When Joanna and Liam arrived at the headquarters of Moran Group, the oppressed employees soon broke into an uproar.
It was because Moran Group’s experienced employees of more than four years were well aware of the heart-wrenching love affair between Joanna and their president. All of them supported the love they nad "Moran My Pierce."
"She’s here. I think about it and have yearned for it for four years. Finally, Mrs. Moran is back. I know that the couple I supported is real!"
"Oh, gosh! Mrs. Moran beca prettier, and her body beca sexier. Her temperant is outstanding too. I feel that Mr. Moran doesn’t deserve her..."
"Mr. Moran has been missing for a long ti, and Moran Group is quite chaotic now. Has Mrs. Moran co out of nowhere to take over Moran Group?"
The employees whispered to each other. On the one hand, they were surprised at her great charms; on the other, they tried to guess her purpose for visiting Moran Group suddenly.
Joanna hurried forward. There was not much emotion on her aloof and beautiful face. She walked straight to the receptionist and said, "Lisa, tell Ace I want to see him."
There was an innate sternness and power in her calm and steady voice that imdiately garnered command and respect. She was vastly different from the woman she was previously, who was gentle and warm.
Lisa, the receptionist, was her old acquaintance. At that mont, she inexplicably beca nervous. She swallowed slightly and said carefully, ’ Mrs... Mrs. Moran, welco back. It’s been many days since Mr. Moran last ca. I’m afraid that he can’t see you for the ti being."
"He didn’t co for many days, huh?"
Joanna’s gaze turned sharp while trying to decide if the statent was true.
"Yes, we can’t reach him now. We don’t know where he is or what happened either. You ca all of a sudden, so we thought you must’ve co bearing news!"
After speaking to Joanna, Lisa was not as nervous as before. She told Joanna everything she knew.
After all, she had a good rapport with the employees there when she was still Mrs. Moran, often bringing them food or gifts. She had bribed them well, and all the employees in Moran Group liked her.
After dwelling on it for a while, she decided to believe Lisa’s statent.
Both Ace and she got hurt together, and his injury was much more serious. He should be recuperating at the hospital now. It was unsurprising that he would not be at Moran Group now.
Joanna raised her eyes and continued, "Then did you guys see a boy here these few days?"
"A boy?"
After dwelling on it, Lisa answered excitedly, "Yes, there was. Was it a very cute and handso boy, around four to five years old, in a checkered suit jacket... He was so cute and handso, so I have a very deep impression of him. I even took a picture!"
"Show it to now!" Joanna urged Lisa eagerly.
Lisa clicked on her phone’s gallery and found Adie’s photograph.
The photo showed the security guard leading Adie into Moran Group’s building.
"The security guard claid that it was his relative’s child and no one could take care of him at the mont, so he let the boy stay in the lounge temporarily and would pick him up when he got off his shift. But I didn’t pay attention to when he picked the boy up," Lisa answered honestly.
"My Adie..."
Joanna stared closely at the boy in the photo, whom she had not t for a long ti. Soon her eyes turned red.
Although it was very unlikely that Adie would be bullied, given his experience of the world, he had co to Moran Group after all. If his identity were to be discovered by schers and bad hats, it would prove a little more than troubleso.
"Don’t worry."
Liam patted Joanna’s back and consoled her with a low voice. He then told Lisa with a serious expression, "Call that security guard over.
Lisa had a strong character. She peeked at Liam and said stubbornly, "I’m sorry. I work for Mr. Moran. Why should I take orders from a nobody like you?"
Lisa was not the only one-all the employees in Moran Group found Liam an eyesore. He was regarded as the greatest culprit who wrecked the love affair between Joanna and Ace. They wanted nothing but to drive him away.
Joanna took a deep breath and tried her best to calm herself down. She gently told Lisa, "Please ask that security guard to co here."
Lisa nodded imdiately, "Okay, Mrs. Moran. I’ll call him over now."
At tis, Joanna’s command worked much better than Ace’s in Moran Group. Everyone obeyed her without question.
That was the great charm of her personality.
The security guard ca to the lobby of the company after a while.
When he saw Joanna, he got down on his knees imdiately and hurriedly said, "Mrs. Moran, I know nothing. I just acted kindly and brought the kid to the lounge to rest, but I don’t know where he went afterward or who took him away. If sothing happened, it has nothing to do with ."
"Calm down. I’m not here to punish you," Joanna spoke quietly. "I just want to know what the boy experienced and find him as soon as possible."
"Umm... This..."
The security guard trembled all over. He dared not look into Joanna’s eyes as he stamred, "I...I saw a boy alone outside the company yesterday, so I ran over and asked him where his parents were. He told that his father works here, and he was waiting for him to get off work. I was worried that he might bump into bad guys, so I took him to the lounge to let him wait for his father. But he went missing the mont I turned around... I’m telling the truth. I’m not lying! Mrs. Moran, you must trust ."
The security guard guessed that the boy’s identity was special, and he feared he might be implicated.
After all, he was the one who brought the child into the company. If sothing were to happen to him, he would not be able to clear his na. He might have even done the kid a great disservice.
"So, the last ti you saw him was at the lounge of Moran Group?"
Joanna confird with the security guard.
"Yes, I wanted to get so snacks for him, but he was already gone when I returned to the lounge. I thought his father had co to pick him up, so I didn’t think much about it."
"Okay, I got it. Go back to your work now."
Joanna felt that he was telling the truth, so she did not make things too difficult for him.
She then asked Lisa, "Can I check out your surveillance videos?"
"Err..."
Lisa appeared to be in a dilemma. "Yes, I can show you the public zone, but only Mr. Moran has the power to check out the superior zone. However, we can’t reach him now, so..."
"Then let’s check out the public zone first."
As for the superior zone, she could hack into it at any ti, given how weak the security system of Moran Group was.
"No problem. I’ll take you to the technical departnt now."
They went to the technical departnt on the third floor of the building. Based on the retrieved surveillance video, Adie did go to Moran Group. With his strong countersurveillance skill, however, he had managed to avoid all the surveillance caras on his way.
Alas, he made a careless mistake, and he was seen taking the president’s exclusive elevator to the top floor of Moran Group, where the president’s office was located.
"I’m sorry, Mrs. Moran. We don’t have the right to retrieve surveillance videos in the presidential zone. We need his permission, so... Why don’t you contact him first?"
Lisa suggested carefully.
"That won’t be necessary."
A voice ca from behind them. A tall and handso man walked over
