Inside the Fly Shuttle’s cabin.
Xun Yue, slightly overweight and dressed in a Gold Bear uniform, sat on a white sofa chair, the fingers of his right hand continuously snapping lightly. Each ti he snapped his fingers, a small, pale blue fla would flicker at their tips. Just like a lighter igniting.
SNAP!
The fla flared.
SNAP!
Then the fla died.
Xun Yue seed to be enjoying himself, but he was actually quite agitated.
"Have you found out yet?" Xun Yue was on a communication line.
"No." The voice on the other end sounded helpless as it replied, "The information on this person is highly classified. I couldn’t access it even with Level Five clearance. All I know is..."
The voice paused.
Xun Yue pressed, "Know what?"
"That he’s a new recruit, just selected from this year’s blood assessnt trials. And upon joining the organization, he was imdiately promoted to Gold Bear..."
Joined this year... Straight promotion to Gold Bear... Xun Yue’s expression darkened, his eyes flashing as his mind raced.
"Are you saying he has deep connections? Perhaps a relative of so top figure?"
"Highly likely," the voice answered.
Xun Yue said with so exasperation, "I hate dealing with these ’Crown Prince’ types. You know, before I arrived, I greeted him politely several tis... He didn’t even bother to reply. We’re almost at the location, and forget a welcoming party, there isn’t even anyone holding a small banner to guide us..."
"Haha, he was probably just sent here for a little resu padding. He was living comfortably in the Old City Circle—no fieldwork, no venturing into Secret Realms—living like a king in his own little domain. Now that you’re here to replace him, he’s definitely not pleased."
The voice chuckled reassuringly, "Still, since Lord Wu sent you to take over, it probably ans this person, or the actions of his backer, have already dissatisfied so of the other lords. You don’t need to be too cautious. Just follow procedure. If necessary, put him in his place a bit. Besides, Lord Wu is backing you. From what I’ve read, he’s only seventeen and was promoted to Gold Bear due to his talent. Given his esteed status and powerful background... his actual strength is likely diocre. You can handle him easily..."
As he was speaking, the voice suddenly cut off, then quickly beca serious and urgent.
"Old Xun! I just got an update from Heavenly Eye surveillance! A Double S level Evil Energy Fluctuation is heading your way! It’s less than five kiloters from your position, direct line!"
"Double S ?!" Xun Yue’s finger-snapping stopped abruptly. He shot up from the sofa like a released spring.
He darted out of the lounge and found the area outside already in chaos. A quick scan revealed countless display screens flashing glaring red warning lights.
"Sir..." A Crimson Bear started to report, but Xun Yue raised a hand, cutting him off. His expression grim, he switched the monitor to the external real-ti feed.
The mont he saw the situation outside, Xun Yue’s face turned extrely grave.
Directly beneath the Fly Shuttle, a massive figure, over five ters tall, was sprinting wildly. Each footfall made the ground ripple like water. A terrifying aura of Evil Energy distorted the air around it, forming an overwhelming pressure, like a colossal wave, surging forward.
"Walker Level!" Xun Yue ground out the words through gritted teeth.
His fists clenched, and beads of sweat trickled down his temples.
A Double S-rank, and a Double S-plus at that—this Walker Level entity is far beyond what a re Gold Bear like can handle.
Xun Yue quickly spoke into the communicator, "Get the Skytop Sword activated for , now! Imdiately!"
The person on the other end sounded just as anxious, replying quickly, "The application has been submitted. Including review ti, you’ll probably need to stall it for..."
Before the voice could finish, it was drowned out by a burst of electronic static. In an instant, all the instrunts inside the Fly Shuttle went haywire.
An indescribably terrifying sonic wave, like a raging tide, swept over the Fly Shuttle.
Xun Yue was montarily deafened, and his entire body trembled involuntarily.
But before he could react to this sudden, shocking event, he saw it—a silver streak, like a cot, flashed across his vision.
The silver light streaked across the sky at what appeared, visually, to be a "slow" speed. Everything in its path was neatly sliced in two, leaving a faintly distorted trail in the air.
The silver light rapidly approached the Walker Level Elephantman.
The terrifying field of Evil Energy surrounding the Elephantman was sliced apart by the silver light as easily as soft butter.
The silver light struck the Elephantman. Its forward charge ca to an abrupt halt.
Then...
BOOM!
A dazzling silver radiance erupted, and the earth trembled violently.
At the center of the silver light’s explosion, a massive white mushroom cloud slowly ascended. Beneath it, the ground rippled outward like water...
BOOM!
That explosion seed to slam into Xun Yue’s heart as well. His heart skipped a beat, his gaze trembling.
When the mushroom cloud dispersed, Xun Yue got a clear view of the scene below, and his pupils contracted violently.
He saw it—the Walker Level Elephantman monster was pinned fast to the ground by an entirely silver-white spear, shrieking and roaring like captured prey.
HISSS...
