Rong Zhi had a rough idea, she released her hand and scanned the office until she found the electric kettle. She walked over to get so warm water from the water dispenser, then put it on to boil. From her pocket, she pulled out a lollipop, unwrapped it, and tossed it in.

An indescribable sll began to spread through the office.

Rong Zhi stared expressionlessly at the kettle.

Thankfully, it was lunchti and all the teachers in the office had gone to eat or go ho. Otherwise, they would have surely kicked Rong Zhi out.

It was simply too awful.

So awful that Old Li, whose sore throat was at its worst, forgot to cough.

Slling the stench in the air, the pain in his throat miraculously lessened significantly.

The kettle boiled three tis in total before the sll beca almost tangible. Only then did Rong Zhi keep track of the ti and turn it off.

She carried the kettle over and softly asked, "Mr. Li, where are the disposable cups?"

Old Li covered his nose and pointed in a direction.

What on earth had Rong Zhi brewed? Why did it sll so unbearable?

He didn’t know, but not only would he have to sll it, he would also have to drink it soon.

When Rong Zhi placed a cup filled with black dicinal liquid in front of him, Old Li expressed his refusal.

"This... can this be drunk? It won’t poison , will it?"

"Yes," Rong Zhi replied calmly as she placed the cup on the table when he didn’t take it. "Your immune system is down, your throat hurts, there’s a strong foreign body sensation, it’s itchy—it’s acute pharyngitis, with symptoms of worsening inflammation."

Old Li: "?!?"

"You know dicine?!"

Rong Zhi nodded slightly, her voice calm, "You’ve had this illness for almost three years, haven’t you?"

Old Li was shocked and uncertain, still trying to co to terms with the fact that his student knew dicine. He nodded dumbly, "Yes, it’s been over two years."

Rong Zhi made a sound of acknowledgnt, "Drink the dicine, this is a specially prepared Chinese herbal dicine, it has so effect on your illness."

After going around in circles, he still had to drink the dicine.

Old Li stared at the cup of mysterious, foul-stenched dicine in front of him, internally repeating that his student wouldn’t harm him. With a stiff expression, he picked up the cup reluctantly, closed his eyes tightly, and gulped the dicine down in one go!

Strangely, it slled bad, but tasted surprisingly good.

A bit bitter, with a hint of sourness, and an aftertaste of sweetness.

The most important thing was, not even a minute after drinking it, his throat wasn’t itchy anymore.

Old Li touched his throat with pleasant surprise and curiosity, trying to cough a couple of tis.

Even the throat pain had significantly lessened!

Although there was still a slight stinging pain, compared to the earlier difficulty in speaking, it was already very good.

Noticing Old Li’s reaction, Rong Zhi knew the dicine was effective. She swirled the remaining dicinal liquid in the kettle and asked, "Do you want more?"

Old Li completely forgot about his earlier strong resistance to the dicine, his mind filled with the pleasant feeling from the dicinal liquid, his eyes sparkling, sweeping away the usual stern and rigid look, and unconsciously raising his voice by two degrees: "Yes!"

Rong Zhi handed him the whole kettle and let him pour it himself.

She noticed a stack of sticky notes on the table and, after asking Old Li, she picked them up and started writing down. By the ti Old Li finished drinking the dicine, she had just finished writing.

"The prescription, go to a pharmacy after work and get a few doses to drink, the boiling thod is written there, drink it for a week, and rember to avoid spicy and stimulating foods during this period," Rong Zhi said.

Old Li nodded in agreent, his gaze lingering on the elegant handwriting of the prescription for a while, then—he didn’t understand it.

The prescription from a doctor looked like scribbles, and as a layman, he couldn’t understand a single word.

This made him trust it even more, feeling the rare comfort in his throat from the past few days, he carefully put the prescription away, relaxing as he teased, "Hidden talents, indeed."

Rong Zhi raised an eyebrow, she hadn’t been hiding anything, how did that count as hidden talents?

