Now the question was how to break it out to Zhenyi that they would be living here from now on without telling her the actual reasons for his sudden decision? To be honest, it was not a sudden decision, it was his desire to stay away from his family or that place. He had to muster up the courage to tell her of his decision. But he was afraid of her questions. Questions which he couldn't answer. Questions he didn't want to answer. Questions that could never be answered.

He would do what he could but there was a problem -- what if these unanswered questions shook the very foundation of their marriage? It hadn't been three days since they had found a common ground. Three days since their truce. Did he want to undo the progress they had made?

He didn't want to but he had to because he would always choose not to answer those questions over anything. He would never be able to bear their reactions after the disclosure of truth. Most importantly, her reaction.

Therefore, he made the decision to fuck up again if it ant to remain silent. Because he trust her. He had faith in her that she would save their marriage at any cost even if he fucked up. Because she had made the vow. And there was nothing truer, more real than her vows. Not even mother nature itself.

But what Long Jie didn't realize was that lies and secrets were more like cancer in the relationships. The type of cancer which ate away the good and left behind nothing but the destruction itself. Secrets and lies like that, at so point, beca irrelevant. But the fact that one kept it did not.

"Father called he expects us to attend the family dinner," Long Jie finally decided to inform his wife. Only he knew much he didn't want to attend the so-called family gatherings.

"When?" Zhenyi asked him looking at a particular painting in front of her. Such a peculiar painting to hang in the dining room. However, she didn't ask him.

"Tonight," Long Jie said as his gaze followed hers and stopped on the painting. He stepped in front of her to halt her view."My grandmother will present at the dinner tonight. She was not able to attend our wedding. Therefore, she is here to give us her blessing." Long Jie added.

Surprisingly, Zhenyi had not heard of Long Jie's grandmother. Even the profile she received on Longs didn't ntion his grandmother. Hence, she was oddly curious about this mber of the Long family.

"Don't worry, she will certainly like you," Long said when he noticed her unusual quietness.

"Even if she doesn't like it will not change the fact that she is your grandmother. Besides, whether she approves of or not it's none of my business," Zhenyi said with a small smile. It was not her duty to make anyone else like her.

"I know but that's not what I an." Long Jie let out a sigh."It will not change the fact that she is my grandmother but it doesn't an you have to see her frequently. She seldom lives at the Long mansion and often she stays out of Beijing."

"And your grandfather?" asked Zhenyi.

"He lives Long mansion often," Long Jie said with a grimace. "My grandmother and grandfather do not share a cordial relationship. If not for the sake that they had a political marriage, they would have been divorced decades ago."

"Your family is even more ssed up than I have previously thought," Zhenyi replied with a bitter chuckle. She was aware of the fact that there was no divorce in their marriage. But what if they couldn't solve their problems would their marriage suffer the sa fate as other Long couples?

"Indeed." Long Jie replied with a single word. His family was not ssed up, it was twisted beyond repair. Only if she knew of the monsters that reside in that family.

"Jie." Zhenyi suddenly called his na. She couldn't keep her thoughts only to himself. She gave him enough ti to co clean but he didn't. However, the strange emotions that cast his face whenever he talked about his family were unsettling to her.

"Hmmm?"

"Why are we not living at the Long mansion with your family?" Zhenyi asked eting his gaze. She pressed on the word family to see as to what his reaction was.

"Why, you do not like here? " Long Jie tensed up."If you do not like this estate, I can arrange another one of your taste. You just have to inform and I will make the arrangents soon."

'Huh...You still wouldn't co clean! What are you hiding from , Jie? ' Zhenyi said in her heart.

Zhenyi shook her head. "It is not what I an. Why are we not living with your family at your ho? Your real ho, Jie." Zhenyi again pressed on the words family and ho. She knew she was playing with fire. But if it ant she would get her answers, she didn't it.

"It is my ho, wife, with you. The real ho" answered Long Jie sincerely but it was not the answer Zhenyi was anticipating.

"Okay. Now tell why do you insist on marrying within two days?" Zhenyi dropped that topic temporarily. She was hoping to ask him the reason for the sudden prepone of their wedding. He had beseeched her not to ask any question till their wedding.

"A man can not escape temptation. And you my dear wife is a walking and talking juxtaposition of temptation."

"Jie, I expect answers. The real ones." Zhenyi groaned in exasperation.

"I'm answering your questions, wife with real answers." Long Jie said with a stress on the word 'real' much to her annoyance.

"Goddamit, Jie."

"I'm no fool, husband. I can see you are hiding sothing from . Did not you say we were equal in this marriage thing? So forgive husband if I demand answers which I certainly deserve, "said Zhenyi in frustration.
