Si woo

The doctor finally left the room. The silence felt heavy. I stood near the bed, my legs weak, my heart beating too fast. Ye Jun’s last question still echoed in my head.

"...Did I love you?"

I wanted to answer. The words were right there. Yes, you loved . You told every single day. You kissed like I was the only person in the world. But my throat closed tight. Nothing ca out. I just stared at him. He looked so pale against the white hospital sheets. His head was wrapped in bandages. His stomach was flat now. Empty. Our baby was gone, and he didn’t even rember carrying him.

Before I could force any words out, the door suddenly burst open with a loud bang. Two people rushed inside, breathing hard like they had run the whole way.

"Ye Jun!" Titi shouted. She was a small girl with bright pink nails and ssy hair. She dropped her bag on the floor and ran to the bed. She hugged Ye Jun carefully, like he might break. "Oh my god, we ca as fast as we could! What happened to you? Are you okay? We were so scared!"

Right behind her was Ohm. Tall, with ssy dark hair and sharp eyes. He looked worried, but there was sothing else in his face. Sothing I didn’t like.

Ye Jun blinked slowly. Then his eyes lit up with real recognition. Not the empty confused look he gave . This was warm. Familiar.

"Titi?" Ye Jun said, his voice soft and relieved. "Ohm? You guys... you’re really here."

Titi started crying right away. "Of course we’re here. The hospital called us because we’re your ergency contacts. We left everything and ca straight over. Your head... what happened? And your stomach... it’s flat. They said you had surgery."

Ohm stepped closer to the bed. He put one hand gently on Ye Jun’s shoulder and squeezed it. "Hey, man. We’ve got you. Just breathe. We’re not going anywhere."

I stood there like a statue. My hands started shaking at my sides. He rembers them. Clearly. Their nas, their faces, the comfort. But ? Nothing. Not even a spark. My chest felt like soone punched a hole right through it.

Ye Jun looked up at them with tired but trusting eyes. "I don’t rember much. They said I fell down the stairs. They said I was... pregnant?" His voice cracked. He touched his flat stomach under the blanket. "Over 3 months? That can’t be real, right?"

Titi nodded slowly, wiping her tears. "It was real. You were so excited at first. You complained about the cravings every day. Pickles and ice cream. Rember?"

Ye Jun shook his head. "No. I don’t rember any of that." He looked at then. His eyes were cold. "This guy says he was my boyfriend. That we were having a baby together. But I don’t know him at all."

The room felt smaller. My blood started boiling.

Titi glanced at with pity in her eyes. "Si Woo... maybe give him so space."

Ohm didn’t say anything. He just smiled a little. A small, satisfied smile that made my stomach twist. I knew that smile. Ohm had always wanted Ye Jun for himself. From the first day I t him. He would text Ye Jun late at night. He would offer to pick him up from work. He would say things like "You deserve soone who really understands you." Always around. Always waiting for his chance. I wonder if he knew that Ye jun was pregnant.

Now he looked happy. Like this was the best day of his life.

I couldn’t hold it in anymore. "You rember them perfectly," I said, my voice loud and angry. "But ? Nothing? We lived together for two years. We fought, we laughed, we made a baby. And your brain just deletes ? That’s fucked up."

Ye Jun frowned. "My head hurts. Stop yelling."

Ohm rubbed Ye Jun’s arm softly. "It’s okay. Don’t push yourself. mory loss after trauma is complicated. The doctors will help. We’re here for you."

Ye Jun leaned a little into Ohm’s touch. He looked comfortable. Safe. Like Ohm belonged there next to him. My jealousy burned hotter. I stepped closer to the bed.

"Tell sothing," I said. "Anything. Do you rember our apartnt? The blue curtains? The way I made you coffee every morning?"

Ye Jun stared at blankly. "No. I don’t."

Titi tried to help. "Si Woo, maybe this isn’t the ti. He just woke up. He lost the baby. This is a lot."

