In smaller companies, there’s typically only a cashier and an accountant, but a big company like the Rong Group, aside from the Finance Director, also has a Chief Financial Officer and different accounting personnel.

The position arranged for Rong Zhi was the sa as what Rong Qichuo used to have, both working under Rong Yun. The Finance Departnt is the most lucrative, and Rong Fangjun wanted to toughen up his granddaughter but couldn’t bear to let her suffer too much.

When Rong Zhi received the address from Rong Fangjun, she changed her original plan to head to the Rong Group Building.

-

An hour later, Rong Zhi walked into the Rong Group.

The entire building had been leased by the Rong Group, elegantly decorated, with two security guards stationed at the entrance watching over the flow of people. Inside, well-dressed white-collar workers occasionally ca in and out.

The building has over sixty floors, with the chairman’s office at the top; the next two floors down are the president’s office, where Rong Xian’an works.

The Finance Departnt, where Rong Zhi was heading, was on the thirty-fifth floor. As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she saw soone running hurriedly towards her in the distance, only for them to slip and nearly fall.

When she looked up again, Rong Zhi recognized the slightly lean face of the person; it was her third uncle, Rong Jin.

But Rong Jin seed very busy and did not see her, as he quickly turned and headed towards a certain workstation.

Rong Zhi recalled that during the introductory banquet, Rong Jin said he would show her around the company. Since Rong Yun wasn’t in a hurry to see her, she thought for a mont and then walked in the direction Rong Jin had just gone.

"...It’s not that I won’t approve it, Director Rong, you have to understand that this reimbursent has to follow procedures. Without a response from above, I can’t approve it either..."

Rong Zhi heard a woman saying this from the workstation as she approached.

She lowered her eyes and caught sight of a large invoice on the woman’s desk. The purpose was entertaining a client, whose na seed familiar—she rembered seeing it in the company materials provided by Rong Fangjun.

Then she heard Rong Jin speak, his tone urgent yet helpless, "Xiao Li, please help. Today, my cousin isn’t here to sign off the reimbursent request, could you process it for ? I’ll..."

Li Yaoyao politely interrupted Rong Jin, "There really is no way. It’s not that I don’t want to help you, but company policy is like this. You’ve been here longer than I have and know the rules cannot be violated. If I help you, I could lose my job."

What Li Yaoyao said was true, but as a mber of the Rong Family, it should be easy for Rong Jin to get a reimbursent signature. Yet, it was common knowledge within the company that Rong Jin had a very low status in the Rong Family.

All other Rong Family mbers either worked in the least demanding and highest-paying departnts or were branch managers.

Only Rong Jin was given a middling position at the main office, and his sowhat sharp face made it difficult for him.

Many people had preconceived notions about him before even joining the company.

Li Yaoyao was one such person.

During her interview, when she saw Rong Jin with a stern face sitting there, she thought she had failed. It turned out to be a false alarm, but she couldn’t shake off the shadow of Rong Jin in her mind.

Rong Jin bit his lip, looked at Li Yaoyao for a few seconds, and when he realized she wouldn’t help with the reimbursent, he sighed, wiped his face, and turned away, dejected.

Just then, a slightly hoarse and pleasant voice beside him said, "What reimbursent? Let take a look."

Li Yaoyao and Rong Jin imdiately looked up.

Standing by Li Yaoyao’s desk was a tall, handso young man with one hand in his pocket, his fox-like eyes slightly narrowed, exuding a wild and unrestrained aura.

She removed her mask, revealing a face so exquisitely crafted as if painted by God, ink-washed and outlined, faint and cool.

The sight temporarily dazzled Rong Jin. It took him a mont to recover, "Third Nephew?"

Rong Zhi nodded casually, twirling her mask around her fingers as she extended her hand toward Li Yaoyao, "Reimbursent application."

"Third Nephew is starting work here?" Rong Jin’s tone beca friendly in front of Rong Zhi as he inquired.

"Yes." Rong Zhi nodded softly, and her gaze fell onto Li Yaoyao, who was still in a daze. She raised an eyebrow and tapped the table lightly twice with her fingers.

"Oh."

Li Yaoyao snapped out of it with a jump, the movent even knocking over the water cup on the table, soaking the written reimbursent application.

Rong Zhi quickly snatched up the stack of invoices from the table, including the one Rong Jin needed reimbursed.

She frowned slightly, "Is this how you usually work?"

Li Yaoyao knew she ssed up and her lips trembled, but not knowing who this person was, she figured they weren’t soone important due to her unfamiliarity.

So, she braced herself and said, "How I work is sothing my boss worries about, it’s none of your concern."

"Oh," Rong Zhi seed to finally understand and glanced sideways at Rong Jin, "Third Uncle, is my work ID ready?"

Rong Jin nodded and pulled out a plain white work ID from his pocket, handing it to Rong Zhi, "It’s been ready, just waiting for you to co."

Rong Zhi clasped the work ID between her slender, porcelain-white fingers, then casually waved it in front of Li Yaoyao, asking in a calm voice, "How about now?"

Li Yaoyao stared at the work ID in confusion until she saw the card inscription:

——Rong Group Finance Departnt

——Chief Financial Officer, Rong Zhi

Just one position below the Finance Director.

It ant she was the imdiate superior.

Li Yaoyao suddenly looked up.

Rong Zhi calmly put away the work ID, gazing down expressionlessly at Li Yaoyao’s face, which was turning darker by the mont, "If you can’t even do your basic job, there’s no place for you at the Rong Group."

Though her tone was light, Li Yaoyao broke out in a cold sweat.

Who would have thought this beautiful young man, looking as though he stepped out of a painting, was actually the recently found Third Young Master of the Rong Family and the newly appointed Chief Financial Officer.

Li Yaoyao forced a stiff smile, "N-no, sorry Third Young Master, I’ll pay attention next ti."

Rong Zhi rely uttered a sound of acknowledgnt, letting the matter drop as she set the invoices down in a clean area on the desk, "Handle these, and also."

Li Yaoyao appeared confused, "What?"

Rong Zhi: "Notify the Finance Departnt of a eting."

-

The news of Third Young Master Rong starting work at the company circulated through the company’s internal group chat within half an hour, reaching every departnt. So gossip-loving people wanted to glimpse at the Finance Departnt, but all for naught.

Everyone in the Finance Departnt was in a eting room.

Inside the eting room, the young man sat lazily at the head of the table, listening to the Finance Departnt employees report their work.

She had just arrived, and no secretary had been assigned yet. No one recorded the eting details, and she hadn’t brought any paper or pen, just listened quietly.

Below.

People from the Finance Departnt began sneakily observing this Third Young Master Rong.

"He didn’t even bring a pen. Can he rember everything?"

"That’s another issue. First, can he even understand anything at all?"

"Oh right, you reminded —I almost forgot. Third Young Master grew up in the countryside, never learned any of this stuff."

Rong Zhi’s legs were lazily crossed, her delicate fingers casually resting on her forehead, her eyes half-closed and looking as if tinged with a trace of weariness, giving the impression she was asleep.

Seeing her lack of response, those discussing her beca more brazen.

The noise in the eting room grew louder, nearly drowning out the work reports from the employees.

Rong Zhi frowned irritably, scanning the group; she spoke in a cold voice, "Can’t you all stay quiet?"
