Rong ng looked at Sheng Pianpian’s back and smiled without speaking.

So what if she knows Tao Ruisi? Rong Zhi’s birthplace couldn’t even afford a cello, let alone learn it.

But... just thinking that Rong Zhi was actually friends with Tao Ruisi made her feel a suffocating irritation, hard to swallow or spit out, very uncomfortable.

She turned her head to look at Rong Zhi from afar, coincidentally eting Rong Zhi’s eyes as she raised her gaze. Rong ng paused in her expression, then raised her wine glass towards her.

The other party glanced at her indifferently and then withdrew her gaze.

Her eyes were cold, her attitude even colder.

However, Rong ng’s mood was not affected at all; she even happily ate a piece of cake and sent a ssage to Rong Qichuo.

Just wait a bit more, Rong Zhi is about to embarrass herself, ruining the party that grandfather worked so hard to prepare. Let’s see how she handles it.

-

On the other side.

Shen Luoluo, having eaten and drunk enough, clapped her hands and was ready to go find Rong Zhi with Ying Hengyu.

Just as she was about to leave, a figure suddenly appeared in front of her, blocking her way.

"Luoluo!"

Shen Luoluo patted her chest, looking at Sheng Pianpian with annoyance, "Why shout so loudly, scared to death."

Sheng Pianpian, giggling, took Shen Luoluo’s arm, "It’s been so long, I miss you. By the way, I heard you’re going abroad next week to learn the cello, and it’s a teacher introduced by soone else. Who is it?"

Shen Luoluo shook her head mysteriously, with quite a bit of sentint, "It’s Master Tao Ruisi, introduced by Third Brother."

"Third Brother?" Sheng Pianpian was puzzled.

"That’s Rong Zhi, the main character of tonight’s introduction banquet."

"How could it be," Sheng Pianpian frowned, not believing her words at all, "Soone from the countryside like him could know Master Tao Ruisi? If he did, why didn’t they arrange a program for him tonight?"

Shen Luoluo couldn’t stand to hear others speak poorly of Rong Zhi. Upon hearing this, she calmly freed her hand from Sheng Pianpian and seriously explained, "Nothing is impossible, Pianpian. You must know there’s a saying that there are always people better than you, and heavens beyond heavens."

"Moreover, Third Brother is a young master of the Rong Family. This is his introduction banquet; why should he perform?"

Sheng Pianpian laughed ingratiatingly, "Of course, it’s for Rong Zhi’s sake. Look, there are so many people at the banquet, and their thoughts are different from yours. If one wants to gain their approval, shouldn’t one make so efforts to earn their recognition?"

Shen Luoluo thought it over and felt that she might have a point.

But... does Third Brother know how to play the cello?

She had never heard Tao Ruisi ntion Rong Zhi playing the cello.

However, Sheng Pianpian had already taken her hand again the mont she nodded, almost dragging her half-heartedly towards Rong Zhi.

Ying Hengyu wanted to say sothing but had no chance, and could only follow along.

By the long table.

Rong Zhi had finished two cocktails and had just picked up her third when a group of people appeared before her.

Shen Luoluo regretted coming over imdiately, scratching her head awkwardly, pressing her lips together, just about to speak when Sheng Pianpian bypassed her to greet first.

"You really look more handso up close. Third Young Master Rong, you must look even more handso playing the cello."

Rong Zhi lazily raised an eyebrow, looking towards Ying Hengyu.

Ying Hengyu cursed Shen Luoluo as foolish under his breath, then explained everything to her carefully.

After listening to the explanation, Rong Zhi’s lips curled slightly. She casually placed the glass on a passing waiter’s tray, picked up a napkin from the table to wipe her hands, and spoke slowly, "Cello, huh. I don’t play it."

She roughly understood what that look from Rong ng earlier ant, apparently waiting for her there.

Sheng Pianpian was taken aback, full of confusion, "Don’t play? But wasn’t it you who introduced Luoluo’s teacher..."

"Does introducing a teacher an one must know how to play the cello?" Rong Zhi’s tone was indifferent as she countered.

Sheng Pianpian was at a loss for words.

Just as the atmosphere was stuck there, the sound of static suddenly ca from the sound system, followed by Rong Qichuo’s voice spreading through the banquet hall.

"Thank you to all the guests for coming. The Rong Family warmly welcos you. My brother is particularly happy tonight. He just told that to thank everyone for their presence, he specially prepared a program as a token of gratitude."

Guests imdiately looked towards the stage. Rong Yun, who got along well with Rong Qichuo, asked aloud, "Big Nephew, what program has Third Nephew prepared?"

Rong Qichuo’s eyes flashed with a hint of malice, quickly restraining it. He responded with a smile, "Cello solo."

Rong Yun asked in surprise, "Did Third Nephew and Second Niece learn the sa instrunt?"

No sooner had the words fallen than the banquet hall guests began to echo.

"I didn’t expect Third Young Master Rong to have learned an instrunt; I thought he didn’t understand anything."

"Learning is one thing, playing well is another. With his sister’s talent in front, I reckon this Third Young Master is just average."

"True, even though they’re twins, the sister is talented in every way; who knows how the brother is."

"How he is, we’ll see in a while..."

Rong Zhi lightly tossed the napkin into the trash can and then looked towards the stage, spotting the sneer in Rong Qichuo’s eyes. She slowly curled her lips, her smile faint and cold.

First, they praised her and then brought out Rong ng for comparison, forcing her into a corner.

If she didn’t go up, it would clearly suggest that she couldn’t compare to her sister and also appeared disdainful of the guests; but if she went up, these people definitely had other plans waiting for her.

Her eyes slowly filled with a cold commotion.

Rong Qichuo stared at her, wearing a victor’s smile as if he had already witnessed Rong Zhi’s embarrassnt. Seeing Rong Zhi remain silent, he added the last straw, "Brother, didn’t you tell before that you also practiced the cello? Co on up, the instrunt is set for you."

The surroundings filled with whispers.

Rong Zhi quietly pressed her knuckles, her fox-like eyes curving, her tone lazy and casual, with a hint of roguish charm, "Alright, I’ll go up."

Rong Qichuo grinned maliciously, "Then the stage is yours, brother."

-

Amid the conversations and discussions in the banquet hall, the young man’s graceful and wild figure walked slowly onto the stage.

The noise gradually subsided.

The young man reached the center, standing beside the cello, and bowed to the guests.

This was basic etiquette, yet she executed it with extraordinary elegance and perfection.

She straightened up, lifting her gaze, her face was dazzlingly exquisite and aloof.

The guests montarily felt as if they were at a grand music hall, and on stage, was a successful and famous cello virtuoso.

She sat behind the cello, those porcelain-white hands, like works of art, gripping the instrunt, one hand holding the violin bow.

The crowd’s eyes followed her movents, and as she paused slightly, they couldn’t help but marvel internally.

How could there be such beautiful hands, so beautiful that they made people want to preserve them.

Her wrist moved slightly, and soft music instantly flowed out, filling the entire banquet hall.

From the gentle and slow beginning, to the intense and high-pitched climax, everyone unknowingly got lost in the visual imagery created by the music.

Despite a tumultuous youth, she retained a pure heart.

She was the unluckiest, and also the luckiest.

The boy’s chest was broad, encompassing all things. She didn’t love this world, yet wanted to offer herself for it.

The music escalated sharply, like the most intense clash.

Many guests were so moved by the music that they couldn’t help but thump their chests and pant for breath.

It was suffocating.

Clearly, the piece expressed an uplifting ssage, yet they couldn’t help but feel sorrowful, tears welling up unbidden.
