Bai Su’s beautiful peach blossom eyes curved up, and he let out a soft laugh: "I’ll drink this bowl first, and then get another for you?"

He made a gesture as if to drink the dicine.

Rong Zhi: "No need."

If he drank it, she estimated Bai Su would throw it all up in the next second.

She snatched the bowl before Bai Su could withdraw his hand and, tilting her head, finished it in one go.

The bitter taste of the dicine spread through her mouth.

Rong Zhi set down the bowl and used her fingertip to wipe away the dicine residue on her lips.

Bai Su’s lazy yet sowhat deep voice sounded by her side, "Eat so candy."

The man’s slender pale fingers held a pink, strawberry-scented gummy bear as he spoke gently: "Good boy, open your mouth."

Rong Zhi: "..."

Rong Jiazze erged from the room, half-asleep and searching for water: "?"

What’s going on?

Brother’s back? Why is Brother Su here?

Rong Zhi glanced at the little boy out of the corner of her eye and asked in a calm voice: "Awake?"

Rong Jiazze slowly shook his head, "Thirsty. Brother, what are you guys doing?"

Regaining a bit of clarity, he saw the two people on the sofa sitting quite close, rubbed his eyes, and suddenly beca more alert.

Bai Su looked at Rong Jiazze, raised his brows slightly, and said unhurriedly: "If you’re thirsty, go drink water. Rest early after drinking, sweet dreams."

Rong Jiazze: "..."

He seed to detect an obvious disdain.

Rong Jiazze hurriedly nodded, quickly poured so water, and took it back to his room without even drinking.

Suddenly, only Rong Zhi and Bai Su were left in the living room.

The young man spoke slowly: "Is threatening a child amusing?"

Bai Su seriously thought for a mont, then let out a low laugh, "No, threatening the little brother is what’s amusing."

Rong Zhi relaxed by massaging her hand bones, perhaps because the atmosphere was too quiet, or perhaps because the aura of the person beside her gradually surrounded her—a faint fragrance that slled quite pleasant over ti.

She raised her eyes, spoke slowly with a drawl: "The peak concentration of phenylethylamine can last from six months to four years; that’s the duration of a romance."

"Humans are not inherently creatures of long-lasting affection; eternal love defies nature. Bai Su, how long have you known before you said you liked ? Have you thought about the future?"

In her emotional world, rationality always outweighed sentintality; she existed as an extrely cold-hearted being, and Bai Su’s moth-to-fla kind of affection seed stupid to her.

Hopelessly so.

After speaking, Rong Zhi pursed her lips, lowered her long lashes slightly, the beautiful fox eyes tucked in, emotions beneath montarily surged then vanished.

She rarely spoke so many words.

Bai Su was first stunned, then slowly curled his lips. He placed the strawberry gummy into his mouth, letting the sweet and sour strawberry flavor burst forth.

His elegant brows and eyes relaxed, speaking lightly and earnestly, yet forcefully and devoutly: "Then I will defy nature, and love you against my instincts."

The words erged amidst a strong strawberry scent, intertwined with a mild mint aroma—complex and fervent.

He spoke not as sweet talk nor with any hint of seductive flirtation, even being more serious than usual.

Rong Zhi’s movents paused.

Bai Su’s gaze was deep like a brilliant vortex, speckled with myriad stars, directly eting the fox-like eyes of the young man before him.

He felt that the sudden movent of the Star-picking Plate at that mont had received its explanation.

The young man seed to have no secrets, and the Star-picking Plate rely guided him to find her.

Bai Su leaned closer.

Rong Zhi snapped back to reality and leaned back to avoid, frowning, "What are you doing?"

The man slightly lowered his head, his eyes carried hesitation and struggle. After a mont, he stretched out a well-defined hand to sharply capture the young man’s waist, blocking her constant retreat, while the other hand covered her slightly cool lips.

Warm breaths spread across his hand, Bai Su made an ambiguous click of the tongue.

Rong Zhi moved to pry his hand away.

"Don’t move, little brother."

A deep, lazy voice lingered on the very heart.

Rong Zhi halted, lowered her gaze in silence.

Bai Su lowered his head, his lips moving from the young man’s forehead downward, lightly touching bit by bit, like a dragonfly skimming the surface, ultimately stopping atop his hand.

Rong Zhi’s hand clinched around his finger joint instantly tightened, Bai Su frowned as she squeezed.

The man’s dense eyelashes fluttered lightly before her eyes, his intense aura enveloping her layer upon layer, breath entwined—burning and scorching.

Her fox-like eyes opened wide.

They separated in an instant.

Bai Su withdrew his thin lips from the back of his hand, his hand caressing the young man’s slender neck, his water-colored sparkling peach blossom eyes looked at the place he yearned for, sighing lightly as if he might or might not.

He lowered his head, cheek pressing against hers in an affectionate rub, like the most primitive gesture of goodwill and admiration between animals.