They chatted a bit more about the math Olympic Competition problem, Old Li was feeling comfortable, he planned to find Yao Xiaoshan for a chat, so he let Rong Zhi go back first.

On her way back to the classroom, Rong Zhi’s phone vibrated.

Taking it out for a look, it was Rong Fengmian.

She pressed the answer button.

"Sis, where are you?"

On the other side, Rong Fengmian’s voice was sowhat hoarse.

Rong Zhi felt sothing was off and frowned, "On my way back to the classroom."

"I’m in the little grove at school, can you co over?" Rong Fengmian said.

The little grove?

Rong Zhi looked down at her phone screen, the ti displayed was 12:05, at this ti, Rong Fengmian should be having lunch in the cafeteria.

"Stay there, don’t move." After she said that, she hung up the phone and quickly walked towards the little grove.

Along the way, many possibilities crossed her mind, and these possibilities were confird when she saw Rong Fengmian appearing beaten.

"What happened?" Rong Zhi sat next to Rong Fengmian, brushing aside his bangs.

The boy’s face, which was originally sowhat delicate, was bruised in one spot and red in another, with clear traces of blood near his lips, though it seed to have been wiped off partially.

Rong Fengmian, who had been holding back, couldn’t control himself any longer when his family mber arrived. He threw himself into Rong Zhi’s arms, hugged her waist, and buried his head in her shoulder, crying loudly.

"They... they didn’t say anything, just—just rushed up and tore up my howork notebook. I fought back, and then they beat ," Rong Fengmian spoke in between tears and sobs, "Waaah, sis, it hurts."

Rong Zhi reached out and gently patted his back, allowing Rong Fengmian to sar his tears all over her shoulder.

This child’s character was a bit timid by nature, so fighting back probably took all his courage. It’s unsurprising that this little rebellion led to such a beating, feeling wronged was natural.

Once Rong Fengmian finished venting his inner grievances with a loud sob, after getting up from Rong Zhi’s arms, he gave a loud sob hiccup, and reflexively pouted in grievance.

Rong Zhi was continuously observing the surroundings to ensure no one else was around, and finally, after he finished venting, she rubbed his head and asked softly, "Feel better now?"

Rong Fengmian nodded, though he still felt upset inside.

"Sis," he said, filled with indignation, "I... you have to avenge my howork notebook and !"

Rong Zhi’s fingers brushed over the injuries on Rong Fengmian’s face, eliciting a small cry of pain from him. She pursed her lips, a sharp glint passing through her eyes, "Alright."

...

After sending Rong Fengmian to the dical room, outside, Rong Zhi leaned nonchalantly against the wall with one leg bent, absentmindedly spinning her phone in hand, the screen rapidly scrolling through lines of code.

Once Rong Fengmian walked out, she casually put the phone into her pocket, then took out a newly made dairy-flavored lollipop and handed it to him, "Let’s go, I’ll take you back to the classroom."

Rong Zhi didn’t attend the afternoon classes, she took leave to go to the hospital with He Songzhi. At around seven in the evening, after applying dicine to Rong Fengmian and having dinner with a few people, Rong Zhi received a ssage from Zhao Hecheng, saying that Rong Jiazze’s school had been finalized.

Zhao Hecheng: [Beijing Second Primary School, safety and teaching resources are all satisfactory.]

Rong Zhi replied by typing on the keyboard: [Alright.]

After discussing the enrolnt ti and grade level, Rong Zhi exited WeChat, planning to inform Rong Jiazze about the news, when a ssage from Ying Hengyu popped up on WeChat.

Ying Hengyu: [Third Brother, I sent you the address.]

Attached with it was a location marker.

Rong Zhi’s fingertips paused on the words "Blue Paris" and then replied: [Okay.]

Nas like that typically belong to entertainnt venues, and the address Ying Hengyu sent was clearly one of those. Rong Zhi gave He Songzhi a heads-up, picked up the car keys, slung a backpack over her shoulder, and left.