But I was too pissed. The words kept coming. "Ohm looks really happy about all this. Don’t you, Ohm? You always wanted him. Always hanging around, waiting for to ss up. Well, I ssed up bad. Congratulations."

Ohm tried to look innocent, but his eyes were shining with joy. He kept his hand on Ye Jun’s shoulder.

Ye Jun’s face changed. Confusion turned to anger. "What are you even saying? I don’t know you. I don’t rember any baby. I don’t rember loving you. And you’re standing here fighting with my friends?"

I forced a smile. It hurt my face. My lips felt tight. "Go ahead then. You can have him, Ohm. Take Ye Jun. You always wanted him anyway. Looks like today is your lucky day."

Titi gasped. "Si Woo, stop!"

Ohm’s smile grew bigger. He didn’t even try to hide it now.

Ye Jun sat up a little, even though it clearly hurt him. His monitors started beeping faster. "Get out," he whispered at first. Then louder. "Get out! I don’t want you here. You make feel sick. Nurses! Soone get this trash out of my room!"

Trash. The word hit like a slap.

Two nurses rushed in quickly. One grabbed my arm. "Sir, you need to leave right now. The patient is getting too stressed."

I pulled back. "Ye Jun, please. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry about the fight. About the baby. About everything. I love you. Even if you don’t rember."

He wouldn’t look at . Tears were in his eyes but his voice was hard. "Trash. That’s what you are. You did this to . Get out. I can’t even breathe with you here."

The nurses pulled harder. I looked back one more ti. Ohm was sitting on the edge of the bed now. Close. Very close. Ye Jun didn’t push him away. He actually looked calr. His breathing slowed down. He leaned toward Ohm like it was natural. Like they had done this before.

Titi whispered sothing to Ye Jun, but he just nodded and closed his eyes for a second, resting near Ohm.

They dragged out into the hallway. The door closed behind with a click. I slid down the cold wall until I was sitting on the floor. My legs wouldn’t hold anymore. The hallway slled like sanitizer and sadness. Lights buzzed above .

I pressed my hands against my face. Tears ca hot and fast. Everything hurt. My head, my chest, my whole body.

Ohm stopped his flight to Thailand. That’s why he got here so fast. I rembered Titi ntioning it once before. Ohm had a big job opportunity in Thailand. Good pay, new life. He was probably at the airport, bags packed, when the hospital called. And he turned around. Dropped everything. For Ye Jun. He ca running back without thinking twice.

While I was the one who caused the fall. The one who said horrible things. The one who killed our son.

I laughed quietly. A broken, ugly sound. The floor was hard under . People walked past, giving strange looks. I didn’t care.

Inside the room, I knew what was happening. Ye Jun was probably talking to them. Relaxing. Letting Ohm comfort him. Maybe Ohm was holding his hand right now. Telling him everything would be okay. Ye Jun looked too comfortable with him. Like a missing piece clicked back into place.

And ? I was trash outside the door.

My mind started playing tricks. The hospital noises faded. The beeping, the footsteps, the voices. Everything beca distant. Then I started hearing it. Soft saxophone music. Slow and sad. Like in those old movies where the guy loses everything. The notes were low and painful. Rising slowly, wrapping around my head.

I shook my head hard. It didn’t stop. The saxophone kept playing. Sad, lonely notes. Mocking . Telling this was the end.

I covered my ears with my hands. The music stayed. It got a little louder. Cruel and slow. Every note reminded of what I lost. Ye Jun’s smile. His laugh. His hand on my cheek. The baby kicks against my palm at night. All gone.

I stayed on the cold floor. Broken. Listening to the saxophone that wasn’t really there. It played on and on. Sad music for a sad man who destroyed his own life.

Ye Jun was alive in that room. But he wasn’t mine anymore. He might never be again. Ohm was happy. Ye Jun felt safe with him. And I was left with nothing but this music in my head.

The saxophone continued. Slow. Painful and Endless.
