Vol 2 Chapter 30: Forging the Land into a Ship

Facing endless enemies, holding ground was normal, but as ti passed, the world kept expanding, with oceans growing much faster than land. This eventually developed into the Chenyao Dynasty confined to a corner, having to resist endless assaults from all directions.

Relatively speaking, hit-and-run tactics were a better strategy, allowing them to maintain initiative, but they previously lacked materials and technology.

Now, they had the materials.

The earth thirstily absorbed the invaders' remains, converting them into leyline energy. A team of cultivators seized the opportunity while energy overflowed, drawing new formation arrays on the mountain ranges until they rose from the ground, drawing stellar power into the mountains.

Stars were the world's second energy absorption system. Although the "Heavenly Stars" that protected the Chenyao Dynasty couldn't establish connections with the mortal realm in its final years, people could still utilize stellar power, and quite efficiently at that.

On one hand, technological progress allowed mass production of spiritual materials while improving formation efficiency. On the other hand, many newborns might be celestial stars descending to mortal realm, but with too many geniuses, it was hard to identify them all. Even when encountering their corresponding stars, they might not notice anything unusual.

"Commander, we're twenty percent ahead of schedule. Our efficiency is good. Should we push harder to do more, or take a break?"

"Let's push a bit more."

One could see that under the efforts of hundreds of millions of Secret Realm stage cultivators, peaks continuously rose from the earth every mont, slowly flying toward the expanding floating continent.

Using legacy technology from the "Lanting rmaids," the great cultivators made slight modifications that allowed small peaks to achieve power resonance. The incredibly resilient earth could maintain leyline power even when broken into countless fragnts, permitting reassembly.

This way, they could gradually dismantle the continent without needing to research how to move the entire landmass at once.

Soon enough, they would be able to lt the continent into a ship, adorned with stars, patrolling the boundless seas to hunt invaders.

A busy cultivator watching the rising peaks suddenly had a whimsical thought: "Hey, commander, legends say heaven and earth imitated the Divine Martial Emperor, causing various strange changes and gaining incredible wonders. Since the earth can maintain functionality even when cut up like this, does that an the Divine Martial Emperor could also maintain vitality after infinite division, without losing any power at all?"

The commander imagined that scenario and barely managed to keep his expression neutral through exceptional self-control, calmly saying: "If it's His Majesty, such things would probably be effortless."

The new generation really had such fearless childish talk. Decades ago, even during the most lenient tis, no one dared to casually discuss the emperor. Now, even those who pretended compliance while resisting had all been dealt with, yet such thoughts erged. This thought control was both strict and loose sohow.

But he could understand that lack of fear, understand this worship. After all, this emperor truly worked alongside them "farming the land" and "opening mountains," even taking on the heaviest workloads.

The cultivator pressed further: "But if His Majesty could do such things, why doesn't he divide himself to guard every region? Even if each region only had a fraction of his power, it should be enough to stop those invaders. Then we wouldn't need to dismantle mountains."

The commander shook his head and explained: "His Majesty isn't absolutely invincible. His strength was tempered through hardship. He said that eventually, soone would surpass him, and our enemies might be stronger than him."

Although he didn't believe this possibility at all, it sowhat illustrated the Divine Martial Emperor's expectations for them.

"We must exhaust all our efforts to prepare for the most extre situations. Discovering the enemy isn't strong after giving our all is better than laziness leading to certain death."

"Besides, His Majesty is working too."

Mount Dishan, in so ways, corresponded to the emperor's spine. This divine mountain once used for sacrifices, seemingly capable of supporting heaven and earth, had now been pulled out by Mo Wen's own hands.

But it wasn't installed at the center of the floating island to continue as a heaven-supporting divine pillar. Instead, it was placed horizontally, like a warship's keel or a massive battering ram.

Imitating Mo Wen's resilient vitality, it showed no adverse reactions to this rough transformation, quickly adapting to the situation. While continuously growing thicker, its tallic-yet-wooden appendages rapidly entwined the floating island, directly reinforcing it through physical ans.

Nearby, Long Yunshui felt a chill through their dragon tendons, shuddering several tis: "Thinking that you're still maintaining the connection between heaven and humanity, it feels like you're pulling out your own spine to refine artifacts."

"Ha, but I must be overthinking it, right?"

"You probably don't feel anything, do you?"

Mo Wen remained silent, not answering, seemingly contemplating his next move.

His serious expression inexplicably frightened Long Yunshui, until Mo Wen finally spoke, temporarily freeing them from this strange emotion.

"Can you use your True Dragon vision to determine leyline flows and identify the most stable placent for each Secret Realm?"

Long Yunshui observed for a long ti before roughly confirming these complex patterns: "Barely. I alone might not achieve perfection. I'll need to map it out and consult with other experts on details."

Mo Wen understood: "Then that's your next task. Also, rember to visit those researching the 'Void-breaking Engines.' The engines must be installed, properly installed, with room for expansion."

Long Yunshui shrugged: "Alright, I'll rember. But I don't think that functionality is useful. Not only can't we find target worlds now, with you here, we obviously won't reach the point of needing to escape."

"Although the Peerless Realm was sothing I made up back then, I now think we should specially reserve a Peerless Realm above all other realms just for you."

"You freak—others research, you learn and grow stronger, your people grow stronger, and as emperor you grow stronger too. After defeating a wave of invaders with easy victory, you actually grew slightly stronger again. With this monster talent where what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and this world's greatest martial power, what are you afraid of?"

Because I've been unlucky enough to encounter creatures that could easily kill over ten thousand tis in succession.

Mo Wen didn't voice this reason that might shake people's confidence, simply answering: "Better safe than sorry."

"The Shelter Project, Imitation Project, Patrol Project, and Abyss Return Project are all proceeding simultaneously. This is just one of them."

"I'm also planning to dismantle the sun, or make several copies to take with us."

"That mad dragon and giant tree I dealt with last ti—the giant tree at its peak seed capable of preying on suns, and that mad dragon's techniques seed usable for creating new suns... What a pity."

Long Yunshui rolled their eyes: "Could you not ntion that? Kneading dragons into mud, grinding bones to dust—just hearing it makes hurt."

"Never mind, I'll get to work."
