Qin Wei pulled herself together and followed He Hong and Li Yao to socialize. Fortunately, apart from Mr. Han who was quite aggressive at the beginning, the others did not force her to drink. However, they were also not as explicit as Mr. Han in stating their intentions about future investnts.
So who wanted to have a few drinks with the two leads were all warded off by Li Yao's excuses.
"Su Yang, have you seen President Zheng over there? You guys are more familiar so no need for to introduce. Please take Qin Wei over to say hi. The lady next to him is his wife, don't get the na wrong."
He Hong said while pointing to a middle-aged man in a suit and leather shoes.
Su Yang did as told and exchanged a look with Qin Wei. The two went over quite in sync with forced smiles.
"President Zheng, long ti no see! You're here too!"
Su Yang revealed a bright smile while greeting and introducing Qin Wei to the other party.
The woman next to President Zheng kept smiling at Qin Wei. Qin Wei also politely nodded back at her.
No wonder He Hong told them not to get the na wrong. President Zheng looked at least fifty while his wife was very young. One would think she was only twenty-five.
Looking at the two of them, President Zheng could not help but sigh:
"I've read this novel before. You two are what I imagine the young couple would look like. Wei Ning cp right? How lovely!"
Su Yang and Qin Wei nodded.
Anything is fine as long as you're happy with your imagination.
"I don't think so."
President Zheng's wife glared at President Zheng to show her displeasure.
"Old Zheng, there's no cp feel between them at all. Look at how estranged they seem. They're clearly a middle-aged couple who can't stand each other!"
President Zheng patted his wife's hand:
"Oh right, you're absolutely right!"
I see, President Zheng's wife doesn't like this. Investnt could be at risk!
"So Old Zheng, continue investing for !"
President Zheng's wife's words surprised all three of them.
President Zheng looked at his wife, full of confusion:
"You don't even like it but still want to invest? Dear, I don't understand."
President Zheng's wife had a fierce expression:
"We'll hire the screenwriter and have the male lead written off. The female lead will focus on her career. I want to see Qin Wei act out soone in power who doesn't love anyone! My Wei Wei has to focus on her career!!"
After speaking, she looked at Qin Wei full of anticipation.
Su Yang: "!!!"
Qin Wei picked up a glass of red wine and said to President Zheng's wife:
"Let's put aside the plot and investnt for now. I still want to thank you for your support. My gratitude is all in this glass."
President Zheng's wife was both shocked and delighted. She quickly clinked glasses and drank the wine in one go.
At this point, President Zheng's wife suddenly had a change of heart. Her tone also softened a lot:
"Oh I actually like anything you act in. The plot is still up to the director right! If I'm not satisfied I'll just watch the cut scenes. It'll just be money spent to give the lady fans material. Old Zheng, you'll continue investing right?"
President Zheng looked at his wife affectionately:
"Alright, investnt, as long as you're happy!"
They didn't state how much they would invest but their attitude was clear. Su Yang found an excuse to bring Qin Wei away. As they walked, Qin Wei lanted:
"Didn't expect to witness a tycoon and his young wife plotline in person. It's quite sweet~"
Su Yang looked at her. After two glasses, she still seed fine. So he understood that her alcohol intolerance was not the issue.
"Not drinking is your principle right? Qin Wei, this may be blunt but I feel like one should have principles. Keeping your word is a principle. Saying you won't touch it and not touching it is also a principle. Just for the sake of investnt, you gave up your principles. That makes you seem spineless."
Su Yang's voice was not loud but colder than before.
"There are also many who scold but we did nothing wrong. I have faith in our drama. We have so many brand partners, it's up to them whether they stay or leave. Can't we just do our part well? I hope you stop this. Don't make look down on you."
Qin Wei chuckled. Her eyes showed a hint of drunkenness. She raised her hand and patted Su Yang's shoulder before walking ahead to He Hong.
"...Boss Qian, you're right! I think the sa!"
Seeing Qin Wei co over, He Hong imdiately introduced:
"This is our drama's female lead. Great looks right? And hardworking too. She did several action scenes in a row. The few boys in the crew couldn't take it but our Wei Wei didn't complain once. Among peers, I've always seen potential in her..."
He Hong chatted and laughed with several investors while Li Yao stood by the side chiming in, toasting when possible.
Xiao Chen could really drink. After a few drinks, Li Yao's face had turned red but Xiao Chen was still going as if drinking water.
On closer look though, he was not completely sober either. He was a bit shy when they first ca in. But now, when he looked at Su Yang, his gaze had beco bolder from the alcohol.
Qin Wei could not help spacing out. The bit of wine she drank was making her head spin a little.
"Hold up, Little Li. I really don't want to keep drinking with you. At most I'll have one more glass. Don't stop . I have no other intentions, just want Miss Qin to humor with a toast, that's all!"
Boss Qian's tongue was getting tangled from the drinking. But he was still speaking politely, smiling at Qin Wei the whole ti.
Li Yao deliberately shuffled in front of Boss Qian, blocking his view:
"Boss Qian, I've already raised my glass. Please humor and finish this drink with first!"
Boss Qian pushed Li Yao away, not controlling his strength in his drunken state. Then he said to Qin Wei again:
"Or does Miss Qin want to scold again?"
I see, Qin Wei must have scolded him before over sothing.
Although she didn't know the reason, Qin Wei's reputation for scolding sponsors and peers was probably not unfounded.
Qin Wei hesitated for a bit but still raised her glass:
"Will this one drink be enough to let bygones be bygones?"
"Alright."
Before she could drink, the glass was snatched from her hand by Su Yang. Su Yang looked at her with bewildernt and a hint of anger:
"That's enough. Where's your dignity??"
"Su Yang!"
Before Qin Wei could speak, He Hong already scolded:
"Drinking so wine and you forget who you are! Go back and reflect!!"
Seeing Boss Qian was a bit embarrassed, He Hong tried to smooth things over:
"He's drunk and knows no better. Boss Qian, don't take it to heart with him."
Of course Boss Qian also didn't want to tear all facades. But he still had to vent his dissatisfaction:
"Young n want to play hero in front of their crushes. We were all young once so it's understandable. Since you took her drink, have that one on her behalf to humor then."
Su Yang's voice was not loud but his enunciation was clear:
"I won't drink."
He Hong shot an ominous look at Su Yang and picked up a glass of red wine saying to Boss Qian:
"He won't drink so I'll drink in his place. Boss Qian let's go chat over there. He's drunk and doesn't know the imnsity of heaven and earth. I'll bring him to apologize tomorrow after he's sober. Scold him after he's awake and aware!"
Boss Qian was also very unhappy at this point. He's also a boss, yet they were the ones asking him here. They had a favor to ask of him but were tricking him like this!
"No."
Boss Qian also pushed He Hong away.
"Isn't this bullying ? Either I leave now or they both must drink this wine today."
