Ti dragged on as we stood ready, the air heavy with anticipation. Every creak of armor, every rustle of the wind felt amplified in the stillness. Then, breaking the tense silence, a loud alarm bell rang out from sowhere outside the city.

CLANG!

The sound reverberated through the walls, sharp and urgent, sending a jolt through everyone who heard it. This was the mont we knew the ti had co—the signal we’d been waiting for. The monsters had finally been summoned, or spawned, and they were now advancing toward us, ready to invade the city and destroy the Blue Crystal Altar.

anwhile, standing at the top of the north gate wall, we could see them in the distance. At first, they were just a shifting blur, but as they got closer, it was clear—there were a lot of them. About 500 green-skinned monsters, all rushing toward us like they had a personal grudge. They weren’t just approaching; they were charging, weapons in hand, looking like they were ready to tear through anything in their way.

ROAAARRR!!!

Of course, the green-skinned monsters were none other than the Goblins—the classic, cliché early-ga monsters you’d find in almost every fantasy story or ga. Weak, dumb, and easy to squash, right? At least, that’s what I thought.

But sothing about this felt... off. Their movents were too coordinated, too deliberate. Goblins weren’t supposed to be this organized. They looked like they actually knew what they were doing, which, frankly, seed way too smart for their kind.

So, out of curiosity, I activated my Level Scan ability to check their levels—and what I saw nearly made choke.

Holy shit! These weren’t your everyday cannon-fodder Goblins. These were S-Rank Goblins. All of them.

Now, one or two S-Rank Goblins? Manageable and not much of an issue. But an army of 500? That’s a whole different nightmare.

Goddamnit! To make matters worse, we couldn’t even close the north gate. We needed to keep them focused on this side. If we closed this gate, they might switch targets and try to break through the east, west, and south gates instead—and we couldn’t let that happen. Splitting the party to defend multiple gates would be far too risky. After all, we perform better when we stick together as a team, rather than splitting up.

"Those of you who are tanky, get to the front now and keep them from entering the city!!!" Thorin commanded.

WHOOSH!

Without wasting any ti, I leapt down from the towering wall and positioned myself right outside the north gate entrance. Well, they’re just goblins anyway, so I should be able to hold them off for quite a while. I might die of course, but it’s fine—with Sasha’s powerful heals and buffs, I should be able to last long enough to be useful.

Phew, thankfully, there weren’t any boss monsters in sight—no Goblin Chiefs, no Goblin Captains, just regular Goblin Soldiers. That was a relief, at least for now. While the situation wasn’t too dire at the mont, what really worried was the number of monster waves we might have to face.

If it was just one wave, it’d be manageable, but with the sun still hanging high in the sky, it looked like it was barely noon. That ant we’d probably be stuck holding out for a while. Ugh, looks like this is going to be a long day.

Additionally, while Thorin was strong, I couldn’t afford to let him waste his energy on these goblins. It would be wiser for him to conserve his strength in case a boss monster might show up later in the next wave. Of course, I wasn’t sure if there would be multiple waves of monsters; still, it never hurts to play it safe.

Nevertheless, Thorin still joined the battle, though. I suppose his warrior spirit just couldn’t resist the fight. Well, at least he took it easy on the goblins and didn’t waste too much energy, so that’s a bit of a relief. Plus, with my recent level-up and stat increase, I’ve gotten a lot stronger than before, so I can definitely contribute more to the party this ti.

"Hahaha! Bring it on, you filthy goblins!" I said, my excitent building as the battle raged on.

PUNCH! PUNCH! PUNCH! KICK! KICK! KICK! DODGE! DODGE! DODGE!

Seeing my excitent, everyone smiled, their own excitent building up too as they pressed on against the goblins.

"Hey, bastard! I don’t know what happened to you, but it looks like you’ve gotten a lot stronger than last ti. That’s good, but don’t forget—you’re still nothing but trash compared to ! Hahaha!" John mocked, a smirk on his face.

This son of a bitch... I can’t tell if he genuinely hates or actually likes . Either way, I’ve got a bad feeling about him, especially with the way he fights using dark magic. He just seems like the type who’d throw us under the bus if it ant doing things for his own gain. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up backstabbing or betraying us down the line. Guess I’ll have to keep an eye on John from now on, just in case he does sothing stupid in the future.

HEALING! BUFFING!

Thanks, Sasha," I said. I never forget her kindness, so I always made sure to thank her as a way to show my gratitude. Why? Because I’m not the type to take advantage of soone’s kindness—that would be immoral, right?

Well, it’s not like I’m a saint or anything, I just don’t like owing people anything. Too bad, I’d have paid her generously if we were on Earth, but I doubt she’d care about material things anyway. So, I guess just saying thank you should be enough to make her happy.

KRAAARRR!!!

The goblins were everywhere. It was a ss. I punched one in the face, sent it flying, then turned around to catch another swing from a goblin with a sword. I blocked it, but the force nearly knocked off balance. These little green freaks were tougher than I expected.

"Keep pushing them back! Don’t let them get through!" Thorin’s booming voice thundered ahead of , carrying the kind of authority that made you want to obey without question. His massive greatsword sliced through a cluster of goblins like they were nothing more than blades of grass.

Honestly, watching him fight was oddly satisfying. His raw power and intimidating presence alone lifted everyone’s morale. Thank God we have a party leader like him—he makes everything feel more manageable.

anwhile, I continued doing my part, throwing punches and dodging swings. One goblin tried to jab with a spear, but I caught it mid-thrust and snapped the shaft like a twig. "You guys are persistent, I’ll give you that," I muttered, kicking the poor thing in the gut. It crumpled to the ground with a wheeze.

Behind , Sasha was doing her thing, chanting spells and keeping us in the ga. "You’ve got this, everyone! Stay strong!" Her voice was steady, and the golden glow of her buffs made everything feel just a little bit easier.

"Thanks, Sasha!" I called over my shoulder, right as another goblin charged . I sidestepped and slamd my elbow into its face. It dropped like a sack of potatoes.

John, of course, couldn’t resist running his mouth. "Look at you, actually holding your own for once!" he sneered, blasting a group of goblins with one of his dark magic skills. "Don’t get too full of yourself, though! You’re still just an amateur compared to ! Bahaha!"

Man, this guy is really getting on my nerves. He’s basically a walking reminder of those toxic players I used to deal with in the video ga "League of Legends." Too bad I’m still too weak to go against him right now, but mark my words, one day I’m definitely gonna teach this clown a lesson he’ll never forget.
