weak now because you didn’t cane him enough when he was young.
Adie tried to convince Susan with logic and reasoning.
Susan stared at the thick cane and frowned. She rubbed the little boy’s head and asked, "You an your Mommy hits you with this a lot?"
"No."
Adie said seriously, "Mommy just uses it to intimidate . She rarely beats . She said other people’s children get caned with this, but I don’t because I’m a good boy and I never do anything bad. Unlike your son, who did so many bad things. You should give him a proper beating!"
Ace: "..."
’What a filial son you are, Adie!’
"You’re right. A pampered child is a spoiled child. He turned out like this because I spoiled him. He needs a beating."
Susan took the cane from Adie and walked over to Ace. She lowered her voice and said, "Brat, cooperate with to make my grandchildren happy."
Ace’s handso face stiffened. He said coldly, "You’re gonna beat your own son to please your grandchildren? Are you out of your mind?"
"There’s nothing I can do about it. It’s your fault for doing all those bad things. You deserve it."
"What bad things did I do?"
"You held their Mommy under you and tried to bite her. You’re getting off easy with just a beating."
Ace was embarrassed and exasperated. "I know the kids don’t understand what happened, but don’t tell you don’t. Stop fooling around and just go ho!"
"No way! I finally have the grandchildren that I’ve been dreaming of. I’m not leaving them..."
Susan approached Ace and mocked, "You little brat, you always seem as indifferent to won as a monk, but you actually did those things in secret and have even produced two kids. This calls for a celebration! I’ll go ho and discuss with your father about holding a grand banquet that lasts three months. We’ll also give everyone in the City a reward of $1000 so that everyone can celebrate with us!
Ace facepald and said, "Mom, I beg you, please go ho and give the children and I so space."
He actually did not plan to let Susan know about the children because he was worried that Susan would make a big deal out of it and scare Joanna away.
After all, his relationship with Joanna was still very tense. A single disagreent was all it would take for them to beco enemies. He did not want this matter to be a topic of gossip for everyone in the City.

Ace was annoyed.

Ace denied it. "Seraphina and I are just buddies."

Ace couldn’t help but chuckle. "Mom, you’re so picky..."
"Who else can it be? I can count on one hand the number of won you have a relationship with. It can’t be Alice Desrosiers, right? I thought she’s infertile."
When Susan arrived at a certain assumption, her eyes suddenly widened. She visibly jolted and exclaid, "Oh, I’m so silly! So it’s her! The legal daughter-in-law of the Moran family... To think that I searched far and wide but the person I was looking for was right next to all along!"
Ace did not deny it. He rely replied with a voice filled with disappointnt, "Wrong. You an the forr daughter-in-law. She’s single now."
"Oh, thank the Lord. It’s just one pleasant surprise after another. I’m so happy that I’m going to pass out!"
Susan covered her mouth with her hands. She was overjoyed and excited. She then gave Ace a hard slap. "Way to go, brat. As expected of my son. Now that I have a daughter-in-law, a grandson, and a granddaughter, I can finally stop worrying about you."
In recent years, she had suggested many wealthy and famous won for Ace, but to be honest, she was not satisfied with any of them. They simply could not match up to her forr daughter-in-law, Joanna.
She used to be dissatisfied with Joanna too, but her admiration for Joanna gradually grew with ti. After Joanna left her son, she had been living a wonderful life. Joanna founded the "Stellar Group" and had the guts to compete with n in a field traditionally dominated by n. Susan now admired Joanna from the bottom of her heart.
She was even starting to feel like her boring son was no longer worthy of Joanna. She had already given up hope on Joanna ever becoming her daughter-in-law again.
But now, her good daughter-in-law had actually given birth to two adorable kids for the Moran family! Oh, God is good!
"What are you talking about? She won’t give the ti of day and has no intention of giving Adie and Abby. I’m still trying to solve the problem here."
Ace sighed and showed his helpless side to Susan for the first ti ever.
This was also the first ti in his life he had felt so powerless.
He had always been able to deal with won easily, but he was powerless against Joanna!
"Isn’t that to be expected? Think of all the things you did to her. If I were her, I wouldn’t give you the ti of day either."
The thought of that made Susan give Ace another whip of the cane.
Ace said pitifully, "Mom, you too?..."
"What? I’m on the side of justice. Bad guys like you need to be taught a lesson!"
Susan turned around and told the two kids, "Watch , kids, I’m going to give him pain!"
At the sa ti, she lowered her voice and told Ace, "Don’t worry, I’ll find a way to help you win her back. I’m your mother after all, so I have to help you."
